First off: congratulations!! Agree with the other user to not get too much upfront. What works for me, might not work for you. That being said, these are my favorites for your wishlist: **Baby carrier** – We both love the Artipoppe. I got it secondhand on Vinted and was able to save quite a bit. I have the irrational fear that the knots of those cloth-carriers could untie, so this seemed foolproof. We also liked that you can very easily adjust it (good because we both used it and my husband has a very different build than I do). Will say that there are people that say a carrier is veryyyy personal, so I guess I was lucky that we liked the artipoppe. There are consults where you can try different options, would recommend to do that after the baby is here. **Automatic/music baby swings** \- we don't have this, we have a Baby Björn. The great thing about this one is that it folds flat completely, which is great for storage or when you want to bring it with you (it doubled as a high chair when we were visiting friends for example). When baby gets a bit bigger they're able to bounce themselves. **Baby bath tubs** \- we have a Bébé-Jou Sense, which we still use ('baby' boy is now 1,5 yo) and like, but it's not necessarily space-saving. There are foldable baths though. **Clothes** \- Doooooon't get too much. Our baby was estimated to be on the bigger side, but came out pretty average so we had to get some extra clothes in a size 50. However, it was a matter of weeks before he out-grew them and (online) shopping is pretty easy these days. Only thing I would recommend to get a decent amount of is onesies (search for rompertjes, never really sure if onesies is the correct term for them in English) and muslin cloths (get a MILLION and then 10 more of those). Brandwise: rompertjes always at Hema (good quality and decent prices), H&M has cute stuff for relatively low prices (but I've noticed the clothes don't hold up too well in the laundry), and I regularly shop at C&A and Prenatal too. Zeeman and Wibra have cute stuff and good basics for cheap prices as well. Brands like Feetje (brands you'll find at e.g. Babypark) are pricier, but hold up very well and are all over Vinted as well. Good to know: sizewise H&M fits really big, C&A and Prenatal really small. I've found Hema to be the pretty accurate. **Glass vs plastic bottles** \- We used plastic ones, from dr Browns (narrow bottleneck). Apparently the dummy from this brand best mimicks a nipple which makes it easier for baby's to accept, and it has an anti-colic vent (no idea wheter this actually worked, but I like to think so lol). I'm interested in the glass bottle too, but afraid that the bottle would be too heavy to hold for the baby (obviosly when they're a bit older, not as a newborn haha) Every baby is different though, so again: don't get 15 bottles before you know which ones work for you! **Bottle Sterilizer** \- this is a hill I will die on, I LOVED THIS! Yes I know you can just use a pot of boiling water, but I hated the process and the fact that our countertop was full of drying bottles and pump parts all the time. We also didn't want to put everything in the dishwasher (though no judgement if you do). We have the Philips Avent Sterilisator SCF293/00 (with drying function) and it is one of my favourite baby-related purchases. **Electric breast pump** \- I have a Medala Swing maxi and it's pretty nice, no complaints (I breastfed for a year, so pumped when I was at work or otherwise away from my baby regularly for about 9 months)! The handsfree one sounds great too, but wasn't in our budget. **Other:** the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair (first combined with the newborn nest and later the baby set), Joolz Geo 3 stroller (we're both tall and this one is very comforable) and later the Joolz Aer+ buggy ETA: sorry for the word vomit, but I'm very pasionate about my baby-related likes haha!

r/BabyBumpsIs it essential to get a newborn stroller, or can you just wear the baby for the first six months?

We're not entirely in the same situation, but I genuinely can't imagine not have a stroller. Babywearing is great and I did that a loooot, but it's also nice to not have your baby's (increasing) weight hanging off you. As far as I'm aware, you also indeed shouldn't keep your baby in a carrier for very long periods of time. We have had the Joolz Aer2 as our secondary stroller since my son was about 9mo. My inlaws live abroad, so we needed (wanted) something smaller than our regular Joolz Geo3 for flying and when we're there, and when we're not (air)travelling we leave it in the car. The Geo is stilled my preferred stroller for longer walks/days, partially also because both me and my husband are quite tall, but the Aer is otherwise amazing: highly recommend! ETA: the standard Aer2 isn't newborn compatible I think, but they sell bassinets seperately and I also saw they recently launched a newborn insert for the Aer.

I had a Joolz Geo and a Yoyo for years. Loved both. The build quality of the Joolz and the space in the basket were what I loved. That thing was my car for years (since we didn’t have one). The Yoyo was ideal for day trips taking public transport when the kid was a little older. But can confirm my kid slept like a rock in both and we used them happily for years. My son actually slept his very first night home from the hospital in the Joolz. He wouldn’t settle so I put him in the pram and pushed him around the house a bit to get him to sleep 🥰

Our stroller (Joolz geo) did cost at least 1400 plus all the accessories, BUT we’ve been using it for 4 years now straight and it’s still almost as new. Absolutely perfection. So yes, it’s an insane amount of money but sometimes with these things they are worth it.

So many options, I’ll tell you what worked for us but there will be so many others. We had a used Joolz Day or Geo for our first child, sold it and when we had our second child (unexpectedly), we bought new Joolz Geo. What we liked was how study it was but you could still dissemble it to go into a small car’s trunk. It had the baby thing to lay in and the upright seat that can be tilted and a load of addons available. BTW these days (kids are 3 and 7), we switched to cargo bike (R+M Load 75) and Ulfbo for trips to parks or Baltic Sea. Life after stroller (can be) expensive but is sooo much fun! Enjoy Berlin

2. I have a Joolz aer and I bought a Joolz Geo naively thinking I would use it for my second baby as a double stroller with my toddler. My toddler hates the Geo for some reason and I'm tired of fighting her so I never use it. I will be selling it.

r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAuPrams - did you regret getting a larger, heavy pram for your first baby?

Whatever you get, I would highly recommend buying second hand! We got a joolz geo second hand as it was what I would have bought new, baby would last 15/20 minutes in it! I was given a really old baby jogger and baby LOVES it! Now investing in a new baby jogger because the old one is falling apart! I’m glad I didn’t splurge on the original one I wanted.

Why don’t you try them in it near the time? The main downside is because it isn’t parent facing you can see them that easily especially for a baby that little. I have the joolz aer + with bassinet and love it but my baby is only small 25centile and just 3 months and already makes the bassinet look small. I used the joolz from birth for my cafe and shopping pram

r/CasualPTEscolher carrinho, ovo e alcofa de bebé
8 months ago
