I'd recommend checking out Bumbleride! They are all-terrain with bike-style air-filled rubber tires. The Era seat does a bassinet mode, or you can buy a separate bassinet. We're on a farm in farmland with no sidewalks and are super happy. We got the Indie + bassinet. It's (a tiny bit) cheaper and lighter than the Vista, and they have a wider range of car seat adapters. The catch is they don't do add-on seats, but they do have a toddler ride board depending on your spacing plans.

r/BabyBumpsWhat were your splurge expenses you're happy with?

The things that will make your particular day easier is where to splurge!! Ours were strollers and a bottle washer, and no regrets now three months in! Best money we've ever spent. We got a Bumbleride Indie + bassinet attachment. I've nicknamed it the ATV, the tractor, the tank. We live rural on a farmyard, outside for hours everyday, and I've yet to find terrain it can't handle. Just recently added a Nuna Trvl LX on sale at a store closing clearout for quick shops/restaurants and some trips we have planned...also the best thing! Bottle washer is fantastic as a formula family. It was an unplanned splurge the day after we brought baby home. No regrets at all, but if I had connected the dots that we don't run the dishwasher often enough to do bottles, I would have bought one second hand ahead of time. I spent everyday for months on Facebook tracking down other "splurges" secondhand, so while they're pricey items we spent Walmart money on them. Things like a Stokke high chair, Keekaroo Peanut, Baby Bjorn, Lovevery mat. A friend gave me a great price on their Snoo they were done with. Those sorts of things that are durable and easy to clean can be bought for great prices used!! Anything that continues to hold up well will be passed to yet another family to love at a discount, too :)

Jumping in to second Bumbleride if you're anticipating gravel/trail/park/snow. We LOVE our Indie! It doesn't come sold as a travel system, but the adapters to pop on the carseat (various brands) are very easy to use.

r/BabyBumpsAm I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers?

I bought the Bumbleride Indie which I feel like handles most of these issues. It’s not a true jogging stroller but people run with it (important to me, I’m a runner). Performs well on all terrain, great on trails (we live near a shit ton of trails). Comparable weight to the insta popular strollers brands and seems to fold fairly flat and stands up on its own. Has attachments for most of the popular car seat brands. Has a built in bassinet that can be used with a new born (but you can also buy a nicer bassinet if you prefer). Can be used from birth until 55 lbs. Environmentally friendly and free of chemicals. Bought the 2024 model last month for like $200 off. Seems like that hits most of your checklist. Only thing is I’ll have to test it for travel but it doesn’t seem that cumbersome to me. Read more here: https://canada.bumbleride.com/products/indie-all-terrain-stroller-new

r/BabyBumpsOverwhelmed with Stroller/Car Seat combo options. What am I even looking for?

It seems to me like most stroller systems have attachments or adapters for most of the popular car seat brands. I think you have to think about what’s important to you. I’m super active and live near a conservation area with a ton of hiking trails that I’d like to take my little guy on a lot of walks on. I just bought the Bumbleride Indie stroller for that reason, bc it handles super well on trails/gravel/you name it and you can run with it. Unlike most other true jogging strollers, you can use it with baby starting on day 1 (not for running, I just mean it’s versatile) and it converts to a bassinet. I haven’t bought a car seat yet but I know it’s compatible with the brands I was thinking about. I felt overwhelmed too, but for me, thinking about what was important to me helped narrow down the choices.

I got the Indie as well. We live near a ton of trails and I’m excited to try it out when baby gets here!

r/BabyBumpsShould we just go ahead and grab a jogging stroller?

I don’t have an answer for you, but you could think about the Bumbleride Indie. It’s not a true jogging stroller but it’s apparently great on different kinds of terrain. You can also run with it. That’s what we got bc we live near a ton of trails, including gravel, and I wanted something that would handle snow well too (I’m in Canada). I know it’s compatible with Chicco.

I have the Bumbleride Indie and I think the only difference is that it isn’t parent facing and has 3 wheels, which I preferred bc I plan to run with baby once they’re old enough. But apparently the Bumblerides are amazing in the snow and we live near a ton of trails so I’m looking forward to testing this out this winter! Plus I loved the lie flat option too.

r/BabyBumpsCanadaAny stroller where you can clip on car seat AND has its own bassinet attachment when needed? [ON]

The Bumbleride Indie has this. It has an attachment for clipping in many of the popular car seat models and has a built in bassinet that doesn’t require any extra purchase. Downside is baby doesn’t face you but that has never been an issue for me. It’s also great on trails/in snow.

This is what I got too and I can’t wait to try it out with my little guy. 37 weeks!

We have the Indie as well! Looking forward to running with baby once he is old enough. Did you wait until 6 months? Also thinking of buying a used Thule chariot for biking.

We have a Bumbleride Indie from 2017 that we bought used. We have one child and have used it from day one through now (almost 5). It’s great to jog with, we’ve taken it on trails, and countless walks. It’s in excellent condition still! Edit: adding that we live in Portland, Oregon and the thing is wonderful up/down hills, and survived our rainy seasons.

I absolutely adore our Bumbleride Indie (it's a 2016, we got it used, but we've used their site to order a couple parts for it like a tire tube and some accessories, they're *incredible* at making sure to have an accessible list of what accessories are compatible with what stroller years and most things are!) and to be honest I'm not sure I'd recommend it for you. I'm a wimp and it's a little hefty, it was our only stroller for a long time but I got annoyed with it particularly for really quick and easy trips. However, it's so solid that we go hiking and all kinds of long adventures with it all the time, and for our only stroller for a long time, it was worth wrangling for all that we did with it. My favorite part is that not only does it have some suspension so it's really smooth, but also it lies flat and the canopy covers up nearly completely so it's a walking nap station and it's been an absolute lifesaver for us personally. Though, we're suburban, not urban, we walk a ton of places but we also drive our stroller a ton of places and it can be pretty beefy to accomplish basically everything we want. I'm not familiar with the Joolz Aer2 but for only urban living (walking, solid concrete/pavement only), I think the Indie would be overkill. As an anecdote, we got a (used) travel stroller in the Babyzen Yoyo2 and like it a ton for the quick and easy and lightweight types of trips, though even on paved park roads, some of them by us are a bit washed out so the aggregate is kind of aggressive which is no big deal for shoes at all but for a baby, that thing gets BUMPY. Can you try checking any of the baby equipment rental sites like Quip to see if anyone has either they can rent out, and give them a shot for a couple days?

Bumbleride Indie or Era are nice to push in any condition and even a bigger kid fits nicely. Full recline in both of these

Yes, I have an old one and I've upgraded it over the years with new parts and car seat adapter. Recently, I bought the buggy board because my new baby needs it and the toddler loves riding behind (haven't used the board attachment in snow yet, but it's durable and made using skateboard materials).

r/BabyBumpsI’m anti-consumption but also a FTM doing her registry. Tell me the expensive crap you bought that ended up being a big waste of money.

I found the most important aspect of baby wearing for hiking, is how often you do it. If this is a weekly event for you, it’ll work because you’ll become proportionally stronger as baby grows heavier. Otherwise, it just gets too hard when from one month to the next you’re suddenly carrying twice the weight. This could be said for baby wearing at large really, I suppose. If planning for extended periods past like 20 mins lol Also, if that describes you, I’d consider a bumbleride indie (stroller). It’s super usable from birth with zero bassinet attachments, the regular “sport” seat also lies 100% flat so it’s safe for sleeping from day 1. It’s also a jogging stroller, with tires like a bicycle so you can add air when needed (has its own pump stashed in a zipper compartment for any need on the go), and you can deflate intentionally for added traction in things like sand or gravel. The canopy is sun-protective. Really I can’t say enough good things about it, two years in. The only downside is I find the undercarriage basket a tad small, I’m very envious of the uppababy baskets lol. But it’s a small complaint. And also something I’d look for used. Set a Facebook marketplace alert for that specific item kind of thing lol

I got my high end strollers second hand! With the first we got a Bumbleride Indie for trails and beaches for $90!— and it’s still amazing 4 years later, we even replaced tires on it. Then I got a used uppababy Cruz for $150 and it’s been amazing as well. FWIW I bought a small travel stroller new (YoYo Zen2) that folds down to carry on airplanes and while we do use it for that, the storage is awful (doesn’t fit anything) and the price was outrageous for how little we actually like it. 😆 Established brands in strollers are worth it imo.
