Nuna - Tavo

I loveee my nuna tavo. Folds easily, super light, carseat clicks right in for easy transport when baby is little, great on all terrain, and has 3 diff modes.

We have the nuna tavo. It’s so smooth, closes and opens with one hand and it’s big and roomy for LO. The seat reclines all the way back and can basically become a bed which is great for when we’re out during nap time.

See if you can find a used Baby Jogger City Mini to use for your trip and resell afterwards (or keep!). I got one for free second hand from a coworker. Didn’t think much of it, but MAN can that thing handle all the bumps and crazy tree roots in our neighborhood. We can take it on trails even. It’s slimmer than our main stroller (Nuna Tavo), less storage space, but handles amazingly well. Our Nuna is actually terrible at getting over tree roots or uneven sidewalks.

I went with the nuna tavo because I’m not really worried about the weight and it’s very all in one. If you’re looking for something small and light it’s definitely not the move but I love being able to either pop her car seat on for quick trips or lie it flat in bassinet mode for longer strolls. It also steers beautifully and has a nice sized basket and lots of ventilation. It’s pretty sizable but it does everything I need it to!

We have a Cybex Gazelle because we know we want a second!! I did a lot of research comparing strollers and I feel that Cybex Gazelle is the best single-to-double for our needs. We also bought a Nuna Tavo for travel from Facebook Marketplace for $150, which his car seat can snap into, and we take it to the airport with us and gate check it. We’re not super concerned about it because it was used, but it’s a great stroller!

Also I don’t know about the TRVL, but the strollers we got is the Tavo, which I guess is full size but doesn’t have a removable seat (which is nice because once you get to your location, you can just leave the car seat in the hotel and use the stroller as a stroller.) The Graco SnugRide clips right into it, and it’s $119 on Amazon right now.

I also had my eyes set on vista v3 but when we actually checked it out at snugglebugz we found it was very heavy. We went with a Nuna Tavo which was lightweight and folded easily. Though I would not recommend the Tavo for anything other than city roads

Like you I also wanted to get the latest uppababy when I was pregnant and looking for a stroller. However, when I actually went to the store, I realized it was so so heavy and bulky that it would be a workout taking it out of the trunk and putting it back. I ended up with the Nuna Tavo travel system which was much lighter and glided so smoothly. I think like others have mentioned you might need to get two strollers for your purposes but I’d definitely recommend you get a lighter weight stroller

Keep in mind that due to getting hot and lack of recline the newborn shouldn't stay in car seat for more than 2 hours (you either use the bassinet or you buckle the baby in the stroller seat in flat position). As someone mentioned, tavo does not support the bassinet. Also, I dont know if its a big matter, but the size of wheels might be important because strollers with smaller wheels (like Tavo model) are very challenging on any terrain other than smooth asphalt/concrete. Chosing a stroller is very hard if you dont get to see them all in person, but i hope you and your baby are happy with your final decision.

The seat doesn’t come off or rotate to parent-facing, and the front wheels I believe were plastic instead of rubber (not sure if they still are). Parent-facing is really about personal preference… I liked it but it’s not a must have. Sometimes I wished I had a stroller like this where I could have both the seat and the car seat at the same time (for the extra canopy coverage and convenience of not having to carry the stroller seat separately). I would say also look at the Nuna TRVL LX if you’re interested in the Tavo!

I’m pretty much in the same boat (also in FL, hi!). I’ve been wanting to get back into running and have been debating getting a jogging stroller. I thought about using my Tavo, but ultimately ordered the Babytrend (double) jogging stroller. There’s been a few occasions where a front wheel gets caught up in the wrong direction with my Tavo and I don’t want to deal with that while jogging. The Babytrend wasn’t terribly expensive, so if it doesn’t work out I’ll try and resell it on marketplace. It arrives Wednesday, so I’ll report back haha
