I did not go with Uppababy because my friend had it and it was huge. I am 5’ 2” and on the go a lot and wanted luxury but not giant. I initially went with the Cybex Priam but it also felt very large lugging in and out of the car by myself. The way it doesn’t technically latch made it awkward to maneuver. We were doing some traveling so I got a Cybex Libelle for the fold but it wasn’t great for under 1 because it didn’t lay flat for nap, so then we tried the Cybex Coya. We took it on to vacation in Hawaii and I LOVED the fold and look, but the seat doesn’t sit fully upright (similar to Bugaboo Butterfly) so my son hated sitting in it. We then bought the Nuna TRVL LX - different than regular TRVL and we love it! It has a one hand fold, decent size basket, nice sturdy bar and lays flat for nap time. I wish I would have purchased this one from the get go for my on the go/trvl stroller since the nuna car seats pop right on it for infants. Given I realized how important size is, if I were to do this all over again… I would have gone with a Nuna Triv OR Cybex Gazelle as my luxury stroller for something with a bassinet and then the TRVL LX for our on the go stroller.
We went with the Cybex Coya and very pleased with it . Great for travel. I will say we have two strollers. The Priam and the Coya. Priam, main workhorse for day to day getting around without subway. coya for subway and traveling around city.
I started my stroller journey by buying a highly recommended stroller and hating it... and ended up with multiple ones, which turned into testing over 100 models and reviewing them :) That said: NOT LOVING: Uppababy Vista - rides smooth, but too big and bulky Mockingbird - awful, scary with recalls, doesn't drive smoothly as all Cybex Orfeo - too flimsy Cybex Coya - where do I even begin with this bad fold GB Pockit - not worth your fingers Ergobaby Metro - too heavy for a travel stroller and unfold feels meh SummerInfant 3d quickclose - too good to be true, super flimsy Nuna TRVL - too short seat, too big to take into the cabin and too expensive for what it is Uppababy Minu - too big for a travel stroller model, weird bumper bar and flimsy canopy LOVING: Cybex Priam - amazing, especially the e-version. If I were to get a one full-size stroller this would be my top choice Stokke Yoyo3 - most well-known and guaranteed on board Joolz Aer - smooth ride, great accessories Joolz Hub2 - solid mid-size option Cybex Gazelle - good for 2 under 2 Bombi - good mid-size option Bugaboo Butterfly 2 - didn't like the first version, but these upgrades made it better Mamazing - good budget option Zoe Traveler - amazing canopy and solid stroller Inglesina Quid - cute solid compact stroller
I went with the Cybex Coya and really like it!
We went from full size (balios s lux), to only travel buggy (coya), to now Mios for daily and coya for travel. Could not recommend cybex Mios more. But Nuna triv next was our second choice. Compact, light but still sturdy and comfy.
I have two strollers, the Cybex Gazelle and the Cybex Coya. The Coya is a teeny tiny travel stroller that folds up so small—I keep it in my car and use it for shopping, errands, etc. The Gazelle is the size of an Uppababy Vista, and I use it for taking walks because it has nice suspension and goes over sidewalk bumps, curbs and grass really easily. It’s the stroller I would use for everything if I didn’t drive most places.
CYBEX! Look on goodbuygear for open box items! I have the Gazelle and the Coya.
Good luck! If you really want to invest and want to help, pick a travel stroller as the best full strollers are expensive. I have a Cybex Coya- most beautiful travel stroller in my opinion. For full size the Priam at about 10 k. But I wouldn’t be happy if someone would gift me just any stroller. It was very important for me to have the same look brand etc with my car seat. Choose something else or just give them a fee ks and they will figure.
Mine are 2 and 3 and we have 4 strollers still although we just sold out Vista double this year. We have a Veer XL wagon as well as two Cybex travel strollers. I also have kept our Doona since we plan to have a third baby
I HIGHLY recommend the Cybex travel system. The Balios is a bit more affordable which I love. And they don't require the adapters like most of them do, even Nuna. They are also compatible with a bassinet which is not an expensive add on.
Are you considering more than one kid? We initially had a hand me down peg perego system that we loved but it got damaged on a flight and we got reimbursed its original price. We chose the cybex over the uppababy as our replacement because both seats can hold up to 50lbs
