Stokke - YOYO³ double stroller

My boy outgrew the Yo-yo at 3/3.5m and we also bought a full recline stroller. Saved our asses lol

I started with a Stokke Yoyo then got a Cruz and it was the best decision I've made post baby lol. It handles well on footpaths and in shopping centres, decently on grass, I love the big basket (it fits SO much), I like the versatility of having the seat recline or sit up and parent/outward facing options, and it's sturdy but not so big I feel awkward taking it on public transport.

I started out with the Stokke Yoyo3 as my only pram (with the newborn pack) bc we live in a first floor with no lift apartment with not much space and I get public transport a lot. So it did make sense for us on paper but I ended up getting a secondhand Uppababy Cruz about 4 months in. The Yoyo is great and is awesome for getting around on public transport but I kind of wish I'd had the Cruz from the jump. I have to be so much more judicious with what I bring with the Yoyo bc there is very little storage (which makes sense obviously, it's a travel pram!) and if I'm taking a full size nappy bag I have to carry it, whereas with the Cruz I can throw everything in the basket and take bigger items like a picnic blanket. I just didn't factor in how much stuff I needed to lug around and honestly a big part of the reason I got another pram was just so I could put a pack of nappies in the basket which you can't really do with the Yoyo. I also like being able to talk and engage with my baby on walks when she's facing me, which isn't possible with the Yoyo for 6m+ as it only faces out. And the newborn pack was great at first bc she could lie flat and nap, but from about 4m she wanted to look out and look around so I'd constantly have to take her out. Plus it's just not the best for surfaces like grass, pebbles etc. All that said I genuinely do think the Yoyo is great lol, but it has worked much better as a second pram for me. I will say I rarely ever fold down the Cruz, the Yoyo now lives in our boot. If I were having to constantly fold it down into a car boot I might feel differently!

I actually was the opposite, I started off with a travel pram with a bassinet (Yoyo3) and ended up getting the Cruz when my baby was 5mo. I still use the Yoyo but the Cruz is my main one now bc the basket space is so much better and I hate having to carry things.

Haven't used the Vista but the Cruz is definitely very sturdy and pretty smooth.

I wanted to like the Stokke but it requires three different manoeuvres to get it closed 🤦🏼‍♀️

Having just purchased a travel stroller, we looked at the stokke yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu v3, silvercross jet 5, and joolz aer -- all comply with most overhead cabin sizing. I would recommend also purchasing the stroller case/carrier so it looks more like a standard carry-on. Some airline staff might make you gate-check regardless of size once they see that it is a stroller. Having the cover/case will reduce that issue.

I have the uppababy vista v2 and absolutely love it. Take the bubs and the dog out everyday for a walk and it’s so convenient to manoeuvre plus it’s great for quick grocery runs. Yes it’s a bit hard to take out/put in the car but I have hatch back so it’s a small car. Borrowed a friends uppababy Cruz and it wasn’t as easy to move around. I also got the stokke yoyo3 for travelling which is handy but bubs just looks more comfier in the bigger pram.

We are also doing it again 7 years later! We just picked up adapters and a clek liing infant seat for a Yoyo, and are rolling without a travel system.

We’re also going to have a 19 month age gap in July. I’m leaning towards the Nuna Trvl Double but mostly because we currently own a Nuna Pipa infant seat and a Nuna Triv stroller. I also already own a Stokke Yo-yo so likely getting the ride on seat for that. I think you have to decide whether you want a tandem stroller (Mockingbird, Uppababy Vista, etc) or a side by side (Bombi, Zoe Twin, Bugaboo Donkey, etc). A lot of people also recommend wagons or jogging strollers but I’ve vetoed those options for myself personally.

Looks like your boot is deeper rather than long - you’ll need to remove the parcel shelf and stand a pram frame upright if it’s around that size. Alternatively, some compact/travel prams come with bassinet add ons to make them newborn compatible including the stokke yo-yo (previous babyzen yo-yo) and the baby jogger city tour 2.
