i have the exact same situation as you - and because we live in such a walkable neighbourhood where all we need is nearby, we decided on only getting one convertible car seat that we installed in my husband’s truck, which we use for doctor’s appointments, errands and other family outings. for the first four weeks, my husband exclusively wore our baby in a sling (i had a c-section and wearing her was painful for me). we got the Cybex Eos 5 in 1 around week five, since he was going back to work. it’s been a great stroller for us! definitely recommend having a carrier (or a couple of them. we also use a more structured BabyBjorn one now that she’s a bit bigger) and a stroller, especially if you’ll be going out alone most of the time.
i feel like it depends on if you’ll be using a stroller a lot when your baby is young. that said, we have a Cybex Eos; the carriage part can convert into a bassinet, so no extra attachment per se. we take a lot of walks with our baby so we definitely feel it’s worth it for us! and in a pinch, it also works as a change table when we’re out and about 😂 i was also looking into the Mompush Lithe V2, which also has a carriage that can convert into a bassinet. it’s a travel stroller so it’s much more compact, but my husband really wanted the Cybex.
I would 100% recommend it for the City and country life. It's a bit big for buses, but it's great for long walks. The bassinet function also has a larger than normal bassinet (bigger than most brands), which means that as baby gets older, you can use it until they are about 28-29 inches long and they can have a good sleep. I will set it up in seated function, but if baby needs to nap, I'll lay it down flat and baby can sleep in there while I run errands. The only downside is that it is large when you want to fit it in a car. I have always been able to use it with taxis. As for home storage, I was able to fit it in my broom closet when folded, but it did take up space. I originally wanted an Uppababy or a Nuna stroller, but after meeting other parents with those strollers, I am very happy I got the Cybex one. My only complaint is that there is no cup holder or snack tray for baby as they get older.
Nope. It's never been an issue. The bassinet is so large that there is enough room to push the straps to the side. I would suggest seeing it in store, because I didn't realize how huge the bassinet portion was until I started hanging out with other parents at baby classes.
I can only answer as to the padding. My little one found it very comfortable.
I got the CYBEX Aton g swivel with CYBEX eos stroller. The bassinet attachment turns into a toddler seat. I will say the basket only carries 11 lbs and the handle only adjusts so much but I personally really like it.
We got a really good deal on a cybex travel system they clearanced at pottery barn kids (like $300 something total) and it’s really nice. German made and very premium feeling. EOS and aton g combo
I have the cybex eos with anton 2 car seat :) A bit cheaper than the big brands but feels very premium
We love our cybex eos all in 1 convertible bassinet. Now that she’s older we put her in seat mode but when she falls asleep we just release the buckles so she can sleep lying flat. We had the cybex Aton 2 infant car seat and honestly we never needed to put it onto the stroller even though it could replace the bassinet. Recently got the evenflo gold 360 car seat and if we’d known you can use it from newborn to booster mode, we wouldn’t have even spent money on the infant car seat. Just keep the two separate. When we’d transfer her car seat to the stroller to try to not disrupt her nap she’d wake anyways from the motion and light. The bassinet did a better job a dimming and making a bubble for her to sleep in. In the end I’d just pick her up gently from the car seat, and tap her back to sleep in the bassinet.
Go in store to test out several strollers. Reviews will always be mixed since everyone has their own preference. Tip: make sure you have enough room in your trunk and you can lift the stroller into the car yourself! if you’re planning on having two kids, you should look into strollers that can convert into two seats. I’m very happy with my Cybex EOS travel system. It’s on the lighter side since I’m weak LOL
I went with the CYBEX EOS Lux Travel System and I’m really happy with it. I loved how easy it is to fold and how lightweight and compact it is. It worked perfectly with our infant car seat (we chose the Cloud Q), and I liked that this car seat was compatible and we could use the lie-flat feature when our baby was smaller. The stroller system comes with a bassinet, a regular seat that can face forward or backward, and a rain cover. The seat has three recline positions, which keeps baby super comfy, and the extended sunshade is great for coverage. It’s been great on all kinds of terrain so far, and it’s super easy to push and steer, especially with the 360° front wheels. I can literally push it with one hand! The bottom basket is roomy and even expandable if you pull the fabric out, and it holds up to 11 pounds, which is really nice. The handlebar is covered in leather and adjusts in height and angle, which I love. The only thing it’s missing is a snack tray or a spot to put your phone but for me this wasn’t something I cared for in a stroller. I actually like the minimalism but can always add these as accessories if needed. I’ve been using it since my baby was born (he’s 10 months now), and I honestly haven’t found anything I don’t like about this travel system.
I know you didn’t ask but I was between these 2 travel systems and the Cybex Eos. I ended up going with the Cybex due to the quality & price point. So far, I love it - easy to handle & folds nicely, like the lay flat option without needing to have another bassinet attachment, has handled snow-dusted sidewalks well (obviously not deep snow). Just sharing another option for you to consider that I feel is in between the uppababy & maxi-cosi.
has better suspension than zelia! love the eos and you can get it as a travel bundle too with a car seat
