Highly recommend going to physical stores to touch, feel, push, and weigh. For us, the only real option in our area was Target, so we never really had the opportunity to try any high end brands. We went back to Target a total of 3 times before deciding for sure on our final choice, narrowing down each time and researching/reading reviews online inbetween visits. We ended up with the Graco Outpace stroller and Graco Snugride car seat. We liked the size and weight of the stroller (lighter than other travel systems) and overall details (leather handle, rubber wheels). I also knew I wanted an infant seat / travel system that clicked into strollers and car seat bases. Some people prefer to just go with a convertible car seat from the get-go. Baby due any day now so I can’t offer any real reviews, but that’s how we chose. We also seriously considered the Chicco Bravo and Mockingbird (both owned by friends of ours) but ended up with the Graco Outpace for the reasons mentioned above.
We didn’t do one with a bassinet. I purchased the Graco snugride snugfit elite 35 car seat and my neighbor gave me the stroller that the car seat clicks into. It’s just a frame. I think it’s an older model as the ones on Graco website are a bit nicer with cup holders lol. But it’s very similar to the snug rider elite stroller on their site currently. Then we were gifted the Graco Outpace LX for when she outgrows the car seat.
I have a graco snug ride 30 lite with the outpace LX stroller travel system. Car seat clicks right into stroller and then when she’s old enough she can use the stroller as normal. It’s super light and the stroller is heavy duty for all terrain, super easy to push. With that stroller, any graco infant seat will fit in it so you can buy the stroller and car seat separate if there’s one you like better. I have a graco 4ever dlx 4 in 1 for when she grows out of her infant seat.
I have a Graco Sullivan travel system and I love it. The car seat is included and snaps into the stroller. There is also a separate attachment for a bassinet style that turns into a seat for a toddler. All of it is reversible and adjustable, and super easy to use.
I had a 3-wheel convertible Graco one that went with the infant carrier, received as a baby shower gift. It was great on paved or hard-packed surfaces. Could lock the carrier in it either direction, when they got older it changed shape to a more typical forward facing style. Bought a used Bob for more off road stuff....used it all of like 2mo. My child, once she was no longer in the infant seat and could face forward in a stroller, absolutely haaaated not being in charge of her own destiny and direction of travel. So we gave up the idea of a stroller. So honestly I'd not invest in anything expensive, plenty of cheaper used things out there, just in case yours is as stubbornly independent as mine was. 😂
Uppababy Ridge and BOB... had both and amazing, I used it daily in Mtl on uncleared sidewalks etc Not a fan of the Graco 3 wheeled one, had that as well. The suspension system on the BOB just made it feel lighter than the Ridge ETA: Have two kids so tried a few out, just no to Graco. But 100% recommended the Ridge or BOB (but i felt as the kids grow older, my 4-5yr old who was tall still fit in the BOB stroller as our daycare was a 30min walk, but when I got the Ridge he was too big for it)
Used for almost everything, the only thing worth splurging on is a BOB. Everything other than a jogging stroller is the same basic design. The move is to buy them used/cheap as possible, then you can buy multiple strollers that each meet a certain need for the same price as a new “jack of all trades” stroller that won’t be. We have a BOB all terrain (the big purchase, because we run with him) and then an ultra compact one for travel, we also had what was essentially a Graco cart that his car seat clipped into (but didn’t have a seat otherwise) for when he was <1 year.
Hi- mom to a 10 month old. We’ve loved our Graco system. The 3-4 way travel set is the way to go. Car seat, car seat base, bassinet, and stroller all comes in one box, $399. He’s finally outgrowing his car seat now but he’s also 99th percentile in height. And we just purchased the Graco toddler car seat, love it already!
Nobody has addressed this, but you don’t keep the bucket car seat in your car. You bring it inside and keep it inside until you use it, so it’s not like you have to go to the car to get the car seat whenever you want to use your stroller. As others have said, you’re meant to use the car seat in a stroller only temporarily. I have a Guzzie & Gus stroller that lays flat as a bassinet for my newborn. My Clek car seat doesn’t clip into it but I don’t use it like that anyways. I had a Graco bucket and stroller system for my last baby and I would definitely prefer that to those strollers that are just wheels with a spot to clip in your car seat. Feels like a scam for more money lol just be a stroller??
I would also suggest Graco, especially the ones that interlock. I had a 7 year gap between kids and my stroller worked with my newest carseat. Make sure to go for one with a cup holder. Lol
