r/BuyingforbabyNuna car seat + Uppababy Minu or comparable Nuna stroller?

I have the nuna pipa urbn + Demi seat bundle it’s the biggest of their travel system so you feel like you have a full size car seat that is easy to store because it’s compact

r/BuyingforbabyWhich stroller would you choose to use from newborn through todder?

I got the bundle of the nuna pipa urbn + Demi next, this is their bigger one and you can get one that is more lightweight and compact but I personally like the one we got as it has a lot of storage underneath and with bigger wheels it goes over bumps smoother. Pipa urbn (infant car seat) can attach to it which is easier when we have dr appts we can leave baby in car seat and attach the whole car seat in stroller for the days when you drive (this is super helpful as it’s super cold where I live rn) or you can just use the Demi next seat which can be used from birth to 50lbs and reclines back pretty far that I didn’t buy the bassinet attachment for the stroller. My baby personally loves being in it, as soon as we buckle her in she calms down and ends up falling asleep lol. Another reason I got it is because I plan on having another once I past the 18m pp and this system converts from a single to a double with a rider board included as well. It’s a little pricey but I know I’m gonna get a lot of use out of it. Edit: with this being their biggest system it’s still really lightweight.

FTM 2w pp — I got the nuna pipa urban x2 + Demi next bundle and the nuna exec next. It’s pricey but I think it’s worth it. The bundle I got comes with 2 infant car seats that fit right into the travel stroller (single to double stroller as well) and the Demi seat can be used from birth to 50lbs. The travel size stroller is the biggest one they have, it’s one hand fold with bigger wheels and storage than most travel strollers, it also comes with a rider board too. The Demi seat can also recline back almost all the way which is why I decided not to get the bassinet attachment because I was debating on getting that as well. We have two cars as well and I know my family will want to take baby out as it gets warmer (also have a little niece on the way so our kids are gonna be like 2 months apart). Also, plan on ttc baby #2 around 18m pp when I get the okay from my OB. They have a bundle that comes with only one car seat as well. My lease on my car ends soon and once it does we were thinking of getting a bigger more permanent car which is when I’ll install the nuna exec next in there as it’s a convertible car seat that works from infant all the way to booster. I like both the seats because it’s baseless, so traveling with the infant car seat and the stroller has been super easy and convenient.

r/nycparentsCan someone explain the appeal of a Doona stroller?

I took lots of Ubers and just used a travel system that was light and offered latch or European belt path installation. I just had to pop the stroller part in the trunk after a one-hand fold. Still in that same stroller with a toddler seat at 20 months and still loving it

If you're in the burbs you're buying a travel system that clicks into an installed car seat base, and you're going to buy an extra base for every vehicle you own.

We have the Triv (Triv next wasn't out yet) and part of the reason we picked it was the collapsed size - our entryway is not that big, we're folding and lifting to store every time. Take measurements of where you're going to store it and compare it to the collapsed size.

We also did the Triv as a compromise and wound up buying the Joolz Aer for travel. I couldn’t run errands with the Aer’s basket so if we only had one it would be the Triv.

Yeah, the bassinet is pretty far in my rearview at this point...we didn't get the Aer until baby was almost a year old and there weren't any stores in my neighborhood (Forest Hills) I had trouble navigating with the Triv that I could have taken the Aer in instead - stuff like a 6 foot wide cookie shop wasn't happening no matter the stroller, that's a babywear only or send one parent in moment. We also used the rear-facing option on the triv til baby was like 11 months old, but I think that's one of those "what personality is your baby" things that you can never guess in advance. The bassinet era was when little guy was so small, I was prioritizing outside spaces due to concerns about picking up colds etc. I had a colleague at work who lives in midtown and had the Aer bassinet and lived in a walkup and loved it so you may could do bassinet with either. The Aer is narrower but I feel like the triv pivots better? I don't find myself in teeny stores very often these days. I've pushed both around a lot of museums and reached for the Triv to go to MoMA yesterday for the sake of steering. If the restaurant is truly small, I just fold the stroller outside the door. I will say the Aer stands on it's own easier when folded. Our local wee sushi joint we can fit the Triv between two tables as little guy's seat but smaller would be even easier.

r/nycparentsDoona vs Nuna TRIV Next + infant car seat for NYC life — real experiences?

i'm on the uws with a 12-day-old and i'm obsessed with the nuna pipa urbn flex system. lil dude was a late term preemie so we have lots of doctor's appointments (during this wild cold/post-storm, no less) and getting that sucker and out of ubers has been seamless — it either anchors in with the hooks or can be looped in with a seatbelt in 30 seconds or less. the thing glides like a dream too. i'm a first time mom so i've been super nervous and am glad this thing lives up to its promises!

r/NewParentsI never knew baby strollers could be this expensive. But WHY??? Do I really need to break the bank for one?

I have the nuna pipa urbn and stroller combo. Also had a bit of sticker shock when I got it, no idea these things could cost so much. For me, the nuna felt better in basically all the categories when compared to other brands I shopped against. materials, sturdiness/construction, suspension, lock mechanisms, adjustability, comfort features all seemed more intuitive and well thought out on the nuna. I started shopping from graco combos at $400 to chiccos as a step up, but finally ended up with the nuna based on fit & finish and overall build quality.

r/BuyingforbabyStroller "real life" applications v. theoretical worries
about 2 months ago

Just got back from Kona last month. Our main stroller is the Nuna Triv + pipa urbn (which ever comes in that package). We didn’t want to bring the triv so our travel stroller is the bugaboo butterfly v1 + adapters. LO (3months) pretty much slept in the car seat and we carried him for the waterfalls and beaches. We opted to skip out on the volcano as we didn’t have an AWD/4wd vehicle and didn’t want to bounce him around too much, plus altitude. Overall he was comfortable for the most part. We opted to check in everything and carry him onto the plane. Everything arrived in one piece so I was relieved. Have fun!

r/BuyingforbabyWould I regret not getting stroller compatible with infant seat?

We have the Triv + pipa urbn and love it. The pipa urbn infant car seat has been awesome to use with the latch system. We also live in the suburbs and went walking a lot before the winter hit (sept-Nov) and the triv was nice to use. I was able to 3d print adapters to use a uppababy bassinet with the triv and it was super nice. We recently went on a vacation and brought the urbn and a bugaboo butterfly v1. While we liked the compactness of the butterfly we did miss our Triv a lot. The adapters for the butterfly and urbn were just okay to use. Obviously I don’t expect them to latch as well as the Triv and urbn but it took more effort to align the adapters to the car seat. Loved how easy it was to just click in our car seat though. I think that’s the best part of the entire infant car seat debate - it’s just convenient to unlatch them and latch them back into their stroller without having to undo them.

I recommend going in store and testing out strollers if you can. I made the mistake of putting one of the top 3 recommended baby list strollers on my registry without trying it first and I ended up hating it and returning because it was too heavy and I didn’t like the way it folded. We ended up getting the swiv + pipa urbn travel system because I can easily lift both and the car seat works with any car and doesn’t need a base. You might want to look into a stroller car seat combo like the Doona. What works for one family might not work for another so definitely try them out!

r/queerceptionStroller systems as a petite lesbian couple?

Following!!! We are in a similar situation though slightly less petite than you both; however we have some joint and back issues that make ease of use and light weight very important to us. Still TTC (hopefully shortly here) but I’ve done hundreds of hours of research on strollers and car seats at this point (I don’t know why!) and are also strongly favoring the Nuna Triv LX and Pipa system (with bassinet) due to it being lightweight, compact, and easy to fold without sacrificing too much on suspension. I think the Swiv is also something you might want to check out for ease of movement. A lot of these should be at your nearest Nordstrom or high end baby store to try out!! I am also looking at the Nuna Trvl LX for travel, and the Joie Nutmeg (Nuna dupe - nearly identical) is unofficially compatible with the Nuna Pipa for a less expensive option. Both are completely newborn compatible! Noting that the Joie car seats do use chemical flame retardants, but their strollers don’t use them, and are a fantastic option that many people really love. One thing we have totally ruled out is the very popular Uppababy systems because they are just so heavy. I haven’t ruled out Bugaboo with the Pipa because it’s a smooth drive, but still sacrificing a lot in terms of weight and ease of fold. The Pipa is incredibly lightweight (all models really) and such a diversity of options with the maxi cosi adapter, the sky is the limit esp if you have a second child down the road. For car seat, you’ll likely want to go with a 360 convertible car seat once baby outgrows the infant car seat. The new Britax is apparently incredible and several hundred dollars cheaper than the Cybex Callisto. I definitely understand the appeal of going straight to a convertible, but there are a lot of safety benefits to starting with an infant car seat.

r/BuyingforbabyHelp!! Stuck between Nuna Triv LX and Swiv strollers
2 months ago

I was debating between the Nuna Triv LX and Uppababy Cruz 3. The Stroller Mom did a really helpful YouTube comparison of the two, and I ended up going with the Triv LX just because it was more lightweight and compact. I know some people don’t love the Pipa Urban, but a baseless setup works great for our lifestyle. Worst case scenario we’ll sell it on FB Marketplace and get a Pipa Aire.

We are looking at the triv LX not the triv next. Wheels are bigger so you get the push of a bigger stroller but the fold and weight of a smaller lighter stroller. It does come with the urban not the car seat with the base.

We love our Nuna TRIV LX for daily errands. We have the Nuna Demi Next for big outings and long walks.
