"They're incredible and the best thing is that they have this washable cloth sleeve (pre filter) that goes over the entire intake which happens to wrap all the way around. ... It does such a good job that the actual internal filter stays significantly cleaner and doesn't need to be cleaned or changed as often. ... It's a game changer."
"It does an amazing job of capturing cat fur. ... I have to wash it every two weeks due to how much fur and hair it catches."
"I also like the pre-filter for pet hair."

"the larger sizes have significantly more expensive filters"
"Those filters are crazy expensive, so that purchase turned into quite the "investment"."

"It's still not providing 4-5 air changes an hour to 3,000 square feet ... It's common for air purifier manufacturers to mislead on square footage coverage. The 3,000 square foot is likely based on one air change an hour. That won't be enough for someone wanting a purifier to help with allergies, viral load reduction, dust reduction, etc. ... The Blue Air website recommends 635 square feet for 4 air changes in an hour. ... The 635 square feet assumes the device will be ran on the highest fan speed to achieve the 4 air changes an hour. ... After doing some deeper digging I learned not to trust the advertised square footage. Even some big name publications are just trusting manufacturer claims and are not doing their own testing to verify. Members of this forum like myself try to educate people that we can't always trust the advertised square footage. ... It's unfortunate we can't always trust the advertising. I wish manufacturers would give a straightforward number on air changes you can expect in an hour within a certain square footage and ceiling height. For ex: 4 air changes an hour in 500 square feet 1 air change an hour in 2,000 square feet"

"I don’t like they have an ionizer that you can’t disable. ... Ionizers create ozone, and when ozone reacts with different molecules it creates all kinds of new compounds that can’t be predicted."
"Blue air has ionizers but some of them you can unplug and take out. I had the 211i max and just cut off the ionizer and covered it in electrical tape lmao."

"I think that having a pre-filter like that is the main problem because you have all these particles stuck to it which can become attached to anything or anyone that touches it ( for example pet's fur) and then they carry those contaminants everywhere again. ... I'm in Los Angeles so I got it because of the wildfires and possible asbestos but I'll be returning it because of this design. ... Yes now imagine it sucking all the bad particles from nearby wildfires, for example asbestos. Then a dog can brush their body through the fabric and carry it around until it gets lose in the air again ... I didn't even know the old design was the same way. How can they be rated so high in many websites? Even consumer reports has the of them. Now I even distrust CR"
"OTOH, the two Blueair purifiers are on all the time and we have ***not*** noticed a decrease in the rate at which dust accumulates on the woodwork in the house."
"the auto setting barely did anything unless I literally blew smoke at them"

I have a blueair 211i and 2 311is and I love them. I have noticed a significant decrease in dust and allergy symptoms. I recommend getting at least one for the bedroom and one big one for any open areas.
r/BuyItForLife • The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST! ->Blueair.com, Swedish, excellent products.
r/BuyFromEU • Are there European air purifiers you recommend? ->I'm also liking Coway. I got 3 of the 1512hh for the bedrooms and so far I'm linking them. Then I got the blueair 211i max and realized that the fabric is the pre-filter. I'm in Los Angeles so I got it because of the wildfires and possible asbestos but I'll be returning it because of this design. I didn't it try at, just took it out, saw how it's all attached together and tomorrow I'll send it back. Waste of time. I now got a Coway mega 1216l I hope it works better, it was only $100
r/AirPurifiers • Am I the only one who thinks that those Blueair air purifiers are not the best? ->Yes I know those are really good but they're so expensive. I don't really care where they're made but I just really don't like the idea of that stupid machine washable fabric as a pre-filter
r/AirPurifiers • Am I the only one who thinks that those Blueair air purifiers are not the best? ->Blueair. Super quiet, super effective and moderately costly. They have good special running right now! Consumer reports has them as the highest rated.
r/AirPurifiers • Please tell me which air purifier should I buy for mold and dust particles, or at least the requirements of the purifier ->Winix aren’t bad, blueair is one of the best performing. In my opinion, it’s worth the cost. I’d rather have a product that works AND fast, versus a mid product that was on the cheaper side.
r/AirPurifiers • Is this a good deal and do you recommend this air purifier? ->I love Dyson too but the cost is wild and their filter’s are also costly. Blueair is a sweet spot, in my opinion. Not too much up front and filters aren’t terrible.
r/AirPurifiers • Is this a good deal and do you recommend this air purifier? ->Blueair’s Mac series are quite nice. Their blue line is good as well, just a little bit louder. They will perform well, overall. Consumer Reports shows the numbers, they speak for themselves. The 211i Max is $250, here in the US. Hitachi was even on their lists and only the Dyson Big+Quiet was ranked, right in the same range as the Blueair at twice the price. You won’t regret a blue air. I have 3, classic, blue and max series.
r/AirPurifiers • Best high end purifier with relatively limited options. ->I also have two blue air purifiers for large rooms. 2 story house. Blue Pure 211i Max Some limited information through the HA integration. There purifiers were rated top at consumer reports and we are very happy with them. No more nasty dog smell in our bedroom.
r/homeassistant • Air purifier recommended ->I googled the tests CBC marketplace did on this quickly. The BlueAir **significantly** outperformed a single furnace filter (about 2.5x better) and all other tested brands. Single furnace filter was twice as effective as Dyson. [Source.](https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/portable-air-purifier-tests-marketplace-1.5900782) Furnace filter will probably work great. Don't waste money on a dyson. BlueAir is HQed in Sweden. It is owned by UniLever, which is HQed in the UK. So, BlueAir is at least not American.
r/BuyCanadian • Best Canadian Air Purifier? ->Only some blue air models have ionizers. ~~Most/the most common ones do not.~~ The CADR for the 211i max (which I only pick because I have) does not have an ionizer and still rates ~4x a single Merv 11 filter on a box fan. I still think the Merv on a box fan is great. I only use BlueAir because I know it's effective while also being pretty. I also like the pre-filter for pet hair. Edit: I have learned that it apparently does have an ionizer, but, it's CARB compliant and has passed many other tests that certify it's not producing ozone in any amount that could possibly be dangerous. I think people just want to dunk on it (and use words like ionizing [which we should be concerned about] with no nuance) because they're expensive. But it still works very well and is safe.
r/BuyCanadian • Best Canadian Air Purifier? ->We are in the same boat - we have two dogs in a small house and I’m due next week. We’ve had a Blue Air purifier with the pet dander & dust filter and it seems to be working well - we have one big unit (i think the product is 211i Max) down in our first floor that was gifted to us from my in-laws two summers ago when wildfire smoke was really bad. We just bought the smaller version (411i Max) with the same filter for our bedroom. We had a purifier for our bedroom from Home Depot for a few years but it was not cutting it. The Blue Air’s are kind of pricey, but the filter life lasts a long time and I like that I can control them from my phone (fan speed, see how dirty the filter is, etc.) Also like that they’re not an eye sore and you can pick the color of the fabric that goes over the unit. Looks like they’re running some sales right now too! (https://www.blueair.com/us/shop/air-purifiers)
r/BabyBumps • Are there any Good Air Purifiers for Pets on the market today? ->Most will be loud, on full speed and most will have only 3 speeds. You want one with variable speeds, using a slider in the app. My BlueAir 211i Max does it.
r/AirPurifiers • Air purifier for 300 sq. foot room, that can purposely make some noise? ->We have the 211 Max and we also have the classic 405. I have a tiny 411 in my office.
r/NewParents • Air purifiers in the nursery: best one? are they really necessary? ->None of those “high end” are that good even the Dyson. If I had to choose any of the 4 you listed I would choose the Blueair. I have not heard of air purifiers drying out the air nor have I experienced it. I would choose levoit 600s if you have it available. Relatively cheap, covers a large sq ft, cheap filters, excellent performance. Medifyair MA-50, levoit 600s or levoit Everest air, or blueair 211i. It makes a difference as to how much sq ft you are trying to cover. Make sure it’s one purifier per room as purifiers don’t clean air through walls.
r/AirPurifiers • Best high end purifier with relatively limited options. ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
