"Super easy. ... Took about 20-30 minutes"

"If you can spend money get a Viofo and enjoy high quality videos ... So practically I have 8mp IMX678 sensor on front camera and 5mp IMX675 sensor on back camera which is all other brands put on front cameras (Rove, Xiaomi etc.) even it is Starvis 2 new sensor it ’s still a 5mp. So back camera performance on Viofo is similar to top brands new dashcams front camera ... Top of the line sensor with 8mp and Stravis IMX 678 sensor - image quality is perfect. ... because I want not just dash cam for the sake of having dash cam, but also best image quality therefore I spend more. ... For now I ’m happy with video quality"
"The number plates are visible in night as well."
"Excellent on all those fronts."

"It does take a minute to get used to the waaaaay wider field of view the rear facing camera gives you over a standard center mounted rear view mirror. ... I definitely like the wider view more than the standard mirror. ... By the time a car passing you from the rear on either side starts to disappear from the camera view, you can see it in your exterior mirrors."
"goods na goods kung same situation na parati blocked rear mirror ng sasakyan."
"the rear camera helps me know when I’m clear to switch lanes especially if I need to do it with what some would say “less space than ideal”"

"Backup camera is decent and activates when you go into reverse… huge screen for it is a plus."
"I usually keep the display off 99% of the time yet still find the large display to be a game-changer of sorts."
"It’s a massive screen so your passengers get to watch cars around you as well."

I've tested numerous Starvis 2 dashcams and this is the first that doesn't have HDR supported even though the sensor has it natively. ... "So the mirror, when turned off, is just a black screen. I don’t think it can be used as a manual mirror itself. This is important to note because most OEM digital mirrors can be used as a normal mirror or switched to the rearview camera like on my wife’s Hyundai."
"Also, you can't easily check your look in the rear view like you are used to. ... You have to turn off the screen to do that."

"Also, depending on your seating position, I find that the 12" G900 Pro mirror is a bit too large and obstructs my view a bit, and I am ducking a little to see more of the right side of the windshield view."

Wolfbox g900 pro with the gen5diy harness. Plug and play, just had to tuck one wire to the back camera and that's it. It's a pretty sweet camera, worth it for the price and peace of mind
Yea, so long as you have the auto dimming mirror it will work. Take off the old mirror and you'll see the harness drop down, plug the new one in and connect the power to the wolfbox and it's done. Gen5diy is the website, a little pricey but it's so convenient. I had everything hooked up and finished within 20 minutes, you'll spend more time going thru all the settings on the wolfbox than you will installing it
Correct, it only comes with the cigarette lighter hookup to power it if you wanted to go that route. If you want simple clean and fast, then the Gen5diy website, you'll see the options for the colorado harnesses, only like 3 options if I remember correctly. Obviously you'll choose the dash cam harness. Once you unhook the factory mirror you'll see exactly where you plug the harness in, super straightforward. Just took me some time to get the wires tucked back into the plastic shroud, that takes a little time
You want the usb-c option for the wolfbox g900
I just self installed with a hardwire kit a Wolfbox G900 front and rear In my new to me 2019 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback. It was my first hardwire setup and I spent a lot of time on You researching how to do it properly. There is detail on how to correctly use the fuse taps, how to safety wire around air bags and other tips and tricks. Some of the hardest parts were routing the wires through the rubber grommets of the factory wiring of the hatch. Non-pro tip, a wire hanger and electrical tap make for a decent snake. Can a self install be done, Yes, however after my experience I can appreciate the work of a professional install.
I would say to hardwire a dash cam you have to be careful of things like how you route the cables near the airbags as well as how you properly use fuse taps. I just installed a WolfBox G900 into a 2019 Honda Civic hatchback and it took a lot of YouTube watching to understand the details to do it professionally and safely. One of the hardest parts was getting g ng the wires through the factory rubber boots between the car frame and the hatchback. If one is not handy / used to such projects I say going to an installer is the best option.
I went with a Wolfbox G900 Pro for my 2019 Civic Sport Touring I got used in March of 2025. I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos especially for how to hardwire it. I watched a bunch of different ones. Make sure any wires are behind the airbags. Good luck.
That's what I have. Do you find the rearview camera to be zoomed out too much? It can go up and down, but it's not very useful as a mirror because everything looks so far away.
I have FitCamX’s in two other cars (Sienna and Bronco Sport). Great fit, easy setup, works seamlessly. I installed a WolfBox 900pro in my Bronco for dashcam-age and to get a video rear view camera. Bonus, less than a month after I installed it, the Bronco got rear ended and the whole incident was recorded perfectly!
I have a G900Pro and while I agree, some visibility is better than none. My camper blocked my view entirely, so I’m very happy with it. I upgraded my backup lights, so it’s not really an issue, but the sensor definitely struggles in low light. In a city though, night time looks great. The TriPro’s rear sensor is supposed to be a hair better at low light, but like any other sensor, if there isn’t much light going in, it won’t work well. A sensor to rival normal view is not a realistic expectation out of this type of system. https://preview.redd.it/gtxjcrglia9f1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a97954ae8a5d9fe79eb8e2fbd265b4970e7800f2
Adding a little update here: Since having this for about 2 weeks, I've taken it through the car wash multiple times without any issues so far. Also, I noticed that with the power tap that uses the mirror's auto-dimming feature to power the dashcam, when the truck's auto start/stop is engaged, every once in a while the power to the dashcam mirror gets cut as well. That said, I've swapped out that power tap for the [Wolfbox traditional hardwire kit](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09X9F8GMT?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title), which took literally minutes to install. [Using this fusebox diagram,](https://www.startmycar.com/chevrolet/colorado/info/fusebox/2023) I used the micro fuse #5 which is the driver's power seat, for constant power, and micro fuse #25, which is the auxillary USB power for the accessory power. Also, depending on your seating position, I find that the 12" G900 Pro mirror is a bit too large and obstructs my view a bit, and I am ducking a little to see more of the right side of the windshield view. I think 10" is the right size for a mirror, which would be [the Wolfbox G930 Dashcam mirror](https://www.amazon.com/WOLFBOX-Parking-Monitor-Reverse-Support/dp/B0BRLYT8M1/ref=sr_1_8?crid=1N5GJXS419SVS&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.lZqqpcVTaytT_yFBdnsp9yAgoFoZWmoBQPFr8v-NzSewnbUP-iVuI1I8KNZWEEz0kVKSXdCIyvhA6Z3VkCRPbU1-wADhzRGioaNqqYCLYDGVKsDK4Kw8si_THE2Bl36k051eNWQq84KDF3_VkehyI5ekr9hi4nDRG5scGqb6HG1VXkvpH88Yq0wm4PCkneXx4D8tERxN8n66kpNymCgGUfljH_fNZfMSSN0T4XtayLE.PYWleHXWnHVDePyJ90XtyF13Ny_q5f-i6pj4oH660rA&dib_tag=se&keywords=wolfbox+mirror&qid=1738785378&sprefix=wolfbox+mirro%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-8). It still has the 4K front camera resolution; however, the rear camera is a 1080P unit without the Sony Image Sensors or fast apertures for better lowlight situations. Just something to consider!
Resolution is definitely a factor but the bigger factor for me is the faster aperture which will pull in more light at night time. For me, that’s worth the trade off since I’ve seen really shit rear digital cameras on some OEM vehicles.
You should check out u/ColoRADo_ZR2 's setup, he uses an adjustable arm for the rear camera to see around whatever is in the bed. The G900's main advantages over the G930 is the overall width of the mirror is 12" vs 10", the rear camera is 2.5K resolution with a faster aperture f/1.8 lens vs a 1080p and f/2.8 lens, and the Sony image sensor. Everything else is basically the same, including the GPS functionality. For me, low light performance and clarity was higher on the priority list than the size of the screen. The OEM GM mirror is 10". The sun visors BARELY clear the 12" G900 housing. Either one you choose, you should definitely do it. Anything is better than the regular mirror in the Colorado
I am using this one [dash-cam](https://wolfbox.com/products/wolfbox-g900tripro-bumper-version-3-channel-rearview-mirror) there are 2 versions check them out and if you dont need 3 cameras there is the wolfbox g900 pro i had that one before its the same except it only has 2 cameras front and rear
Probably depends on what system you use. I have a wolfbox g900 pro and the camera is waterproof. I have it mounted to the bottom of the back bar of my roof rack hanging from the bottom of it. Looks very discrete and has a good cam view.
The g900 pro doesn't have HDR so makes things worse at night for licence plate reads, a baffling decision hence while I sold mine. The imx335 is ok for a rear but far behind the competition so I can see why they went for a newer sensor. I feel bad for most g900 pro buyers because it's only been a couple of months and they've already kind of shafted them with the TriPro release
I would've bought viofo pero ang mahal. Pero upgreadable naman sya for about 1k pesos more. Walang mga lane assist tech na kagaya ng ddpai z60 pero goods na goods kung same situation na parati blocked rear mirror ng sasakyan.
