The one I own now bugaboo fox 5 but if all I cared about was style I’d get the silver cross reef 2
Third for the bugaboo fox 5 - I’ve had to use other prams when we’re travelling and it always makes me appreciate how good the fox 5 is.
My wife and I are also torn between the cove and fox 5. One thing we liked about the Cove is that you get a separate bassinet and seat whereas th Fox 5 uses the fabric from The bassinet for the seat. The seat on the Cove lays near flat whereas the Fox 5 it doesn’t(I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t). We found the Silvercross felt lighter and looked better than the Fox 5. The only thing we liked about the fox 5 in comparison to the silver cross was the bassinet collapsed however, it was significantly heavier than the silver cross’ bassinet
We did the Bugaboo Fox 5. Its amazing, super sleek & compact but the wheels are all-terrain. Also works with our car seat!
We had to go through a popular full size stroller for us to find out the hard way - had to buy a second stroller - that vista is way too large and heavy, and takes up the entire trunk of a car - we went with the bugaboo fox 5 and it’s significantly better for day to day.
I think this will depend hugely on your lifestyle and how much you want to spend. Definitely go try them out. John Lewis are great, mamas and papas too. Have a go steering, folding and unfolding etc. I would also say it’s probably a bit like wedding dress shopping, don’t try things that are out of your budget because it might make the things that are in budget feel a bit less appealing. (Also you could plan to try something more expensive but then buy second hand, there are brilliant refurbished options). We went for bugaboo fox 5 and a cybex cloud T I size (I think!) very happy with this setup so far. The old fox 5 model can be bought much cheaper now that they bought out the new fabrics for the renew. Positives: We wanted a pram that worked well for difficult terrain because I have dogs. This basically wholly governed the system we went for. I wear my babe most of the time for walks but wanted a pram that could be used in the woods, fields etc. I also wanted something that could be steered easily with one hand (leaving a hand for dog lead) and could be folded and unfolded one handed. Fox does all that well IMO. The cybex reclining almost flat is brilliant for popping into a shop without needing to disturb babe moving them into the bassinet. I also can’t imagine not being able to rotate the car seat to get them in and out. It’s a game changer. Made it much more comfortable for me especially post C-section. Negatives: I will say the bugaboo fox is heavy (although it doesn’t bother me). It also is big, we have a large estate style boot in our car and the pram still takes up almost all of it when using the bassinet. It would be terrible if you lived in a flat and needed to store it in the house and take it up and down stairs etc. I think we will probably get a light travel pram second hand for weekends away or any international travel for this reason. Good luck!
We have the bugaboo fox 5, it’s expensive but to me it’s worth it. Safe, sturdy, easy to put in the car, great in parks / city / cobble stone walks etc, lots of good storage, now our son is sitting up he loves being out and about (it’s also easy to recline when he falls asleep). I know it’s a lot of money, we live where we can walk everywhere so we get a lot of use out of it. That’s how I justified it anyway!!
We have the bugaboo fox 5 and we're really happy with it. I think we tried out every pram in the UK before deciding! It pushes really nicely. The bassinet is bulky in the car though. It depends on your lifestyle. I wouldn't want to be taking it on the underground but we live in the North West in a semi-rural location and it's absolutely ideal
Depends how your going to be using your stroller. If your going to be walking/jogging down that dirt road regularly or be in rural areas a lot, your gonna want some sort of jogger stroller or something with inflatable wheels. If your going to keep it in your vehicle and use it for when your going shopping in the city, going out to eat, and use it for an urban sort of lifestyle, with tad bits of times you walk the stroller on gravel, grass, etc, maybe a good all terrain full stroller with good suspension like Uppababy Cruz, Nuna Mixx Next, Bugaboo Fox 5. If you want something more budget friendly in this category maybe the Chicco Corso or Bravo stroller,Graco Modes Nest 2 grow. Jogger strollers include BabyJogger city mini gt, Thule Urban Glide, Guava Roam, Uppababy Ridge, etc. A carseat is 100% necessary, so no matter what, that should be the 1st thing you look at. Find 1 you like, then look at what strollers its compatible with (usually you might have to buy a separate adapter if you use a different brand of carseat from the stroller). You can always look at what strollers already come as part of a bundled travel system with that carseat. But before you even get started looking at carseats, you need to make a decision ifbyour going to use an Infant Carseat (pill bug looking seats), or a convertible carseat (the big ones that stay in a vehicle), or both.
No the fox 5 stroller seat cant convert into an actual bassinet. There is a combo for that travel system though that does include an actual bassinet, but its like $1500 usd. A convertible stroller seat to to bassinet would be a huge game changer in the stroller market though (if it doesnt easily break)
