54fighting 0.2I looked at the integrated dash cam for the Highlander. The reviews for the integrated dash cam weren’t great, particularly at the price point. I put a Viofo A229 Pro in the Highlander and am going to do the same in the Camry this weekend.
Top Dead center in the Highlander and intend to do the same in the Camry. It’s a small camera. No complaints from the Highlander driver and expect none from the Camry driver.
6Five_SS 0.2On the r/Dashcam subreddit, you'll see VIOFO is a top rec, for good reason. A229 Pro in my car and now my wife's. They even have an employee browsing that subreddit commenting from their official account to answer questions.

Adventurous-Cold 0.2if you download the viofo app, you turn on the wifi in the dashcam and connect your phone to that wifi network and then open the viofo app. you can then playback videos directly off the dashcam or download the video to your phone. it works pretty well for me, I just had to rtfm to figure out how to turn the wifi on the first time.
yeah I originally had 2.4ghz wifi selected on my a229 pro and it was really slow. switching it to 5ghz made it a lot faster, I can scrub though the video playback without much buffering which supprised me. It is still pretty slow to download a copy to my phone though.
AJ_Mexico 0.2I added a dashcam. It is better quality video than the built-in one. Many dashcams are bad at parking mode because they tend to overheat without climate control on.
Viofo A229 Pro + RTC300 Telephoto camera. Both of these are forward-facing for me. I chose the telephoto camera as my 2nd camera instead of the usual rear camera. Tesla already has rear facing camera(s). Power is from a cigarette lighter to USB adapter in center console. My car is a 2020 Model 3.

No subscription is required and can handle 3 channels (front, rear, and interior).
It's great thus far, and I've read that it has a lot of positive reviews. It's super easy install for front an rear cameras, too.
They're pretty well hidden and out of the way for me. You can see the front one is hidden behind the rearview mirror and doesn't interfere with Eyesight cameras. apevenger 0.2Viofo A329 or A229 Pro, those are the only decent dashcams I know where you can get a half decent footage and legible license plates.

I’ve had both the A229 Pro and the A329; I find the latter to be a better dashcam, mostly for its SSD support.
Dashcams tend to be sensitive to the type of micro SD card you put in them. Viofo recommends only a couple of different types of card for their dashcams. So there's many reasons why that reviewer's dashcam didn't capture his daughter's curb hit. I have used the Viofo A229 as well as the newer A329; both are excellent cameras. Good build quality, nice features, and highly configurable. I've had mine installed throughout two brutal Houston summers (my G70 lives outdoors) and it has survived without problem. I prefer the A329 because it can record to an SSD, which I prefer for several reasons. Good camera -- I recommend it.
