"its night mode is whisper quiet"
"how quiet it is. ... it's remained silent at night after a couple of years."

"Literally couldn't think of any pair of IEMs + dongle dacs could sound as analytical as the C3P+ for around $70. ... detail is just sooo much better. The C3P+ is just leagues ahead the I5 in terms of detail and resolution. ... the C3P+ is actually the closest sounding one to really expensive iems or headphone that I have."
"Crazy good from the jump! ... When you factor in they're only $99 and go toe-to-toe with Bose QC Ultra at $299, this is the deal of the year!"
"Can't recommend them enough for the value, sound like $200 earphones."

"They do a good job of removing smoke from the room."
"The thing I noticed most and love about is that I no longer have the smell of my upstairs neighbor cooking wafting in."
"The sensors are amazing. ... Yes whenever I cook or smoke they instantly kick on and work really well."

"I recently found out I have a bunch of allergies- including my dog, so I got these Winix units to try and help combat the allergies. ... Within about 45 minutes of running one in my living room, part of my nose that has been clogged for as long as I can remember opened up. I’m breathing better than I have in years."
"I can tell you they really work. I have a mold allergy, and mold is literally everywhere in outdoor or indoor air with spores just waiting to land in a suitable environment for growth, but I have no symptoms at home with my two small Winix."
"They are also great to have during annual west coast wild fire smoke season and keep particulates in the house undetectable even when it has been horrid outside."

"the medify one sounds horrible- it has a weird high pitch and i can’t stand it even on the very lowest setting. ... i actually sent it back and they replaced it and the second one sounds the same."
"The only smaller air purifier I have is the $200 Conway in my kitchen. Its like a jet engine when on high speed. That's OK when I've burnt something. But there is no way people are running it at that noise level in general use."
"And it’s noisy as hell when I kick it up a notch."

"The app. It's a complete pain in the ass to view any footage ... it won't update the firmware because the dashcam connects to my phone via wifi and if it's connected via wifi, there's not any actual Internet access from the cellular signal so it can never update 🤣 what a joke."
"the map has corrupted multiple times. ... the vacuum has to search the house and create a brand new map. Then I have to reset all my schedules and re-edit the rooms I created."
"it records in minute increments, which makes viewing footage a pain. ... There are an enormous number of files associated with a day of driving."

"this unit has a annoying light sensor that doesn't allow it to run in auto mode in the dark. The sensor is silly and I wish I could disable it."
"I recently got a Winix as well that I like although it has a light sensor so it knows when to go into “night mode.” I thought I would like this feature until winter hit and the sun started setting at 4:30 pm and my air purifier thinks it’s night time and isn’t detecting contaminates without a light on near it."
"The Winix has a light sensor that doesn't allow it to work in auto mode in a dark room. ... If I put mine in auto mode and turn the room lights off it goes into sleep mode which is basically turning it off."

"PlasmaWave is just a glorified ionizer. I personally cannot stand the scent of ionizers, it gives me headaches. ... Anything with an ionizer gives me headaches because of the ozone they produce."
"Both of my Winix air purifiers started smelling like smoke"
"At that point, why bother paying for that feature? Just buy a purifier without the added tech and save a couple of bucks. Honestly, the simpler the better. Too much tech can lead to added points of failure."

"Trashed within the year"
"I could buy a brand new unit for the price of 3 replacement filters."
"winix does the same…pre filter, carbon filter, hepa filter….I still had to change the carbon and hepa every six months."
FYI, the C610 doesn’t have the issue where you have to open the app monthly to get the HA integration to work.
I have 3 and I think they work well. One did get the annoying whining noise after a few weeks so I returned it and bought another, so far so good with the replacement.
I have both and like this one better. The C909 is louder on low-high but about the same on turbo. You also can't turn the indicator lights off on the C909.
This one was $100 on sale and is supposedly rated for more Sq ft than the 535. I also have a C909 which is bigger and uses the same filters as yours but I personally prefer the 610.
Happy with my Winix. I look at the app every now and then and see that it ramps up after cooking, seems to be working well.
Winix C610. Bought in Canada Costco, but here’s the [US link](https://www.costco.com/winix-c610-4-stage-true-hepa-air-purifier-with-wi-fi-and-additional-filter.product.4000295784.html?COSTID=iosapp_deeplink_25.4.5&TRACKING=NO&sh=true&nf=true) for it.
We use Winix from Costco but turn off the plasma wave. They now have a child lock feature too which is nice. Honestly we rarely have dust in our house and it’s such a noticeable difference when we travel or visit family so I truly think they work so well! They’re around $100 but we have multiple throughout the house. We used to have a larger one but tbh it was much louder than the multiple small ones.
C610. The only thing is that’s a “Costco” model I believe. I think Costco always sells things slightly different than what the manufacturer sells elsewhere (sometimes it means it just comes with an extra filter or one less feature etc) but I’m pretty sure you’ll only find it at Costco with those model numbers!
Winix c610 at costco for $99 Which includes extra filter. So you are good for 2 years
The C545 appears to be discontinued and this C610 replaces it. Reading the box it seems to have all the same features as the 545. The box says up to 2 years of filtration, not sure if that is with 1 filter or if it simply includes 2 years worth of replacements like the 545 did. This new unit appears to be somewhat copying the shark unit with the cylindrical design which some may find more attractive. It's $129.99 which is the same price as the 545 was, I wonder if it will get the same $99.99 bi-annual sale. I have a couple C545 units still going strong after 3 years and I'm very happy with them.
I noticed the same. I'm wondering if it's just too new or if it's a costco-exclusive.
I don't have experience with the 610 however I can say that these cylinder units use a more traditional fan than the 545 (blade fan vs squirrel cage), and in my experience yes these cylinder units are louder than squirrel cage fans.
Are you sure it was the air purifier raising your bill? I just checked my C545 and even running on high it only uses about 10 watts which adds up to ~$3.65/month running 24/7, and thats at 50 cents per kwh.(California prices) On turbo the C545 uses 47 watts and the tag on the back of the new 610 says 45 watts so probably similar energy usage.
I'm on mobile browser so it's hard to link so I'll just tell ya! We have the C535 for all the common areas, and the C610 in all our bedrooms. Then for the bathrooms and pantry we use the LEVOIT Mini Cores (I like these for small areas, but I have to change the filters more frequently.)
Been a big fan of Winix and there are some good air quality test videos on YouTube. Some bad ones too such as some weirdo talking about ozone, but another video proved they do not generate measurable ozone. I have 4 different models. Costco had a great deal on the C610 a few months ago, $100 and you got 2 filters and 2 year warranty. The cylinder style seem to move the most air, but the box ones especially with the granular carbon filters seem to be the best. The C610 has a thin carbon layer, but seems to work very well.
I have both. The 610 is smaller and looks better but the 5500 is quieter and has a better sounding hum and is easier to clean the pre filter
I like the Winix refurbs, they look new to me. https://winixstaging.mystagingwebsite.com/product-category/certified-refurbished-air-purifiers/
