"You can cook potatoes or vegetables on bottom while you’re air frying on the top."
"And it does so many other things. ... I used normal air fryer before and they are extremely limited relative to the speedi. ... You can steam in the speedi. ... You could use it as a rice cooker. ... It has like 10 functions and they all work very well."
"it has a rotisserie mode, in case you want your fries to be tumbled while cooked and a "spit" that secures your whole chicken."

"and I absolutely love being able to cook two different things and match their cook time."
"There's even a thermometer and a setting system to get the internal temp to a preferred temp. "Is that chicken juicy or raw? Turns out it's juicy since internal temp hit 180.""

"The off gassing on mine was terrible."
"How long does it take for the plastic smell to go away? I just got one and can't handle the smell 😩 ... Right? It's so bad and the plastic smell gets into the food. ... I did that and it still stinks 😂 I just use it for reheating food now since I don't have a microwave lol the taste is less noticeable though"
"It's all cheap plastic construction"

"The basket developed a small hole on it, due to rubbing when it’s inserted/removed (which is a design flaw in my opinion)."

"Id give up the extra quart of capacity to get the flexability of that big basket for when I am doign something that doesnt fit well in the smaller side by side baskets."
"Ninja's removable plate design would always result in a soggy underside if I overfilled due to the air being unable to circulate."
"is VERY small"
Very good thinking. I personally am fine with touch controls - except on air fryers. Knobs are far more efficient. My old Instant Vortex had knobs and was great (I used it every day for 4 years before the handle fell off the basket. PS there were touch "buttons" for power, mode etc., but a knob to adjust timer and temp.
I went for the Instant Vortex Slim 5,7L, a couple of days ago and it's really good for fries atleast. That's what i have tried yet. And Instant pot gets a lot of great user receptions which made the choice really easy because it was only 40 euro's on their official website. No clue if it's available in Ukraine though.
It’s one of the better ones I’ve had outside of an original vortex when the instapot stuff was made in Canada.
we have the ninja side by side. it works fine. you can operate both sides as one, if you want. and you can set both sides to finish at the same time if they have different settings. i don't like that you have to manually pause it if you don't want hot air just blowing out when you open a basket and it doesn't have a reminder to flip like our single basket Instant Vortex does.
I have a 6 quart basket style vortex from instant pot. It is the perfect size for one or two people. I have never had a problem with food coming out “dry“ as long as I’ve prepped it properly. One of the things that I probably cook the most are chicken thighs (bone in skin on). The only prep I do with that is to season them before putting them in. When I cook pork, I do pork loin and sometimes brine it first. I love doing steak bites in mine. One of the things I find the basket style perfect for is “baking sheet meals“. But I also do veggies, potatoes, desserts. I don’t recall ever having a problem with the food being dry.
The Instant Pot Vortex won the ATK comparison. I bought one on that recommendation, but bought two sets of pot grabbers like you take camping to retrieve the disposable aluminum dishes I use for freezing meal preps.
ATK= America's Test Kitchen. I'll see what I can find on pot grabbers. Stay tuned. I have the six quart Instant Vortex. I did have the air fryer adapter for my six quart instant pot, but it was way too small for two of us. If you're cooking for more than two people, I would get an eight quart.
You could get a very fancy rice cooker for several hundred. Goodwill is full of basic ones that just click on. I've cooked curry in these ones. It shuts off automatically. I'd recommend one of these and if you really want to invest in something better after using a goodwill one after awhile you. For more rice cooker recipes there's a reddit community too. For an airfryer I like the Instant brand. I think mine is 6 quart and I can get a pound of chicken in there. I love it and cook a lot in it. It doesn't heat my house up the way the oven does.
Kettle: Xiaomi We've had ours for 2 years, used everyday. No issues. Airfryer: Instantpot Vortex Used regularly for months now, works great. I like the oven style and tray vs basket style because easier to clean. I just pop the trays in a dishwasher along with the dishes. It also automatically preheats and dings to remind you the preheating is done.
The current multi-day bloat sale for the big online giant has the InstantPot Vortex on sale for $90, if you like the basket type ones. Large capacity, cleans up easily. Cooks fast and food comes out really crisp. Not a Costco purchase, but can highly recommend with no regrets.
> this was a big issue when they first came out; I assume they've fixed it by now Can confirm - it had a smell the first time I ran through a 15m air fryer cycle (empty, per the quick start instructions) and I haven't smelled anything since.
