Breville - Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV950

I have a Viking microwave with a built in convection oven which is basically the same thing as an air fryer, and the oven function is trash. I used it once and never again. I don’t know how much the technology of these types of combo gadgets has improved since we got our microwave (15ish years), but you’re better off just getting separate devices. I think the Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro is basically one of the top of the line, but it comes with a hefty price tag. I personally use a very basic Gourmia, and it’s fine. No fancy bells and whistles, but it’ll get the job done.

I have the Breville Joule air fryer and it’s great and big enough to handle whatever I want to air fry or roast for that matter. But the air fryer that I used to have is a Phillips and it was just for air frying and I loved that it was an XXL. It was absolutely the best.

I have a Phillips XXL, which is a really good pod style air fryer… I love it. Now on the other hand I also have a Breville in the UK. It’s called a sage toaster oven style air fryer. Mine is the air fryer pro.Joule. I also love this air fryer and I love it even more than the Phillips because it is so versatile and the app helps me set the temperature and it learns my cooking habits. Sage/Breville is a great small appliance company, the quality is amazing… and I find this to be the best type of air fryer for my money. If however, you do not have enough space in your kitchen or enough space in your pantry to keep the air fryer when you’re not using it then go for the pod style.

Honestly breville joule .... I didn't really want to spend that much, got it for a deal and still grumbled thinking the autopilot app was dumb... but dammit I use it a ton and love the recipes and simplicity. I probably eat fish 3-5 times a week where as before it was 1-3x a month because it's as simple as place on pan, season, insert, app go start. Perfectly cooked Everytime. Automatically switched from bake to broil and then drops the temp to warming drawer low and lets me know when it's done.

It’s impossible to clean the interior. The drip pan is useless because it never comes clean. I’ve tried everything. I should have covered with foil. I ended up going with the Breville Joule and got rid of the Ninja.

So I love this appliance, like really love everything it does and it does everything so well. However, you cannot clean the inside once you’ve used it for a long time. It’s a shame. I ended up tossing it and buying a Breville model with a larger nonstick inside area that is a breeze to keep clean.

Heard that. My goal was to completely replace my oven for 90+% of my use. And I got a deal, and had a few bucks Amazon cash to use up. It was the only way I could justify it. But so far it's been worth it.

Been using the Joule for like 2 years now and it's a tank. Haven't found a combo that does slow cooking well though - most are just mediocre at both functions instead of being great at one. Might be better off getting separate units if you actually want them to last

I have a Breville Air Pro. It's more of a toaster oven then air fryer but it does air fry. It's replaced my main oven and honestly I love it. Makes great toast too. I can bake a pizza in it, roast a chicken, and it even dehydrates. It heats up fast and is small so it doesn't heat the whole kitchen like the big one does. It's often used for roasting veggies or potatoes as a side dish.

Yeah, I'll admit I was put off by the price too. But after getting it and using it, I consider it money well spent. It really does replace the main oven, toaster, airfryer, etc.

Yeah, I too was put off by the cost, but now I really wouldn't want to be without it.

I have a Breville smart Air fryer Pro. I see it's on sale for $319 at some places. I've had it for probably a decade and it's replaced my "real" oven.

I have a breville air pro and love it. I rarely use my "real" oven. I roast chicken, bake, toast, dehydrate, I love it. It's old (ten years? ) and I've had to open it and fix the switch that tells when the door is closed, even now I have to close the door while giving the side a whack like the Fonz on a juke box (am I dating myself?). But if it were stolen, I'd buy it again in a heart beat. In fact I'm designing a "tiny home" and intend to put in a breville instead of a full oven.

As long as you can fit what you need to in it, it will work. honestly it's not a great air fryer (although I've never used a real airfryer), however as a toaster, oven and most everything else it says it does, it does it well.

When my traditional toaster died, I got a toaster oven with an air fryer capability (Breville air pro). It quickly became the main oven and the large oven was rarely used. It fits my 12" lodge skillet. And is used multiple times a day.
