"Every once in a while the air purifier gets turned off or accidentally unplugged. We discover it in less than 24 hours because the room starts to smell like someone is running a humane society inside of a festival portapotty."

"I got a Levoit Core air purifier a few months ago and have been happy with it for odor control. ... I primarily got it as a couple friends are allergic to my cat and have suffered when visiting 😂 happy to report it’s been great in that regard, too"
"I can tell the difference when I run it- even visually, when the sun shines in the room I no longer see all the stuff in the air."
"Having air purifiers was the difference between the air in the house being breathable and not being breathable."

"My Levoit Core 200s is advertised on Amazon as providing coverage for a 1,000 square foot room. In reality, it *could change the air in a 1,000 square foot space but only once in an hour on it's highest speed. You want more air changes per hour. Going by 5 air changes an hour on it's highest fan speed, the Core 200s covers 200 square feet."
"The 200s is rated for 140 square feet based on the CADR of the highest fan setting. ... didn't want the OP to think they're a good option for 700 square feet."
"I have the Core 200s and it's suited for a room under 200 sq feet."

"I got upset when I found out my 4 levoit core 300 were not hepa lol."
"it turned out my models weren’t “true HEPA” as advertised."
"Levoit cleans air just fine but is not HEPA, if that matters."

"the core is just not. It will clean air at first but it is cheap and the filter cost will add up over time. The lack of real pre-filters really kills these things."
"90 days is optimistic for a Levoit Core. ... Just replace the Levoit filter whenever it gets clogged up."
"I’m using levoit filters at home and they’re fine and the 2.5 levels are very low. I can also connect them to home assistant which is a big plus for me so I can monitor the filter level(though I’m guessing this is just an arbitrary use based calculation). But I do regret buying them due to the replacement thing."

"I have had two Levoit 200s and the issue with the high-pitched ball bearing after a few months is REAL."
"We have 2 levoits and even on 1 I can hear it across the room with the TV on. ... They both have an ear-piercing high pitched sound that I can't stand."
\+1 for Levoit. Haven't had a single problem and we have 3 of them.
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->We have the Core 200S-P [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FJ678YK](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FJ678YK)
r/homeassistant • Air purifiers that work with HA ->I have a ~700 square foot 1 bedroom for me, my spouse, and our kid… just adopted two kittens and have 3 litter boxes (reluctantly) — one in bedroom, one in hallway, and one in living room. All stainless steel. If you don’t already have steel boxes then make the switch now! We also use the new Okocat Multi-cat Litter with plant-based odor block (dark green bag available on Chewy!). We have a Windmill purifier, Levoit 200S Core, and another Windmill purifier respectively in those areas. I’m allergic to dust mites and dander but also wanted to eliminate the pet smells in general. I swear on my family the smell has gone away running the units 24/7 and toggling between high/low/sleep/eco modes. Our kittens LOVE taking a dump in the bedroom litter box right as we decide to go to bed 😤🤣 and last night I reached over to put the Windmill unit on Boost mode. The scent discipated within a minute!
r/AirPurifiers • Does your air purifier really remove odors? ->Yes it is possible to develop a cat allergy later in life. There may also be a dose issue where he was fine visiting for a few hours but not living there. I dealt with this personally and this was the advice from my allergist. Make his bedroom a cat-free zone. Clean it thoroughly and keep the doors closed. Get an air-purifier for the bedroom. I use the Levoit core 200. Keep his sheets and towels away from the cats - preferably in his room. His laundry should be promptly brought back into his room once dried - no leaving a basket out on the couch. He can take allergy medicine. There are pills (I take generic Zyrtec) and nose sprays (I take generic Flonase) and eyedrops (I take generic Pataday). You can help to lower the cat dander burden in the rest of the apartment. Keep it clean, vacuumed and dusted. It is best if the allergic person does not do this chore. Consider draping a cat blanket over the couch and upholstered chairs and washing this blanket frequently. I use a large piece of fleece and it works great. It is like a magnet for cat hair and then I just wash it once a week. Your allergic roommate can just fold the blanket up and put it to one side when he sits on the couch. Grooming the cats frequently will also lessen the amount that they shed.
r/Pets • Advice Needed: Partner’s best friend just moved in… and now he’s allergic to my cats!! What do I do?? ->Second these. I have a couple 300 and some 200 in my kids rooms. I love them
r/homeassistant • Best Air purifier in 2025? ->We love this one: LEVOIT Air Purifiers for Home,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FJ678YK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
r/Home • The best home air purifier you've ever had? What's actually worked effectively for you? ->I flashed esphome on my levoit core 200s and couldn’t be happier. I used this https://github.com/acvigue/esphome-levoit-air-purifier
r/homeassistant • What is the best air purifier for home you'd choose to buy? Have you noticed a major difference so far? ->We have and like this one. It works. When I have the bright idea to cook salmon on a piping hot cast iron I get a text from it in my kids room upstairs asking wtf I’m doing. Filters last a while and are pretty affordable
r/Home • The best home air purifier you've ever had? What's actually worked effectively for you? ->Levoit is loud for sure - the 200 is also not gonna be big enough; they say it filters 1800sqft/hr, and ideally your filter will process the air 4x/hr (so the 200s would be good for ~450sqft) I personally (in a 330sqft studio) have a levoit core 200 in the bathroom (where the litter box is) and a core 300 in the main room. The 200 is loud enough (on the lowest setting) that it sounds like the heater or bathroom fan is running. I’d recommend focusing on the rooms with the litter boxes, before worrying about the bigger spaces
r/AirPurifiers • Best air purifier for litterbox odor/pets in 1,100 sq ft home, $200 max budget? ->This creates trace amounts of ozone. Fine for humans but not for tiny lungs and sensitive respiratory systems. Seconding the above, I use the Core 200S with a HEPA filter.
r/parrots • Any recommendations for air purifiers? Ignore the mess, I’m currently in the middle of a deep clean in my room. ->Corsi Rosenthal box. You might be able to build a huge one with PC fans to cover 2,000 square feet but realistically you're looking at two or three of them. It's common for air purifier manufacturers to mislead when it comes to coverage area. My Levoit Core 200s is advertised on Amazon as providing coverage for a 1,000 square foot room. In reality, it *could change the air in a 1,000 square foot space but only once in an hour on it's highest speed. You want more air changes per hour. Going by 5 air changes an hour on it's highest fan speed, the Core 200s covers 200 square feet. So even though Costco might be saying the Homedics covers 1,000+ square feet, it's likely based on one air change an hour. Here are some recs for air purifiers that can filter the air in large spaces: https://housefresh.com/air-purifiers-for-large-spaces/ Again, the square footage is based on the highest fan setting. If you're trying to clean the air in 2,000 square feet, you'll probably need 3 or 4 Smart Air Blast Minis or multiples of whatever purifier appeals to you.
r/AirPurifiers • Best purifier to cover at least 2000 sqft ->I have a Levoit Core 200s. Unfortunately it's underpowered for my space. At the time of purchase I wasn't aware of how to calculate Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR). I still use it but it's more of a supplement. I've had zero issues with it in the 3.5 years I've owned it. I keep it on 24/7. Here is a CADR calculator: https://housefresh.com/cadr-calculator/ It basically tells you what CADR you need based on your room size. The website listing for the device should tell you the CADR
r/AirPurifiers • Air Purifier - Cat Dander and Dust Mite Allergy (LEVOIT Air Purifier 300s?) ->It's a good device. Like I said, I've had it for 3.5 years and I've had no issues. I don't mind white noise so I think the noise level is fine based on the setting I leave it on. My general advice is a purifier for each room unless you have an open concept space/ studio.
r/AirPurifiers • Air Purifier - Cat Dander and Dust Mite Allergy (LEVOIT Air Purifier 300s?) ->The 200s is rated for 140 square feet based on the CADR of the highest fan setting. Not negating your experience of them being helpful in your space but didn't want the OP to think they're a good option for 700 square feet. Doesn't do much for smells. I've had one for years.
r/AirPurifiers • Air purifier recommendations ->For a 300 sq foot room I recommend the Levoit Vital 200s. It's rated for close to 400 sq feet. I'd run it at the next to highest fan speed. I have the Core 200s and it's suited for a room under 200 sq feet. I generally replace my filters around the 30% mark, sometimes 20%.
r/AirPurifiers • First air purifier ->Yep, I go by the percentage. I think they calculate filter life based on hours the device is running. For the majority of the day I have my Core 200s on the 2nd (of 3) fan speeds. At 1 in the morning it drops to low, just because. At 10am it kicks back to the 2nd fan speed. I have another purifier as my primary purifier so the Core is just supplemental. At some point I'll move it to my hallway closet for my cat's litter boxes. The vet seems to think the litter I use is contributing to a respiratory issue in one of my cats.
r/AirPurifiers • First air purifier ->The Levoit Core 200s would work for the offices. Premier bedroom: Winix 5500-2 or Levoit Vital 200s. Living Room: Levoit Core 600s
r/AirPurifiers • Recommendation for 1000sqft Apartment in Los Angeles ->The A231 is loud. I appreciate white noise but the A231 can be a bit much. I can't speak to the Core 300 but I don't find my Core 200 to be loud. I believe the Core 300 has a small amount of pelleted carbon which will somewhat help with smells.
r/AirPurifiers • Cannot spend more than 100. Should I get Levoit Core 300, COWAY AirMega 100, or WINIX A231? Thanks! ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
