Ninja - 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Brewer

I got suckered into two, second ninjas- I bought one and loved it and then got one for my mother. Both also suffered the led clock going out, one bar at a time after a couple years. Searched for one with the removable water tank and ended up with both of us ultimately getting a different, newer model ninja. I’ve had several brands, especially cheaper ones over the years - and while they do last longer, ninja for me makes the best tasting drip coffee. FWIW tho, I’m a recovering coffee addict, so I have and use pretty much every other method to make it (French press, espresso machine, cheesecloth for cold brew etc). Depending on how long these ninjas last- will determine whether they’re my last or not.

I got the Ninja at Costco. You can either make a whole pot, or make single cups with a k-cup.

Ninja CE 200 by a country mile. Why are you thrown off by the use of a #4 cone filter?

My pleasure! 😊 I've owned both the Ninja CE251 and the Bonavita Enthusiast--they both make great coffee! The Bonavita is fast and more compact than the Ninja. I also own that KitchenAid grinder--it's a great grinder, especially for the $99 price of the certified refurbished model. It's better than a Baratza Encore, IMHO--superior workflow and great anti-static performance. Grind quality is very good. It's just a question if you want a really nice SCA brewer now and better grinder later, or a good brewer (Ninja) and better grinder now.

Awesome, the drop 12 cup maker I bought last week isn't even on either list. :D But for under $100, the Ninja 12-cup is meeting our needs very well.

There are some coffee makers that are not SCA certified that come close or pretty much meet the specs. Like the Ninja 12-Cup, or the Zojirushi 5-cup and 12-cup options. However, I agree, the rest mostly not great because they don't get hot enough.

Could you not order one from Amazon US with your UK Amazon account? It figures out all the shipping etc. The Ninja DualBrew will have a higher price here as drip coffee machines in general aren’t as popular, unfortunately. I do like them when in the US. What *are* popular here, increasingly so, are bean to cup machines. That’s the way it’s going here. But anyway you can get the Prestige DualBrew for £208 on Amazon UK currently. I think that’s a decent price for what it is, and it does have a decent reservoir, and a morning timer on it. Which would replicate most of the features you’d get on a US drip machine. Edit: The Ninja FreshBrew (for example) is £143 from Amazon US logged in with a UK account. That’s with any relevant import and purchase taxes and shipping. Shipping to the UK is £26 which is not bad at all.

Where there any beans/roast levels that you thought was bad when you tried them with your ninja? If so try to use them with the mocca master. Although I have the cup one, one thing I noticed from my old coffee maker a ninja cm104(?) after switching to the cup one was, the ninja just can't handle light to medium roasts. I thought I liked dark roasts but it turned out the ninja was just unable to properly extract light/medium roast coffees. Now all I drink is light roast haha!

Not fancy coffee but nice. Used a lot less grounds than any previous coffee makers I had tried, but the coffee was still good and flavorful. Not super expensive. I added a reusable metal filter.

Nice. I already bought it, so that's good. Made a pretty good cup of joe this morning. Tasted more like a pour over than the Black & Decker it replaced.
