"I can fly full manual FPV and then have a failsafe button to stop if I f**k up. ... I've been flying DJI for a while and I'm actually scared to go back to custom FPV with no fail safes"
"No way.. you need absolutely no practice in a sim (to fly in non manual mode). Buy the drone and fly it as soon as it's charged up. Easy as that. ... He said beginner drone for FPV. He didn't say full manual mode right out of the box. I bought the Avata 2 and bought my friend a Neo. Both can do FPV with no experience."
"VERY easy to fly ... the most fun I've had in some time just for ease of use ... I gave my son (14) about 2 minutes of instructions then let him go with it. Super easy."

"The built-in camera is currently the best you can get for an FPV drone, meaning you won't even need a GoPro. ... I mean, with D-Log and all that, it's a *really* good camera. Both for its FPV-to-goggles feed, and for recording."
"Neither Mavic-3 (or Mini-4k pro) or Avata-2 suffer from any quality including videography."
"It's hard to beat the Avata 2's image quality and stability"

"The fly more drone package was $1000 usd. Came with the avata2, goggles 3 and the motion control."
"definitely worth every penny."
"And a bargain! ... Full combo for the price of drone-only."

"and its a strong drone, crashed it multiple times but fixed it myself."
"Guards on the Minis aren’t nearly as tough as the guards on the Avata."
"I crashed the Neo in a stream fully submerged and flew it a few hours later."

"It is very easy to maneuver, especially compared to non-DJI drones, since it has DJI sensors, obstacle avoidance, etc. This makes it great for photography and cinematic footage"
"And the safety features you get with the DJI ecosystem are unmatched."

"It is a very underpowered drone. You'll outgrow it quite quickly when it comes to freestyle flying. ... On top of being quite heavy, it uses Li-Ion batteries. This means long flight times, but little power. ... It's not very good at actual freestyle flying. If you ever want to fly like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0gxeHX9gqk), it will never be possible on Avata. Some freestyle, of course yes, but as you start learning freestyle, you'll run into Avata's limitations very quickly."
"I wouldn't put a GoPro on it as it's already a bit underpowered"
"definitely wouldn't try anything beyond very light freestyle with it"

"a single avata 2 battery goes for 120€"
"It requires DJI-specific batteries and charger, which are incompatible with non-DJI drones."
"they're certainly not cheap, which is one factor where other drones are superior cos they don't require proprietary LiPo batteries like the Avata 2 (or *any* DJI drone for that matter)"

"That only works when the battery hasn’t gone flying out of it. ... Source: I’ve crashed and almost lost my DJI Avata a bunch of times ... Maybe with the Phanton series but I have an Avata like OP. There’s a reason the most popular Avata mod is an air tag holder."
I use the Avata 2 in normal mode with the controller 3. It’s quite easy. I always ask the realtor what kind of flight path they want and just do what they ask (maybe a few suggestions).
Hey guys, I have an Avata 2 and I'm planning to purchase an Air 3s. I'd like to step into the Real Estate media world to make some profit from what I like most. My question is can I use the Goggles 3 with Air 3s? I know the A3 is compatible but can't find useful info about A3s. If it compatible with what controller? Thanks a bunch.
That price is completely ridiculous. But it’s a super fun drone with some great capabilities.
Custom freestyle quad with AvionRC IKON 2.5 frame and DJI air unit O4 Pro. So much fun in such a small package and easy enough to repair when crashed. My second drone is an Avata 2. That one is also great fun for smoot cinematic flight with the head tracking and the motion controller.
I have this and a neo both in a small bag that also holds the motion control, FPV control and goggles as well as a 3 battery charger for both. It's so incredibly compact it's wonderful compared to my earlier drones. And not needing a phone at all and being able to share the controls across both drones is amazing.
For the outside shots, you want Drone with a mechanical shutter at this point that’s the Mavic 3M or matrice enterprise. The matrice is higher res and has much more sophisticated software to facilitate 2D and 3-D mapping and flyovers and such for the interior shots you’re gonna wanna lean towards possibly a flip or avata 2 which will give you great maneuverability inside and still work well without needing GPS which you will not have under the roof of the house
I agree with u/Own_Shine_5855; you need to tell us what you want to do in this hobby. If you want to fly a DJI Avata 2, then go for it. If you want to fly FPV freestyle, like many of the cool YouTube vids show, you will frequently crash. The time spent fixing crashes will dwarf the time doing the initial build , so if building once is prohibitively unpleasant, then it is likely that you'll find the hobby unpleasant since there will be a large amount of crashing. So tell us what has you interested in the hobby, and we can give you better advice about drones that will work for you, or if you just need to bite the bullet and gain some drone building skills. If the latter (e.g. you like the freestyle vids), don't despair; there are some great kits out there and excellent video tutorials that will walk you through every step.
The Avata 2 is a blast to fly!
I’ve got a pretty much brand new mini 3 pro and Avata2 that I just dont use. Might as well sell. If interested let me know
I think the stability of the avata 2 really plays a big role in getting it through tight spaces. I haven't had any issues flying it through normal sized door openings. The main issue I run into is the down draft blowing things off lol. Flying over dining room table and have to reset place settings before doing a second take. Or a throw on the corner of a bed getting messed up.
I started with the Geprc Darkstar with a dji o3. I love that thing but with the o3 the battery life was not the greatest with the gum stick batteries. I also have the cinelog 30 which is better but feels just as drafty as the Avata. I probably should have picked up a 20 or 2.5 but went the Avata route as the elevation was so steady compared a fully manual fpv drone. Even with me crashing fpv drones for 10+ years lol. I will say the Avata2 just feels like a cheat code even with it's larger size.
