Joolz aer2! Travel stroller so super compact and it’s the only one on the market that also has a parent facing option and a bassinet option
We have the Aer2 and I think you should do the Hub 2! I wanted only one stroller and I was torn between the two originally but went with the aer2 after they came out with the parent facing seat as that was a big detail for me. I kept seeing things saying the aer2 handles cobblestones/broken pavement well but I think that was in comparison to other travel strollers, not strollers in general. It is certainly not built for that kind of terrain and is hard to steer on uneven ground/gets stuck on bumps but I guess it won’t break the wheels. We are on an international trip now with it and I don’t regret anything because we loved putting it in the overhead bin of the plane and not risking damage and train transit has been easy with it being so lightweight, but if I wasn’t going to travel much I would have chosen the Hub2 for a smoother ride but still compact size.
Joolz also has a 10 year transferable warranty! Big factor in us choosing it over a Nuna stroller which seems to have a horrible warranty
This one is so underrated in the US but it’s amazing!
Joolz aer+ with bassinet attachment (Aer+ cot). Liked the fold better than the bugaboo
You’re asking for two different things. Sturdy and holding stuff = chunky prams with big wide set wheels and a large basket, like uppababy vista. Jogging prams are also heavier/wider for stability Lightweight and easily foldable to put in and out of a car are a different range eg bugaboo butterfly and Joolz aer. You sound like you need one heavy duty and one light travel stroller. I’m yet to find anything I consider lightweight that is sturdy enough to run with or handle rough terrain.
Joolz Aer+ is 13lbs but has a proper seat and one hand fold which when folded has a strap to carry over your shoulder. It’s not cumbersome to carry or push at all, does well on city terrain and is fine on grass despite having travel stroller size wheels. It reclines for naps. The aer2 is 14lbs, you can still get the aer+ as the 2 only came out earlier this year. The bugaboo butterfly is a similar stroller but it’s heavier at 16lbs, and the minu is closer to 17lbs.
If it’s any help I trialled the joolz aer, butterfly and yoyo and went for the aer. It’s lighter and felt better quality. There’s also a bassinet option for the joolz which isn’t available for the bugaboo. Yoyo isn’t a one step one hand fold and felt the flimsiest. When I bought mine the Joolz warranty was 10 years and bugaboo was 2.
We have this as our travel stroller and love it! It's not our main stroller (Nuna Swiv) just because we have a really bumpy neighborhood and walk everyday but the Joolz aer2 is great!
We have the Joolz Aer2 as our travel stroller. It's IATA certified (can go in the overhead bin). It has a full recline so baby can nap well in it
Second this. I had to do so much research and joolz beat all the comparison! run it with chatgpt or gemini to do a side by side spec checks too it really helps. I owned cybex travel stroller and silver cross. Joolz is the best so far.
I got a joolz aer with the bassinet (I picked it because it was the best compact stroller with a true bassinet). Loved it! We changed to the upright seat about 4/5 months because baby started hating lying down but for the first few weeks when baby is fresh and sleeps a lot the bassinet was great for going to cafes and restaurants and having somewhere to put the baby. I also had a carrier which I found really uncomfortable to wear, we lived in a building with no elevator so getting out was challenging alone but I did it, a lot less than pre baby though. You will feel differently about lots of things once baby is here and safety will be one of those. The safest way for baby to sleep out and about is in a proper lay flat bassinet.
London flat - Joolz Aer with bassinet for newborn- 6months
I didn't take the subway when my baby was 2 months. From about 4 months he was happy to sit in my lap so if I'm on a long subway ride I'll take him out of the carrier. I also used the joolz aer with bassinet attachment and could navigate stairs with that on my own.
I live in a walk up and am making it work with a newborn. I actually find getting in and out of the two heavy exterior building doors harder than coming up and down the stairs. Took me a bit of time to figure out getting baby outside on my own but have a system that works now (Joolz aer+ stroller with bassinet and a super compact diaper bag, and just taking my time and not rushing) Happy to answer and specific questions you have.
We’ve got a Joolz Aer with a bassinet and it’s fabulous! Our baby has had supervised naps in it at friend’s houses and we’ve travelled all over the country with it!
We live in rural AB and have two - a Thule urban glide which we use for our outdoor adventures/neighbourhood walks and is a jogging stroller. Our other is a Joolz Aer which we’ve used extensively for international and domestic travel, as well as our day to day shopping, and trips to urban centres! We splurged and got the bassinet and used that for the first 6 months which was nice! We got infant car seat adapters for both strollers but only used them a handful of times - I was much happier to baby wear or use the bassinet attachment. Now that LO is just about 2 and we are expecting our second, we bought a double Thule chariot to have the option of strollering with two but predominantly to use as a bike trailer. Our older one is on the cusp of not wanting to stroller much, and we plan on increasing her walking distance now that the second will be the primary stroller user.
We’ve got a Thule stroller and a Joolz Aer - both wonderful and European brands :)
