The featherstone obsidian 1p or granite 2p are great budget tents that're mostly mesh plus a separate fly

Will go screenshot by screenshot. Note that your $200 budget is unrealistic if you actually want to a good time in wilderness 1: Get a freestanding tent if you're a first timer. Featherstone Obsidian is great budget option but I see it's not in stock anywhere unfortunately. Go with one of the other options suggested in comments. 2: Get a dedicated dirty water container like Cnoc Vecto and use that water bottle as your clean container. Ditch those pots and get a 750ml Toaks pot 3: Lose the multitool. Heavy as all hell and will never use it. Microfiber cloths are great but make sure you're not buying one that's too large. You just need small one to wipe condensation and whatnot 4: Nuke those wipes. TP and bidet is all you need (and powdered soap to wash hands). Don't forget you need to dig a hole for your poop so a trowel is a must. Get the first aid kit if you like but for backpacking you'll only need to bring like 5% of the contents in a ziplock bag 5: Accept this one is going to hurt your walltet. Skimping on sleep system is recipe for disaster. Go to an REI and try different sleeping pads. They will be a lot more expensive but believe me it's beyond worth it to get quality pad that you find comfortable. Same for sleeping bag or quilt. Felt like I was going to freeze to death on a cold night after using a cheap quilt and next trip got a 850 down feather quilt and it was night and day difference. Sleep like a baby now.
