"Shit man, I still got them and they still work great. Oldest one close to 15 years."
"We camped in the poconos last August in like a hurricane and everyone else was screwed and we just sat there like well… glad this works lol"
"I spent $80 on a six person and it went through multiple rainstorms a year. It started leaking after 6 years. Up until then, it kept us dry as a bone."

"It rained heavily overnight, and while the screen porch was damp, we and all our things inside the tent were completely dry."

"I've camped in this for a few summers and it's kept me nice and dry (which is amazing because summer 2023 we had almost 3 straight months of rain here)."

"I love having that screened in foyer. ... Helps with keeping the main cabin clean and if the bugs are bad, I can sit in there and not get eaten alive."
"I also refuse to let bugs into the tent if possible and I had a [6 person Coleman] tent that had a “screened porch” feature ... There were two separate zipper doors, so we made sure one door was always closed (I.e. if you want to go into the main tent area, close the outer one)."
"it has a screened in porch for extra room ... I found the porch to be awesome for weather because it gives you a buffer from a nice clean sleep area and a place to transition while still dry."

"my only complaint would be the windows are high so there is not much air flow low down."

"I find that you basically have to halve the number of people advertised to fit in a tent to get a comfortable experience with space for gear and to be sleeping without being up against the side walls (which can cause moisture to transfer inside of the tent). ... my Coleman rent that is advertised as a 6 person tent but sleeps three plus gear better than it fits 6 sardines."
"We have a 6 person Coleman that is comfortable for 4."

"After finishing up a trip this past weekend up in Maine I found out that my new 6 person Coleman tent is not water resistant to rain. ... I always thought Coleman made a decent tent until this past weekend when I found out the hardway with water seeping through every seem of the tent"
Used coleman for car camping & a spray bottle of 303 Marine Fabric Guard to spruce up the waterproofing. Cheap & easy peasy. Go ahead & get a 4 person for car camping. If it rains you,ll have somewhere to hang out. Save the 2p for backpacking. Here's a 4p coleman Evanston w a porch, $130 incl shipping... on ebay
r/CampingGear • Choosing a first time tent? ->I have a 6 person Coleman Evanston which is very similar to the skydome. I know Coleman isn’t then fanciest name or gets the best reputation, but it is honestly the best tent I have ever had. I love having that screened in foyer. Helps with keeping the main cabin clean and if the bugs are bad, I can sit in there and not get eaten alive.
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->The Coleman cabin camping tent with screen porch works well for me. I love that it has the screen porch for those rainy days, and it also keeps the bugs out since I can create an airlock lol. I've camped in this for a few summers and it's kept me nice and dry (which is amazing because summer 2023 we had almost 3 straight months of rain here). https://a.co/d/bUMx8hA
r/CampingGear • Best 4p Tent for regular camping? ->My Coleman Evanston 6-person is tall enough to just barely stand up in (I'm 6'+) and fits a cot, with a screened front porch.
r/BSA • Jambo staff tent recommendations ->Coleman 6-Person Dome Tent with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004E4AW1K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Plenty big, and has an excellent rain fly for when it rains. Most rain flys on tents like this go down just a little bit over the side of the tent.
r/camping • Any reason not to get a bigger tent. ->I also refuse to let bugs into the tent if possible and I had a [6 person Coleman](https://www.coleman.com/tents-canopies/tents-by-size/evanston-screened-6-person-tent/SAP_2206933.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Coleman_Outdoor_US_2024_DTC_NB_DSA_1861426&utm_term=&utm_content=Tents&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD0GYNpRAxJFLO41csGaoL_J0xMZy&gclid=Cj0KCQjwy46_BhDOARIsAIvmcwNAZQCYgTIW9YOJ5yGtIlhVWP7ae8S5opVIK92495MPci-nO6Eeu20aAsAGEALw_wcB&actionPoint=Show) tent that had a “screened porch” feature, which I believe you can get with other tent brands too. There were two separate zipper doors, so we made sure one door was always closed (I.e. if you want to go into the main tent area, close the outer one). I got mine on sale for $60 and it lasted me two years before I let it get too gross from all the rain/mud 😬
r/camping • Looking for a Multiroom tent ->OP- have you used this tent yet? We are looking at it for our family of 4 (we usually use a 6-person, just for the space), but are replacing our Coleman Evanston 6, because my wife is tired of using a tent she can't stand up in. Not sure if that's a possibility in the Sequoia, but the name does imply some height (we're not tall people, 5'6" , but the Evanston has us crouching everywhere but dead center).
r/CampingGear • Looking for feedback on the north face sequoia 6 ->I have the six person Coleman Evanston with the screen porch, and it fit my Webelos Cub Scout and me with our cots this summer camp, with plenty of room between for dressing while standing up. It rained heavily overnight, and while the screen porch was damp, we and all our things inside the tent were completely dry. It is definitely not a backpacking tent. I prefer putting it in a wagon to take to the campsite. I bought it used, and replaced a broken main pole from Tentpole Technologies.
r/camping • Tent Recommendations for Simple Scout Camp ->I also am a huge Eureka fan. Out grew the pinnacle tent. I found the Coleman Evanston is pretty damn good and it has a screened in porch for extra room and it's been through a few rain storms no problem and it's got a nice fly. I found the porch to be awesome for weather because it gives you a buffer from a nice clean sleep area and a place to transition while still dry.
r/camping • What the best 6 person tent that can with stand heavy rain ->We just camped in a Coleman with a "porch" and that is a real game-changer! 4-6 person was pretty big for 2 gals, but it was easy and comfy.
