"I have constant smoking issues while using the air fry function. ... Even using foil, still smokes like a chimney."
"Ours smoked terribly since day one. ... Sets of the smoke alarm."
"I HAAATE how short it is, you have like a 3in. height limit for anything you want to cook lol ... I mean really if whatever I'm cooking is even 2 inches tall, I feel like it'll be too close to the coils at the top and it'll burn 😅 ... I used to eat a lot of frozen stuffed chicken breasts and I think those would be too tall and get burned, especially being in there for like 30+ minutes that close to the burners. or this one time when I wanted to air fry some fat ass enchiladas I had cooked the day before, those things were chuuunky! Or toasting up some french bread for sandwiches!"

"It also burns food whenever I have used it as a pressure cooker (no matter how much liquid in the food)."
I don't have a dedicated air fryer, but I grabbed the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Air Fryer Lid, and it 1000% is my favourite kitchen appliance. It air fries great. It also sautés, sears, slow cooks, pressure cooks, roasts, dehydrates, and sous vides great. It takes up a small space on my counter. You can buy more than one pot for it if you want to be able to have a clean one ready at all times, and you can line it with parchment when air frying in it to keep the pot clean and ready to go. You can cook damn near anything in it in a variety of methods; even when you forget to take a roast out of the freezer until an hour before you want to eat it, and it's dishwasher-friendly (well, minus the air fryer lid). My only tip beyond "get one!" is to get the 8-qt instead of the 6-qt. We have a 6-qt with three adults, and I really wish I'd gotten the bigger one. To answer your question directly, though, I definitely find it easy to cook and reheat things in the air fryer. And for the small extra time investment over using a microwave, the food usually tastes way better and has a much more palatable texture.
Avoid Ultimate Lid since people have had SO MUCH problem with it refusing to open. 8qt is probably best if you just want one unit, because generally you want capacity with an air fryer. I never paid much attention to Foodie, but the adage was "Foodie is an air fryer that can pressure cook," and IP Crisp models are "Pressure cooker that can air fry." There are aftermarket air fryer lids that can be used on IPs of either 6 or 8qt capacity, or can also be used on a stock pot. I bought the Mealthy Crisp Lid, which is now discontinued, but others still exist. The Crisp Lid used halogen lights, like those glass "turbo convection" ovens. I only used it once, to make French fries, and it could really heat.
I have the 8qt IP with two lids, and really like it. I use it either for pressure or air frying almost daily. I almost never turn on my regular oven any more because the AF acts as a small convection oven that is big enough for almost anything I would bake/roast/grill for two people. The one with the combined lid wasn’t released yet when I bought so that wasn’t an option, and I’ve seen some reports of that lid getting “stuck” in pressure mode since it works differently than the simple pressure lid. I like that that my pressure lid is dishwasher safe, although it’s super easy to clean too.
Instant Pot has a stainless steel inner which works great. Get the 8L Duo Crisp one as it has pressure cooker and airfryer functionality
I am using instant pot duo 8 quarts. It has two lids, one for air fryer and one for pressure cooker,. You can use it as a pressure cooker and an air fryer. The airfryer is not at all loud and works really well. You can try that too
My instant pot duo crisp is the best appliance I’ve bought in the last 6 years. I have the 8qt size. Not only does it air fry, it is also a pressure cooker.
We're a 4 person family and I cook a lot. With an instant pot and airfryer combo I hardly use the oven. I only use the oven if I'm baking and that's because I don't really want to make smaller desserts.
Ah yes, I remember running into that issue with fries. That is a limiting factor. Actually it wasn't even enough for just two fry crazy family members (me being one of them). I use a instant pot Duo, so it's a regular instant pot with a lid to cinder convert into an air fryer. It's definitely smaller and not oven shaped or basket shaped like a dedicated air fryer. Even with that limitation, I can roast 1-2 lbs of green beans at once, since they aren't as fussy as French fries. Or roast 2-3 cubed sweet potatoes similarly. It does take working in stages, if I want a meat too. Something like pulled pork or ribs takes an hour anyway (pressure cook before air fry crisping) so I need to do that earlier or on another day. Then I have pounds of bbq for future meals, because I agree with you, I'm not much for full meal cooking every day. Steelhead trout/salmon I can cook 3-4 servings so quickly in the air fryer, I don't mind running it twice to cook everything and have leftovers for the next day.
Instant pot Duo Crisp. It pressure cooks and also air fries. It also bakes, sous vides, etc. if you get the 8 qt one, it'll air fry a small chicken. The 6.5qt will do a pheasant, but just barely. Ninja also makes one that's a bit nicer and also more expensive.
I've got the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with air fryer lid. It works well enough for each job, but I've found that I very often wish I had separate appliances to use at the same time. It doesn't save much kitchen space, because you still have to store whichever bulky lid you're not using. As an air fryer, it's small and not as easy to handle as a drawer type fryer. As a pressure cooker, it's excellent. No complaints there. But in the last few years the Instant Pot brand is enshittified (see recent posts on this subreddit). If buying now, I'd look for an electric pressure cooker from another brand, and a separate air fryer. Use case: Enthusiastic home cook, usually making 4 portions from fresh ingredients.
I have an Instant Pot Duo Crisp, which is technically both (and then some), but not the best rice cooker OR the best air fryer either - as in, does the job but could be better. But i like the pressure cooker part - quickest way to make beans, stews, soup (i often make bone broth, it's done in 4 hrs instead of 12), etc. However, there are apparently problems with the brand, so it's not a recommendation. But if you're interested in checking it out, Ninja has the Foodi multicookers, it's similar.
