Got the Nuna Triv next because it was supposed to be lightweight without compromising features. I hated it. Hate the fold. Hate that it doesn’t stay folded/flops open all the time. Hate the stupid buckles that always get twisted. It was heavy/bulky to me. Getting it in and out of my car just pissed me off. Got the butterfly 2 and am so much happier. Is it as smooth as ride as the triv? Nope but my baby could not care less. If you value easy, one handed fold and a lightweight, well-thought out design (the buckles are so much easier!) get the butterfly.
We also started with the Graco prammette, but recently upgraded to the Bugaboo Butterfly 2. The bassinet feature was AMAZING when he was tiny since we live in a very urban area and do lots of walking. Though agreed, it’s a little wobbly depending on how you position them in it. However, our kiddo is big (95+ percentile) and very quickly outgrew the bassinet weight limit (around 3 months) and now even the normal stroller seat is too small for his booty/thighs (he’s not even 5 months 😅). The Bugaboo is miles above and beyond the Graco. It’s ridiculous. It’s so much more smooth, significantly lighter for carrying down our rowhouse steps, and he fits so well in it/seems so much more comfortable. In hindsight, I probably would have opted for the Bugaboo system with the bassinet, but we still get good mileage from the Graco since it clicks in with his car seat (we now just leave it in the car for dr appts).
I don’t have travel system recs but we love the bugaboo butterfly 2 as a travel stroller
We have used the Doona for about 1 year. Just got the bugaboo butterfly 2. Has worked out well for us living in the city and taking Ubers, subway plus driving
We just got one for my very tall 2 year old. The longest we found were the ICandy PIP and the Bugaboo Butterfly 2, we went for the Bugaboo and she can lay down comfortably in it. You can also pack it away in the overhead lockers on a flight, the only con is it was pretty pricey.
I started my stroller journey by buying a highly recommended stroller and hating it... and ended up with multiple ones, which turned into testing over 100 models and reviewing them :) That said: NOT LOVING: Uppababy Vista - rides smooth, but too big and bulky Mockingbird - awful, scary with recalls, doesn't drive smoothly as all Cybex Orfeo - too flimsy Cybex Coya - where do I even begin with this bad fold GB Pockit - not worth your fingers Ergobaby Metro - too heavy for a travel stroller and unfold feels meh SummerInfant 3d quickclose - too good to be true, super flimsy Nuna TRVL - too short seat, too big to take into the cabin and too expensive for what it is Uppababy Minu - too big for a travel stroller model, weird bumper bar and flimsy canopy LOVING: Cybex Priam - amazing, especially the e-version. If I were to get a one full-size stroller this would be my top choice Stokke Yoyo3 - most well-known and guaranteed on board Joolz Aer - smooth ride, great accessories Joolz Hub2 - solid mid-size option Cybex Gazelle - good for 2 under 2 Bombi - good mid-size option Bugaboo Butterfly 2 - didn't like the first version, but these upgrades made it better Mamazing - good budget option Zoe Traveler - amazing canopy and solid stroller Inglesina Quid - cute solid compact stroller
I saw them both in person today and the folded bugaboo looks clunky compared to the joolz which looks so nice and neat but I’m torn because: 1. Will I be annoyed about the recline having to unzip and re zip 2. Basket size - I could easily put in a whole nappy bag into the bugaboo but really struggled with the joolz 3. I really do like the lighter weight of the joolz tho, especially living in the city where there are so many bloody stairs! So will I be annoyed at the bugaboo because it’s heavier and less portable?!
The Bugaboo Butterfly 2 due to be released September 1 is supposed to have full recline. Global got it but not America. The picture linked above is of the Butterfly 1 so depends on how soon you want it. I really like the Butterfly in store. Proper one hand and easy to maneuvre.
I’m holding out for the Butterfly 2 because of this feature. Do you think it won’t have it like the US?
Sorry - I thought you were already referring to the yet to be released one. My bad!
We have the bugaboo butterfly 2 as our travel/city pram and it is fantastic - I genuinely can fold it with one hand while holding the baby in the other and the basket feels quite generously sized too
We bought a Bugaboo Butterfly 2 on a whim right before a trip (had to drive an hour to the only place that had one in stock) and I thought we were crazy spending $600 *on a travel stroller* but that thing has now become our main stroller since our kiddo is 15 months now. The design of it all, how it works, how light it is, how well built, etc., is just superb. We have an Uppababy Cruz which we love as well, but it's so much bigger by comparison that I feel it's only worth it now for when a baby is still in their infant car seat to just connect them in.
