"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"
"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"Super easy. ... Took about 20-30 minutes"
"It plugs right into the power source for the lane assist and hides inside the housing for it so I can basically just forget it’s there until I need to grab a clip."
"Dream to fit as it connects to existing "safety eye camera" around rear vision mirror. ... Took 5 minutes. Could do it in one minute next time."

"If you can spend money get a Viofo and enjoy high quality videos ... So practically I have 8mp IMX678 sensor on front camera and 5mp IMX675 sensor on back camera which is all other brands put on front cameras (Rove, Xiaomi etc.) even it is Starvis 2 new sensor it ’s still a 5mp. So back camera performance on Viofo is similar to top brands new dashcams front camera ... Top of the line sensor with 8mp and Stravis IMX 678 sensor - image quality is perfect. ... because I want not just dash cam for the sake of having dash cam, but also best image quality therefore I spend more. ... For now I ’m happy with video quality"
"The number plates are visible in night as well."
"Excellent on all those fronts."

"i have had the BlackVue DR970x Plus which proved bulletproof during the hottest Summer on record last year. my credit cards and ID’s all had to be replaced because they melted and warped, but the BlackVue keeps running without issues."
"I live in Mexico in a place where temps can get up to 45°C (113°F) and by installing it on the black part of the windshield the camera doesn't get very hot."
"been going strong for 6 years now in extreme heat and cold."

"Having recently been in a serious crash in my last car with another VIOFO camera, I was able to simply slide the camera off its mount unhook the cables and now I had all the footage immediately to be able to provide to police and and the insurance company."
"Coincidentally, a few months later, someone tried that, they jumped out of our lane behind me, to try to get in front me, and cut me off going into a construction zone... And slammed into me. ... He tried to claim I sped up to cut him off. ... I showed the dual camera video to both insurance companies, and they the both decided it was entirely his fault. ... Dual cams are awesome."

"About a year and the right bud would last about 15 minutes on a full charge."
"Then they could not be powered at all, screen would show the azlrla logo and shut off."
"doesnt always recharge reliably ... I've set it on the charger 12 hoursat a time after ensuring a connection andstill won't be charged. ... I think the connectors are overly sensitive"

"It does NOT handle the Florida heat at all. ... Constant shutdowns while driving and parked have rendered it absolutely useless. ... Viofo's solution? Kick it down to 1080 / 2k and hope works. It did not. ... The camera is seriously flawed."
"The mirror power is not on when the car is off, so the dashcam will also be unpowered when the car is off, so no recording when parked if u use the mirror power."
"You may get around 4-8 hours in parking mode depending on the state of the car battery and the voltage you set the cutoff to. ... I needed a longer parking mode duration so I've added a dashcam battery as well."

"if you don’t want to hardwire it, you can run into problems. ... One of mine is plugged into the lighter socket which on my Lexus would be powered on only with ignition, on my Skoda it’s always on, I’ve had a few flat batteries as a result."
"it took a lot of YouTube watching to understand the details to do it professionally and safely. ... One of the hardest parts was getting g ng the wires through the factory rubber boots between the car frame and the hatchback."
"Some of the hardest parts were routing the wires through the rubber grommets of the factory wiring of the hatch. ... Can a self install be done, Yes, however after my experience I can appreciate the work of a professional install."

"I ended up buying another one as I wanted a 4K camera."
Viofo A129 Duo, current would be the plus version I think.
Had a Viofo for around 4 years. They're excellent quality, unbeatable value IMO.
This one: https://www.viofo.com/products/a129-plus-duo-dual-channel-dash-cam-front-2k-1440p-rear-1080p-with-wi-fi-gps-dash-camera Although they may have newer ones that I'd go for now- I haven't needed to look since buying this one.
Viofo A129 Plus Duo is a great value 2 camera setup.
I have two VIOFO A129 Plus Duo kits in my cars. I definitely noticed it was an upgrade on the Nextbase unit I had previously. It’s a far neater package than I had. My general advice is to go for something that runs Sony’s STARVIS/STARVIS II processor, which I believe Vantrue uses too. On the downside, biggest thing is that if you don’t want to hardwire it, you can run into problems. One of mine is plugged into the lighter socket which on my Lexus would be powered on only with ignition, on my Skoda it’s always on, I’ve had a few flat batteries as a result. I’ve hardwired it into the Aston as it already suffers heavily from parasitic drain and has terrible issues with keep alive memory (old school British electrics ftw). The hardwire kit has an ignition on power supply and always on power, with a low voltage cutoff so now that unit will automatically power down to preserve the battery. Hardwiring is less daunting than you expect, it took me a few hours on the drive, and I also had to repair and reinstall a sagging headlining at the same time, as well as replace some incorrectly purchased fuse taps. The plus sides are going to be more than just protecting yourself in an accident. You also will have evidence if you are trapped by a yellow box camera for example. It’s really all benefit and if hardwired no downside.
I’ve got VIOFO A129 Plus Duo in both my cars. I would strongly recommend getting a hardwire kit as a lot of car have always on power to the 12V socket and you may end up with unwanted battery drain.
I've always been a fan of the Viofo A129 Plus Duo—it's the perfect balance of video quality and value. The dual-channel setup offers peace of mind both in front and rear coverage, which is super important in today’s driving conditions. One dream feature I’d love to see is AI-powered incident detection that can automatically save and categorize events based on severity. Also, love how Viofo consistently listens to user feedback—keep that up! It makes a huge difference knowing the brand actually cares about real-world usage.
VIOFO a129 plus duo. Front and back. Hardwired with a fuse tap
Mine died after about two years, turns out it was the usb port that died. I switched to the other and it has continued to work since then.
Viafo uses super capacitors instead of a traditional battery, it’s why they last a bit better in our climate. If you’re patient and set up a price watch on Amazon using something like [camelcamelcamel](https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B08577PXK5?context=search), you can sometimes get lucky and get a price nearer to 200. Also recommended is o get the polarising lens to eliminate windscreen reflection.
Depending on the dash cam some will eat power for breakfast. To know how long you can have parking mode for will depend on that, the condition of your battery and how many events get triggered. I tested the Thinkeate U3000, BlackVue DR770X Box, VIOFO A129 Plus Duo, and Akeeyo EYES AI dash cams to show how much power is used by each in parking mode. Watch for more info: https://youtu.be/52nfmtyEEQ8 I also am trying to use a solar panel to potentially have unlimited parking mode. Find out more about the solar dash cam project here: https://youtu.be/BI-fhD5w0m8
I use a VIOFO A129 Plus Duo. It is a front and rear camera. Install was not too bad having done a few dash cam installs before. The front was stupidly easy with an adapter you can buy to connect it to the power for the Homelink rearview mirror (if equipped). My guess it fitcamx uses the same type of adapter. I looked at the fitcamx after seeing many suggestions about it and the one thing that made me stay away from it is I was concerned about how easy it would be to get the footage after a serious crash. Having recently been in a serious crash in my last car with another VIOFO camera, I was able to simply slide the camera off its mount unhook the cables and now I had all the footage immediately to be able to provide to police and the insurance company. It didn't seem like getting the SD card out of the fitcamx would be that easy in an emergency and microSD cards are easy to lose in situations like that even if you did it get it out. This is just my personal opinion based on my experience.
I’ve had the VIOFO A129 Plus Duo in my 4Runner and my wife’s CRV for 4+ years with absolutely no issues. I strongly recommend VIOFO.
