Honestly the FitcamX sounds like the smarter choice for a 911 - keeping that windshield clean is huge and the rain sensor install is genius. The Z90 has flashy specs but hardwiring plus windshield clutter in a Porsche feels wrong, plus sketchy brand with no reviews is a red flag
There are two distinct models of the camera depending on whether you have a rear mirror-camera (RS) or not (LS). When you order directly from FitcamX you have to send them a photo of your mirror so they physically double-check that you are ordering the right one. I guess when people are ordering on Amazon they don’t understand this.
Have you heard of FitcamX? They draw power from the auto-dimming rearview mirror harness or the rain sensor connector. No dangling wires/cables unless you also have the rearview connected. Then you just tuck the cable under the headliner.
Many of us on this sub already have them: https://fitcamx.com/products/fitcamx-dash-cam-for-porsche?variant=42956701270188
I'm cheap, I went with a $86 dashcam from AliExpress and it was a huge success. Plug and play, no extra wiring needed, hidden and looks OEM! Yes, it uses the rain sensor. I have the fitcamx using rain sensor and uniden using the mirror tap and both work flawlessly
I have a '25 xrt with fitcamx and it works great. I have the 7 Vents/HD2-Ni000 version. It connects to the Front view camera connector, not the mirror connector.
Im using it the front only. It's decent. But at the price you can probably get something better image quality. I just went with this so it looks oem.
I use fixcamX oem dashcam. I like the oem look
No, but if your goal is powering a dash cam, fitcamx has a custom fit dash cam that powers off the rain sensor under that cover so you don’t have to run wiring to power it. I have a 22 and that’s on my purchase list among other things.
It's a 1 time buy. The app is free and you don't need to subscribe at all. You'll want to buy a high quality microSD card for the camera though. Ideally one that's designed for the write intensive nature of dash cams
