"If you can spend money get a Viofo and enjoy high quality videos ... So practically I have 8mp IMX678 sensor on front camera and 5mp IMX675 sensor on back camera which is all other brands put on front cameras (Rove, Xiaomi etc.) even it is Starvis 2 new sensor it ’s still a 5mp. So back camera performance on Viofo is similar to top brands new dashcams front camera ... Top of the line sensor with 8mp and Stravis IMX 678 sensor - image quality is perfect. ... because I want not just dash cam for the sake of having dash cam, but also best image quality therefore I spend more. ... For now I ’m happy with video quality"

"The number plates are visible in night as well."

"Excellent on all those fronts."

"Connects from the dadhcam’s power cable to the engine noise speaker cable and uses its power directly. ... Allows the dashcam to stay on when parked and it comes with a switch to prevent draining your battery completely. ... Super useful"

"I can set it up a little over kill with a 4 tb ssd, a 512 sd card, and a battery backup hardwired, so when I park it 8 or 10 hours a day it will remain in parking / sentry mode and not kill my battery or record over itself."

"Hardwired into the fusebox, runs about 10 minutes after turning the car off ... it’s been great."

"I've had mine since it came out!! And it keeps going even with same battery it came with but I take care of it / them maintenance wise.."

Yes, it still records even if you are not connected. The WiFi is only for checking clips. If you want something more convenient, check out DDPAI. The N5 Dual is small and hidden, records 4K front and 1080P rear, and has 32GB built in storage as a backup. The Z60 Pro is another option with 4K Sony sensors and HDR, and you can add an interior cam with πlink if you ever need three channels. Both work without needing to keep your phone tied up on WiFi.

r/TruckersDash cam for delivery trucks, what works best?

I’m in a similar situation, driving a company box truck where management pretends “nothing ever happens on the road”. A few months back, a car cut me off while I was merging, slammed the brakes, and then tried to blame me for rear-ending them. Luckily I had my own dash cam rolling… well, I would have, if it hadn’t overheated earlier that day. That’s when I decided never again. I picked up the DDPAI Z50 Pro after that. It’s small enough to pop on right before my shift, then I just unplug and throw it in my bag afterward. Night footage is clean enough to catch plates in dark alleys when I’m doing late drops, and the app connection is super quick if I need to review something right away. Haven’t had a “brake-check hero” try anything since… but if they do, I’m ready now. If you want a bit more clarity, the Z60 Pro is basically the same experience, just sharper video. Totally worth the peace of mind when the company won’t cover you.

For a sports coupe I get why you would want something that does not stand out. A lot of dash cams look bulky or flashy which can ruin the clean interior. I have been running a DDPAI N5 Dual and it blends in really well. The body is very small with no screen, so once it is tucked near the mirror you forget it is even there. It records front and rear with clear detail day and night, and the built in 32GB eMMC storage means you still have footage even if the microSD card fails. The radar assisted parking mode has been a bonus since it wakes up only when needed without draining the battery. If you prefer a front only setup, the DDPAI Z60 is another option. It is all black so it disappears by the mirror, and 4K UHD resolution with a wide angle view has been great for everyday driving. The Z60 Pro steps it up further with Sony STARVIS 2 on the front camera, so if low light plate clarity is a top priority that might be worth a look. Both setups have been very discreet which is exactly what I wanted.

Been through a couple dash cams over the years. What I’ve stuck with is the DDPAI Z60 Pro. It’s been solid. Front and rear, super clear both day and night. Plates come out sharp even in bad lighting. It uses Sony STARVIS 2 sensors, front cam is true 4K, and the app doesn’t make you fight to get your footage. I’ve got it hardwired with their OBD kit and parking mode’s been reliable without killing my battery. If you want something that lasts and you don’t have to mess with every few months, this one’s worth a look.

r/dashcamsDashcam that can survive heat

I had the same problem with an older cam shutting off in the heat. In SoCal the sun really cooks the car interior so you need something built for it. A lot of people in the driver groups I follow recommend DDPAI since they use supercapacitors instead of batteries, which handle heat much better. I’ve been running the DDPAI Z60 Pro with a 4K front and 1080P rear setup. Both lenses use Sony sensors with HDR so the footage stays sharp day and night, and the app makes it easy to check clips without pulling the card. It also has smart power management for parking mode so it will not drain your battery. Been solid through hot summers without shutting down.

Got a DDPAI Z60 Pro installed on my Jimny, yun 3 channel. So far very happy naman, i purchased it via Lazada, then had it installed by someone who knows what they’re doing. App was user friendly as well.

r/DashcamIs it worth upgrading to a 3-channel dash cam if you’ve got kids in the back?

I use their cam too, I would say you can try Z60 pro, cuz you can pair it with their Mini2X cam to make it a full 3-channel setup. I’ve got three kids myself, but normally one older sits on the front, and added the cabin cam mostly for peace of mind. Now I can just review the footage instead of turning into a contortionist at every red light 😅 Definitely made my rides a lot less stressful. Super clean install, and the interior cam is actually really solid (2K res, decent low light).

Have the ddpai z50, napakalinaw kahit gabi. Try to get the z60 triple cam. (Back, front &,inside) Madali lng sya ikabit halos plug n play lng.

For me, mas ok pag may separate screen at hindi nakasabit sa rearview mirror. Binili ko ay DDPai Z60 Pro. Maganda quality nya hehe kahit gabi.
