"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"
"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"I just installed my A229 2-channel cameras yesterday, I highly recommend using the ASC connector that you can buy off of Hachi Electronics. Makes it so much easier to hardwire than messing around with the fusebox."
"I primarily game on my Bravia 8 so I opted to keep it in the Sony ecosystem and have that extra 2.1 port since all my HDMIs are used now - just couldn’t do that conveniently with the Sonos."
"Very easy install too."

"If you can spend money get a Viofo and enjoy high quality videos ... So practically I have 8mp IMX678 sensor on front camera and 5mp IMX675 sensor on back camera which is all other brands put on front cameras (Rove, Xiaomi etc.) even it is Starvis 2 new sensor it ’s still a 5mp. So back camera performance on Viofo is similar to top brands new dashcams front camera ... Top of the line sensor with 8mp and Stravis IMX 678 sensor - image quality is perfect. ... because I want not just dash cam for the sake of having dash cam, but also best image quality therefore I spend more. ... For now I ’m happy with video quality"
"The number plates are visible in night as well."
"Excellent on all those fronts."

"i have had the BlackVue DR970x Plus which proved bulletproof during the hottest Summer on record last year. my credit cards and ID’s all had to be replaced because they melted and warped, but the BlackVue keeps running without issues."
"I have Viofo A229Pro for 2 years and a half. No issue so far."
"Yeah they are specifically better in the heat than other cameras because they use a super capacitor instead of a battery to do the final writing to the SD card when the power gets cut by your car. ... Batteries tend to have issues in extreme heat/cold"

"Connects from the dadhcam’s power cable to the engine noise speaker cable and uses its power directly. ... Allows the dashcam to stay on when parked and it comes with a switch to prevent draining your battery completely. ... Super useful"
"I can set it up a little over kill with a 4 tb ssd, a 512 sd card, and a battery backup hardwired, so when I park it 8 or 10 hours a day it will remain in parking / sentry mode and not kill my battery or record over itself."
"Hardwired into the fusebox, runs about 10 minutes after turning the car off ... it’s been great."

"my Viofo stopped working right after 1 1/2 years. ... It stopped working on a really cold winter night and throughout the winter it never really worked. ... It works from time to time now but I'm looking for a replacement. ... Im on the hunt for a new one as well and hopefully it won't break down this time 😅"
"It does NOT handle the Florida heat at all. ... Constant shutdowns while driving and parked have rendered it absolutely useless. ... Viofo's solution? Kick it down to 1080 / 2k and hope works. It did not. ... The camera is seriously flawed."
"Garmin Mini 2 purple video. There are tons of reports of this happening and mine started doing this about 2.5 years in. ... If u press on the glass of the camera it goes away and then comes back a bit later while driving."

"I just ordered and received one and it's been the worst out of box experience I've ever had. ... The minimal quick start and lights on the device didn't match the documentation and it went downhill from there. ... It wouldn't connect to the app, then I eventually got it connected manually and it wouldn't play because it needed an update. ... Of course the update would fail to install every time. ... I spent an hour with support to learn that the battery needed to be at a minimum charge level to update. ... The device doesn't have a way to determine the state of charge without using the app, and won't connect to the app if the charge state is too low. ... In retrospect a simple "charge this device for several hours before attempting to setup and use" in the box would have solved all my issues. ... If it was just off and completely dead I would have figured it out quickly, but it actually displayed lights and gave the appearance that something was working at first and started to pair with the app for a bit. ... It wouldn't play the sound to identify the speaker so I had to manually enter the number as an alternative."
"can’t seem to get them to connect to my system. Keeps telling me they need to update and I get an error. I’ve been on the phone with support twice now doing all kinds of things to try and fix them. Apparently they are sending an email with info to return them within the next two business days."
"found it such a pain to set up"

"The app is hit or miss with connectivity, you can plug in a pc direct to the camera for downloads, or just pull the card and pop it into a computer to pull files."
"Also WiFi need to be manually enabled on the dashcam to access files on the phone"
"The app is not great but works."

"I have the Viofo A229 Dual dashcam installed with a hardwiring kit in my car and in retrospect I feel I should have gone for something cheaper. ... You can buy the hardwiring kit and a CPL filter (if there is one) for the 70mai A510 and still be nowhere close to the budget you'd need for the Viofo A229"
"pretty steep price"
"The hardwire kit and SD card are sold separately."

"But I must say, you won't really be able to read the plates on other cars unless you have perfect weather conditions."
"I wish it was a bit clearer because I got a hit and run overnight and I couldn't read the plate (it was also raining)"
"kept blurring plates"
I have a Viofo A229 Pro dual, install was easy enough and video quality is great. Using a Viofo A229 pro for both my vehicles, 4k at front, 2k at the back. Good night footage as well. You can check with u/viofouae for inquiry.
Have the same dashcam as op, no issues with 50% tint at the back for both of my vehicles.
Yes I’ve had one since 2018. A VIOFO A119 V2 which I hardwired myself w/o parking mode. Last year I upgraded to a VIOFO A229 Pro 2CH which I got a shop to do. Started doing it from my interest in tech but came really handy when I got into a collision on the highway. Unfortunately this is a lesson most people learn the hard way as they don’t think they need one until it’s too late.
His plug and play wiring into the autodimming rearview mirror plug in the overhead is so clean. The two channel A229Pro is super simple to use with voice commands, too, and download videos right to your phone ( it takes a bit since it's over wifi and file size).
Stupid easy install from Hachi as well for the A229Pro 2 channel: https://preview.redd.it/h3s5ge4cu2df1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7855ad65d6f774e7b21d4091b8c79038c8e0ba90
Whatever you do get, look into tapping into the rearview mirror power. Eliminatees having to run a wire to a power source so far away. https://dongar.tech/products/10pin-type-b-lexus-toyota I currently run the A229 pro with wifi to phone to quick access when the car is on. No subscription is required and can handle 3 channels (front, rear, and interior).
It's great thus far, and I've read that it has a lot of positive reviews. It's super easy install for front an rear cameras, too.
They're pretty well hidden and out of the way for me. You can see the front one is hidden behind the rearview mirror and doesn't interfere with Eyesight cameras. The rear is so small it doesn't block the way either. https://preview.redd.it/c5iguy5u4qcf1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26e545b05d271ea466f9bf7d2d2e1c8878a374d2
Viofo a229 pro 2 channel for mine here in WA.
Second vote for viofo a229. Running it on my accord and my wife's crv. I honestly have nothing to compare it to(other then a couple cheap drive cams from like 7 years ago). But it works well and I don't have any complaints.
I got the Viofo a229 pro 2 channel and really like it a lot. It's not tiny so if you want totally discreet look elsewhere. Did a bunch of research and it was between that and the "plus" model by the same company. If you are ok with big files and don't mind getting a 512GB card Id say go with the pro. 4k video is a lot cleaner.
Viofo A229 Pro 2CH is what i have. Hachi has a harness that makes it plug and play while also providing power when car is off for parking mode. He has a black friday sale up right now too
I have the same one, I think I used the door locks (always on) and the usb fuse
Not sure if you made your choice yet but my Viofo stopped working right after 1 1/2 years. Customer service offered to replace if I paid shipping but I declined. It stopped working on a really cold winter night and throughout the winter it never really worked. It works from time to time now but I'm looking for a replacement.
Yup and it's a real shame because I liked it a lot, got great footage and was really reliable up until that point. Luckily I got a massive discount from black friday + using an amazon credit card sign up bonus. Im on the hunt for a new one as well and hopefully it won't break down this time 😅
Viofo A229. Easy to install, supports front and rear cameras. 4k front and 2k rear camera sensors. Supports wireless access via phone app. You can buy a Bluetooth button to save videos or use voice controls. The only annoying thing is when doing remote access, my phone has trouble auto-switching back to the truck WiFi. Otherwise, amazing dash cam. https://a.co/d/2DkImYR
