I would absolutely recommend getting a higher-end stroller, but only second-hand. We have a Bugaboo Buffalo for all-terrain stuff (we live in the country) and a Bugaboo Ant for shopping and going into the city. We spent a fraction of the new price for both (I think less than €200 total) by buying from Facebook Marketplace. When I’ve tried other strollers, I’ve been struck by how much harder they are to manoeuvre than the Bugaboos, and how easily the wheels get stuck. The only thing that annoys me with the Bugaboos is that they’re a bit of a pain to fold, but otherwise I absolutely recommend them.
I got the Chicco Bravo 3 in 1 travel system at my baby shower and love it! I keep it in the car since the car seat attaches to it. I also got a barely used Bugaboo Ant off Facebook Marketplace to keep inside the house, and I love it as a compact & lightweight travel/short errands stroller.
Agree that the Fox is a bit large, to the point that the folding function gets a bit degraded. We also have the Ant which isn’t super comfortable for long outings, but is incredibly compact and great for train / plane.
We tested at Albee Baby then got a brand new open box Bugaboo for $400 off ($800 vs. $1,200 retail). Still expensive and not <$500, but there’s loads of stuff on Facebook marketplace.
We bought from Facebook Marketplace. Albee is still pretty pricey.
Can you find a bugaboo ant on fb marketplace? It’s the model before the butterfly so doesn’t have the one hand hold but it is cabin approved. It also lies flat in parent facing mode and sits upright. We’ve travelled with it and a buggy board, when kids were 2 and 6 months, and 3.5 and 1 (different trips, we don’t have 4 kids!). The eldest is happy on the board and loves chatting to the youngest if the pram is in parent facing mode.
Based on fantastic reviews, double seated options we ended up with Bugaboo travel bundle. It is the BEST stroller I have ever seen or tried. Its been 4 months and we are still amazed by how smooth it rides, how soft the wheels are, it turns 360 degrees, it has double seats side by side, 2 bassinets, 2 car seats. It is expensive but you can check Facebook marketplace and see if you can get a used one. It doesnt take a lot of space in the trunk and it fits most places except some of the doctor offices. I wouldn't change my stroller for anything else
We tested them out at a local baby store. All our friends have the Uppa baby and we tested it but we HATED it. It felt so heavy, we liked the nuna and bugaboo and ultimately chose bugaboo because with dual stroller the bassinet is on top so you can see your newborn, where as nuna (and uppa) put the bassinet on the bottom???
So far we love it! LO is due in two weeks but I put it together myself (it was fairly easy) and we have tested it out a bunch. We keep practicing folding it and unfolding it so we don’t have any issues when we actually have the baby and it *looks* like we know what we are doing lol
3, a basinette, a travel bugaboo & a thule jogger. don’t use the basinette anymore currently.
We replaced the minu which I hated with the bugaboo whatever small travel sized one is and love that. $140 for a playmat is wild. I think we had a $20 wal mart one. Agree with Chico car seat and now the cosco one. I forget the model but inexpensive
Bugaboo and yoyo for travel for us. Friends didn’t get on with the silver cross, difficult to fold down without losing a finger!
It’s so much lighter than the vista and easy to fold. I have a bugaboo for travel and it’s amazing too
