"Super easy. ... Took about 20-30 minutes"

"sets up in under 3 min including stake out time. ... Take down is just as fast and it fits in its storage bag with out much fuss. ... set up in under 90 seconds 120 if you putting in stakes."

"If you can spend money get a Viofo and enjoy high quality videos ... So practically I have 8mp IMX678 sensor on front camera and 5mp IMX675 sensor on back camera which is all other brands put on front cameras (Rove, Xiaomi etc.) even it is Starvis 2 new sensor it ’s still a 5mp. So back camera performance on Viofo is similar to top brands new dashcams front camera ... Top of the line sensor with 8mp and Stravis IMX 678 sensor - image quality is perfect. ... because I want not just dash cam for the sake of having dash cam, but also best image quality therefore I spend more. ... For now I ’m happy with video quality"

"The number plates are visible in night as well."

"Excellent on all those fronts."

"The front cam is 4K, and the interior cam is 2K, which is perfect for rideshare."

"It has an interior camera that can capture both inside the car and the side windows, which help cover the sides of your vehicle."

"mine is 4k front and 1080 rear."

"you can easily link it to the app via wifi, and exporting video is quick and hassle free."

"Yes, you can transfer footage via the app. ... If the dash cam supports 5GHz WiFi, downloads are much faster, even for 4K videos."

"Relatively easy to download/format the card from the app."

"Very reliably unreliable ... having two pairs replaced under warranty and still failed on the third."

"Initially a loud screech blowing my eardrum. ... Then a crackling like you have a car window open going 80mph. ... Then the headphone completely fails; no sound. ... this song and dance will continue until "oops, you're outside the warranty period, thanks for the $270"."

"But the App and my phone just did NOT get along. ... They would constantly disconnect."

"the N4 Pro is just super large."

"Only flaw is that it doesn’t upload to a cloud, to get the footage on it you either need to take out the SD card or be within a 6 food radius of it to access the files through the app on your phone."

I have a Vantrue N4 Pro (3ch) in my car and a Baseus VD1 Pro (2ch) in my wife. If it’s your first time getting a dashcam, I’d recommend the VD1 Pro since it’s a nice balance of price/quality/easy setup. Some cheaper dashcams only record in interpolated 4K, which looks blurry compared to true 4K. Within this price range, the most important thing is to make sure the one you get has good build quality and clear recording.

I have the Vantrue N4 Pro in my Tacoma and an N4 (non Pro) in my wife's 2025 Nissan Leaf. The Pro has wifi capabilities in which you can access the footage via the app. The whole setup is pretty easy, and I wired both vehicles using The Dongar adapters that connect at the rear view mirror (most newish cars have power of some sort in the mirror). YouTube was a good resource for the truck, but hardly nothing for the Leaf, so I had to put on the ol thinking cap. No need to do a hard wire if you don't want to, and it looks clean with no wires hanging. The Dongar usually runs about $30, just make sure you know what pin type you need. Even running the wires under the overhead liner for the rear camera is super easy.

I’ve been using the Vantrue N4 Pro 4K 3 Channel Dash Cam for a few years and have faced no issues whatsoever. It actually saved me recently from a hit and run with the parking mode, lady scratched the hell out of my door and it got her license plate. Only flaw is that it doesn’t upload to a cloud, to get the footage on it you either need to take out the SD card or be within a 6 food radius of it to access the files through the app on your phone.

I have a Vantrue N4pro and Viofo A229. Genuinely this post is so great to create visibility to the general audience of how useful a dashcam really is. I hope it goes to someone who really needs it. A dashcam is truly a need with how driving has gotten.

1) Viofo A129 Pro 2) 70mai A800 SE 3) Vantrue N4 Pro 4) Qubo Hero Pro I have these 4 in my cars. My favorite app to use is Qubo, it’s very user friendly and it’s a breeze to set up and get it running. My favorite image quality is Vantrue, it’s pristine and read things super clear, day and night. My best VFM has to be 70mai tho because the Vantrue is nice but pricey and 70mai does 90% of the stuff for a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps ☺️ Edit: I would also suggest getting front and back. It’s more peace of mind. You’ll have more evidence and more angles covered.

Blackvue, Viofo, and Thinkware are the “big 3” that are considered the best. If you are on a budget I would say Viofo. Great camera at a good price. The vantrue n4 pro is also a really good one as is anything Nextbase, although they can be pricey.

I use a Vantrue N4 Pro with a hardwire kit. I've been satisfied with it.

r/DashcamDashcam without an app

I think I can say most cameras, even if they have Wi-Fi, still can be controlled and used completely "locally". For instance my Vantrue N4 Pro has every setting locally And can be completely used without Wi-Fi, but for instance, if you're trying to get video off, you could use the app and Wi-Fi to make it easier. So I would not necessarily discount Wi-Fi dashcams just because they are not going to use Wi-Fi/App

I have an N4 Pro in my 24 Prius Prime, had it for about a year now. And I can't say I've had any complaints out of it, seems to work just as intended, anytime I've needed video. I've gotten it And it's been good quality. The only thing I wish and this is pretty much the same across the entire market but, I just wished the Wi-Fi would use wider Wi-Fi channels so you could have faster data transfers. But I'll admit I'm being a little nitpicky with that one. And again, it's no different on most of the others.
