"Starkvind is cheaper that other devices on market, but doesn't have user readable particle sensor."

"Sometimes, I just wish it would kick into speed faster, but that's problem with other air purifiers as well - they prefer to stay quieter for user comfort"
Ikea has their Air Purifier (either as a standalone or as a table), that can connect over zigbee. I had a little trouble at first with it, but I remember that someone had made a driver for it.
r/SmartThings • Looking for Air Purifier ->I have two IKEA starkvind tables. They’re automated to ramp up when their air quality sensors detect poor air quality, which is only under one situation. Otherwise the electrostatic filter system and the UV lamp in my air handler take care of my whole house without me giving it any thought.
r/homebridge • What do you think are the best air purifiers for home on the market today? ->I guess it depends on the size of the air purifier you need or how often you need to change the air in the entire space. I have a couple of the [IKEA Starkvind tables](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/starkvind-table-with-air-purifier-stained-oak-veneer-dark-brown-smart-30501958/#content) and a [Winix C545](https://www.winixamerica.com/product/certified-refurbished-c545-air-purifier/). I linked to a refurbished Winix because that's what I bought. I think the Winix is too expensive at the regular price for its size and the IKEA tables are priced decently considering they're functional furniture. In both cases they clean smaller areas, but will eventually change the air in a large space with the Winix doing I think 1700 sq ft in an hour. The Winix integration is cloud based which isn't for everyone but the integration works well. the IKEA models are Zigbee and can work with the IKEA integration if you have their hub or with a generic Zigbee dongle. The filters for the Winix model are inexpensive enough with multiple choices on Amazon, the IKEA filters don't have a generic and you have to get them from IKEA. I think they're about $60 a set delivered, a few bucks less if you have an IKEA nearby.
r/homeassistant • Best Air purifier in 2025? ->I use a Winix C545 and IKEA starkvind purifiers. They’re decent and the Winix filters aren’t very expensive. Still RabbitAir makes some of the best purifiers out there and they’re expensive but Google says there is a HA integration for some of them. If I could spend the money I’d buy one for sure.
r/homeassistant • TODAY - The best air purifier for home on the market? ->I looked for a zigbee one and the only one I found was the IKEA purifier - It is relatively cheap compared to some and the filters are cheap too.
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->mine is the other one - they are the same unit in a different form I think.
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->IKEA Starkvind was the only one I found, I wanted ZigBee though and works perfectly with z2m, the filters are quite cheap too
r/homeassistant • Local Control Air Purifiers? ->The Ikea Starkvind is zigbee-connected.
r/homeassistant • Best Air purifier in 2025? ->And that's a pro. A big one compared to all wifi/bt-connected with custom integrations. I dropped Xiaomi shit because it didn't stop disconnecting from the wifi network. Also i've had enough of seeing their app on my mobile just for 1 product.
r/homeassistant • Best Air purifier in 2025? ->Ikea, several sizes and cheap replacement filters.
r/HomeKit • Best HomeKit Smart Air Purifiers? ->Yes, bur not expensive
r/HomeKit • Best HomeKit Smart Air Purifiers? ->IKEA Starkvind. Can pair directly with Zigbee, so no other hubs
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->I have one, cheap replacement filters make them good option. Starkvind is cheaper that other devices on market, but doesn't have user readable particle sensor. You can buy sensor in ikea separately though, I have both devices at home and am quite happy with it. Sometimes, I just wish it would kick into speed faster, but that's problem with other air purifiers as well - they prefer to stay quieter for user comfort
r/AirPurifiers • Are these starkvind air purifiers worth the price or amount I better off with the ones on Amazon? I'm looking to get 3 but there is very little info on them online or in store, it seems more of like a statement piece than a functional air purifier ->Love my IKEA zigbee one. Reports pm2.5 and it's extremely sensitive
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->I have the standalone one but its the same stuff internally as the table one
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->Obviously, best is subjective. there's just so much marketing BS when looking at airfilters. It's confusing looking at CADR, air flow, power consumption, "up to X feet coverage" etc. It is also super expensive, once you get into purifier + regular filter changes + power consumption if you have a decent sized place. I bought a bunch of Ikea Starkvind units - a mix of the vertical and table top models because they fit the decor, have reasonable filter costs, the carbon filter is separate from the paper filter, + local zigbee control. They have stayed reliably on my zigbee network for 3+ years now and are zigbee routers! They also have a PM 2.5 sensor but I don't rely on that (I have other PM sensors in the room for automation purposes) but it's there. They are quiet enough and move a decent amount of air. Overall, I feel they are a good value. I think other more expensive devices may have better absolute performance in a lab setting, but part of real world performance is placement. The table models work great in my house as actual tables and provide a great placement. the vertical models are slim enough that they can go other locations. The cheapish filters also are part of performance - clean filter perform better than dirty ones and you're more likely to change cheaper ones frequently.
r/homeassistant • TODAY - The best air purifier for home on the market? ->The review u/Temp_st is very thorough. At the store, I thought it was a speaker. This is a good idea as it purifies and is a good looking side table (IMO). If you like it, buy it along with a few years of filters (recommended to change every 6 mos). I did the same with my water filter from Costco. I bought 10 years of filters and luckily the company is around and I bought another 5 years of filters.
r/IKEA • Is the Starkvind worth it? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
