"I love the extra space. ... Our dog is a big fan of hanging in the tent at night, so we can put him in and with the vestibule, he has lots of space to hang. ... If it rains, we have plenty of space for activities in the tent."
"As for our set up, my man and I like to sleep on 2 separate twin pads against the walls with room in the middle for standing and moving around. We each put our bags at our feet with plenty of spare room. We’re very comfortable in it."
"I like to have enough room to stand, and bring a chair and small table inside incase it rains."

"Love my Coleman Darkroom for car camping. ... I need to use a lantern to see during daylight hours with the rain fly on."

"It’s easy to pop up and take down. ... Takes about 7 minutes total to put up and even less to take down."
"It’s super easy to put up. ... My man and I can assemble it in under 5 minutes without any bickering. ... A single person could probably assemble it if they practiced and weren’t in a rush."
"it goes up in about 90 seconds, not counting staking."

"Buy Coleman with the Dark Room tech, or a brand with similar like Logos. ... They will get insanely hot and keeping out the sun is the only way they are useful."

"my only complaint would be the windows are high so there is not much air flow low down."

"After finishing up a trip this past weekend up in Maine I found out that my new 6 person Coleman tent is not water resistant to rain. ... I always thought Coleman made a decent tent until this past weekend when I found out the hardway with water seeping through every seem of the tent"

"The zippers come together at the ground in the middle. There's nothing holding it taut, so you can't unzip it one handed and it's on the ground. It's extremely frustrating if you're carrying anything."

"I got caught in heavy storms in a field with a Coleman darkroom tent last year, it completely flattened and the poles split on two sides."

"Plus, there are large holes on the sides of the vestibule for cords or whatever, so you'll get plenty of bugs in there."
6-8 person tent. Coleman makes dark ones. They’re great and help to sleep in. Love the vestibule options. I’d recommend something you can stand in. It’ll just be more comfortable. The more straight sided tents are nice because you have more standing space than dome tents.
r/camping • Parents who camp, need a tent rec! ->I got a Coleman Carlsbad darkroom 8 person tent for like $125. It's a discontinued model so it's cheap, has a huge vestibule, and stays cool in the heat. For a budget tent I'm super happy with it! Honestly I'd probably get the 6 person version for just two people because the eight is huge.
r/CampingGear • Costway glamping tent any good? ->Check out the coleman carlsbad dark room. If they aren't dark enough, get a tarp and string it up around nearby trees over the top of it. When my daughter was young, we took her camping and found that a white noise generator got her through the night, so it's something to consider.
r/CampingGear • Good 6 person tent that can block out all light? ->I have the 8p Carlsbad (darkroom). Got it on sale for $95! So far, I love it!
r/camping • Coleman, skydome w/ dark room tech 10P ->Yes, my Carlsbad had a white strip on the bottom and when you tear it off, the bag expands quite a bit.
r/camping • Coleman, skydome w/ dark room tech 10P ->I have the Coleman Carlsbad 4 person black out tent. It has a porch with a drain screen built into the floor. I absolutely love that tent, can't go wrong with Coleman.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->I’m currently sitting in a tent similar to the first one (Coleman Carlsbad Dark Room with Screened Porch). Personally, we love it! We also have a Big Agnes Big House 4 which we love too and is of higher quality than the Coleman, but with little kids, having the blackout feature is really nice. Happy to answer any questions!
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->I have the Coleman Montana and the Coleman Carlsbad. Love the Montana, but the footprint is huge. We don't camp a ton, but this is our most-used tent and is plenty spacious for our family of 4. I hate the Carlsbad. Ours is only 4p, so idk if the 8p is taller, but I can't stand up in it. But the *worst* feature is the vestibule. The zippers come together at the ground in the middle. There's nothing holding it taut, so you can't unzip it one handed *and* it's on the ground. It's extremely frustrating if you're carrying anything. Plus, there are large holes on the sides of the vestibule for cords or whatever, so you'll get plenty of bugs in there.
r/camping • I've narrowed down my tent search, let me hear your pros & cons on these please! ->Coleman Carlsbad. Easy up and dark. Love mine
r/camping • Best Black out tent? ->We have a Coleman dark room tent with vestibule. I highly recommend it. I love the extra space. Our dog is a big fan of hanging in the tent at night, so we can put him in and with the vestibule, he has lots of space to hang. If it rains, we have plenty of space for activities in the tent. We use tarps for rain. I hate dealing with wet tents and tarps keep the tent dry. It’s easy to set up and can give more space to hang out.
r/camping • Blackout tents worth it? Rainfly help! ->We just camped in a Coleman with a "porch" and that is a real game-changer! 4-6 person was pretty big for 2 gals, but it was easy and comfy.
r/camping • Parents who camp, need a tent rec! ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
