"Size/Weight yes it takes up a decent chunk of room when packed and weighs a lot. ... Also need a large space to set it up which not all camp sites have."
I actually own(ed) and have camped in the Wonderland 6 and the big house 4. We bought the big house 4 looking for something a bit smaller, lighter, and easier to set up when we're only doing a 1 nighter. Unfortunately, we HATE the door design, so much that it's needed to be returned. The door on the big house closes only in the bottom corner, you can't have it closed with the zipper higher up. It also has a lot of snagging issues, and overall not as easy to open/close as the wonderland. In a heavy or blowing rain it is very easy for water to enter here, even when you have the zipper guards velcro'd on the outside. So much water came in during one thunderstorm it saturated one of my beach towels and then some, and the leaking here was a recurring issue driving us to decide we needed to return it. The only down sides on the Wonderland are: Price (if you can wait for REI anniversary sale or similar try to hold our for 25-30% off MSRP at least. Size/Weight yes it takes up a decent chunk of room when packed and weighs a lot. Also need a large space to set it up which not all camp sites have. Set up time, it takes longer than a classic dome tent as it has 4 total poles and a few extra guy outs. We love the wonderland and own 2 of the additional "mud room" attachments that we can bring as needed. Super spacious and the doors work a dream, never had any issues with water leaking in during a storm.
r/CampingGear • REI Wonderland 6 v Big Agnes Big House 6 ->Owned the REI for two seasons now. Given you live in Florida, ventilation may be an issue and the REI has good ventilation. The new design, with the side windows, really helps with air flow. Still it buttons up nicely if you want to keep the warmth in. Set up takes a bit of practice. I can do it alone but easier with two. We have the mud room and that does seem to cut down on ventilation as it seals up that one end of the tent. While it is rated for six, I think the upper end may be more like three.
r/CampingGear • REI Wonderland 6 v Big Agnes Big House 6 ->10 person tents are HUGE. Not many of those that aren't big. People who choose a 10-person tent are generally not worried about space, haha. 1 option is to choose 2 4-person tents. Way more options for 'small' 4-person tents. It would help if you listed a budget. If you have $200 to spend you will have less options than $2000. REI's 6-person tent is really big in car camping standards. On sale for $350 now. It packs down to: 13 x 32 inches. Could this work for you? [https://www.rei.com/product/202982/rei-co-op-wonderland-6-tent](https://www.rei.com/product/202982/rei-co-op-wonderland-6-tent)
r/camping • Tent suggestions! ->Yeah, the Wonderland model replaced the Kingdom a few years back. Similar but different.
r/camping • Tent suggestions! ->I have used the Wonderland 6 and loved it. I car camp alone most of the time with my dogs and was able to easily put it up alone. The tent kept me and the pups dry and comfortable.
r/CampingGear • REI Wonderland 6 v Big Agnes Big House 6 ->REI Wonderland, it's the successor to the Kingdom model. Lots of ventilation and allows for the mud room add one. https://www.rei.com/product/202982/rei-co-op-wonderland-6-tent
r/CampingGear • inexperienced occasional car camper looking for 6p tent recommendations. ->The REI Wonderland 6 is an amazing tent. I have an older version (Kingdom 6) and it’s a beast. The tent is not cheap but it will last. Mine has been ridden hard and put away wet (literally) and is nearly as good as day one. I say nearly because my brother in law set it up the last time out prior to me getting there, and he split a pole. Not the tents fault, user error. Easily fixed though and the beast tent lives on!
r/camping • Tent Recommendations for Simple Scout Camp ->We have that tent! Very roomy, and has held up through several bad storms- think remnants of hurricanes. It definitely a 2 person job to set up, however.
r/camping • Tent suggestions! ->The Wonderland (currently) only comes in a 4, and 6 person version. But the "titanium" version (no, the poles aren't titanium) is [currently on clearance. ](https://www.rei.com/product/227867/rei-co-op-wonderland-6-titanium-tent) If you're okay with a 6 person, my personal favorite is the [Nemo Aurora Highrise](https://www.rei.com/product/241349/nemo-aurora-highrise-6-person-tent). The Kingdom was one of the best things REI ever made for the cost. Glad it served you well.
r/REI • Tent Shopping ->Honestly if you see your self using this for multiple years why not buy a quality tent and be done with it??. You could buy the ozarj this year and have that deteriorate then a Coleman and have that lad a couple. You could do all that or just buy a good quality tent. A tent like this…. https://www.rei.com/product/202982/rei-co-op-wonderland-6-tent Can last many years and will be quite comfortable for your family of course unless there are more than like 4 people. I had a similar one from LL Bean that I bought before my daughter was born and it cost me $500 back in like 2004. I still have and use it all the time. Before you say it I am not rich and actually you could almost call me poor but I get buy. I simply consider myself too poor to buy something I use as much as that cheaply. Buy once cry once is my philosophy.
r/camping • Ozark Trail Tent Experience? ->REI wonderland has been great and often goes on sale. You can also buy the “gear garage” which is designed to attach to it which gives you a massive vestibule sort of like the wawona
r/camping • Affordable 6 person tent ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
