Hey OP, I’m so sorry this happened to you. I’m glad you’re all ok! I can’t answer your question re: 3 year olds not running, but I am a mum of 2 y.o. Twins and have tried every configuration of pram for two that there is. My main pram is my redsbaby Nuvo. It’s an inline pram, and the best thing about is that you can have two full size seats, so the average toddler won’t grow out of it in a hurry. You can also have bassinet + toddler seat, which I imagine would be great when baby is first born. My favourite thing about it is the basket space, it’s massive, even more so when there’s just one seat on (which is another advantage of the inline, you can convert it to just single use when toddle outgrows needing a pram). Cons are that it can be heavy when fully loaded with kids + misc stuff, and that the seats can’t recline when both are world facing. Neither is a major issue for me. I also have a side by side pram, a second hand valco snap duo. Pros are that it’s lighter to push as the weight is more evenly distributed, and the seats recline all the way back. Cons are that it’s bulky, basket space sucks, and I can’t use it for the rare occasion when I just have one kid. Another good side by side I see recommended is the Babybee Luna. A lot of twin parents start out with a donkey and move to one of the two I’ve referenced due to the sheer size and inconvenience of having to dismantle it to fold it. Your third option is getting any pram you like and sticking a toddler board seat thing on it. Both of mine have tried them out on my sister’s pram, and it is a good option for when they’re old enough to walk but sometimes get tired or you need to get somewhere in a hurry.
Oh and I forgot to add, the nuvo uses the same seat fabric for the bassinet and full size seat, which is super convenient
We love our Redsbaby nuvo. We researched a lot and went to an expo to check it out. We love how light the frame is for a large pram, the basket size and how it manoeuvres. It fits in my Mazda 2 which was important although little room left for anything else but we make it work.
So we spent a lot of time trying different prams to see what we liked. We ended up trying the redsbaby Nuvo at the Sydney baby expo and loved it. We have been so happy with it! What pram and version do you have? Redsbaby Nuvo How old is it? (New or secondhand?) we bought brand new using the code at the expo which gifted an accessories bundle for free. We purchased it around 1 year ago. What are the pros and cons so far? Pros - the frame is so much lighter compared to other similar prams. That was a big thing for us as I have back issues. It’s easy to put up and down. It fits into my little Mazda 2 boot. The capsule that you can get from redsbaby (britax b-pod) has been amazing! My bub is 10 months and we still use it. The basket is huge and we can do a grocery shop and not need a trolley. Cons - it’s really hard to think of a con, but we didn’t get much use out of the bassinet. It was a bit of a pain trying to fit it into my car. It sat in the front seat on an angle. Anything useful that surprised you? Love the basket and how much it holds. I also find that redsbaby have put a lot of effort into the finishes of the pram. It just looks really nice. Any kind of trouble or problem you ran into that did your head in? We have had no issues at all with the pram. One thing I can see though is that the buckle for the seat is a bit unusual and can be frustrating if you’ve never been shown how to use it. When you clip the buckle in you put it in the click it back so it locks. how comfortable is it for you and the kid(s)? Bub loves the pram. I love how smooth it moves and its turn circle when using it. If you changed prams or upgraded, what did you change to and how is that so far? (Definitely welcomed to tell me about your old one too though) I don’t think we would change anything. I have heard that it’s not as great when in tandem use with two bubs…. But we aren’t at that point yet 😂
It's long! It's longer than my redsbaby nuvo and my son is tall too. His legs go into the basket though but that is quite common with the travel pram style.
Redsbaby nuvo is an awesome pram and if budget is no issue I’d get that and a travel pram or an off road pram depending on your lifestyle. I have the nuvo and a mountain buggy for bushwalks
Vistas are so so common and all the mums I know who have them say they’re huge, hard to fold, annoying to take apart all the time and heavy. I got the redsbaby Nuvo instead and love it
Have a Hyundai i30 and redsbaby nuvo fits in
Just bought the NUVO for my second baby after having an older, single Redsbaby pram for my first. We were under the impression we wouldn’t use a double with our age gap (3.5 years) but my daughter was asking regularly about going in the pram again once she found out i was pregnant. Some days I wish we’d have just bought a double compatible pram the first time around, to save all the faffing, but the NUVO is such a nice pram option I’m glad in a way we were able to upgrade. Great storage, moves well, folds down nicely and has good options for different set ups.
I went to the Sydney baby expo set on the Juno. Saw it in person and it was too big/bulky for me! Definitely see if you can view one in person, if you can. We opted for the Redsbaby Nuvo. Also has the double pram option and adaptors for our Britax capsule/car seat. It's still sturdy but not giant and I really love it. Hated putting it together haha, but overall very happy 😊
I have a redsbaby nuvo but I have twins and so I needed a double pram from the get go. The nuvo is great and I really like it but if I was just having a singleton I would genuinely go for like a travel pram. The redsbaby skip 3 looks really good because it has an actual bassinet attachment as well as the regular seat. I've also heard good things about the bugaboo butterfly and dragonfly. If you're planning on a second baby in close succession to your first you might want a pram that can be a double though which might rule out a lot of the more compact prams.
With an infinite budget I second getting more than one. I have the redsbaby nuvo and a joolz aer + and use both multiple times a week. If I was rich I would even get a mid size one as well like the bugaboo dragonfly lol. But having one big one that allows for a capsule and big sturdy wheels and heaps of shopping in the basket, and one light easy small one is going to work better than trying to find a unicorn that doesn’t exist
Just bought the Redsbaby Nuvo pram with their 20% storewide for Black Friday, one less thing to worry about 😌
