"I have a 2024 Apollo Go, the range they claim is 20 to 30 miles. I weigh 210 and live in an area that has various size hills. I took mine out for a realistic thrashing (max acceleration, cruising at 25mph) and was able to get 13 miles before hitting 20% battery."

"Apollo customer service and repairs is sooooooo bad. ... Literally had to go back and forth with those bastards 27 times to get an issue fixed and had to send my scooter back in for looong repairs three different times to fix a single issue because they're so incompetent and kept sending it back either incorrectly repaired, or not repaired at all. ... I lost an entire season of riding to their bullshit."

"in 2 and a half months i have YET to get their 47lb dual motor 1500w peak power SLOWmotion climber to even touch 22mph and that's WITH me going downhill on a full charge and i weigh ~140 smh"

"The Apollo Go has 2x 350w motors, which is as much torque as a 1400w single motor. Which isn't a whole lot, but enough for a 230lb rider to get up a ~12-15% incline. ... Btw the Apollo go isn't even close to achieving what you want at your weight."

I have no experience on the Segway but I have personally loved my go that I've had for nearly a year now only major issue as far as defector build goes was that I had an intermittently connecting communication cable and I simply found that it had been pulled inside the handle a little bit too much and the wire was kinked so I just straightened it out added a little bit of extra support with electrical tape works like a charm. The portability at least for someone like me who oftentimes need to take a lift and wants and needs to take it into the store with me because I live in Oakland and screw the idea of walking it up and expecting to see it when I come out has just been absolutely priceless and he's for itself in a way. I've quite never literally never been limited from putting it into a truck or taking it with me in any kind of car not once. Able to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs with it. And it gets me to work and back plus a little extra with my lights on and going over two hills on the fastest setting. I've come to determine that pretty much anything within a 5-mile radius to where I live I can actually get to faster on my scooter than most cars just because of stoplights traffic etc sometimes I completely smoke them. It's actually really funny when I see how far back a car that was right next to me ends up being stuck behind multiple lights like six blocks behind me at some points 😅

Look on eBay for the Apollo Go. Good deals to be had on new and refurbished scooters. Got mine for $450, very good deal for a dual motor scooter.

Good luck. Whatever you end up with I've found that dual motor is a lot nicer and safer to ride...

Dude the Apollo Go is way more fun than the G2, no contest. That extra power makes a huge difference when you're just riding for kicks. Your G2 should easily get $500 with under 500 miles, especially if you've kept it clean

you mean SLOWmotion lol.....in 2 and a half months i have YET to get their 47lb dual motor 1500w peak power SLOWmotion climber to even touch 22mph and that's WITH me going downhill on a full charge and i weigh ~140 smh.....solid scooter to be honest but hopefully my 41mph ausom leopard dt1 pro arrives today (12/20/24). the SLOWmotion climber is gonna be sold or back burnered or used when i'm NOT in a rush and i DON'T have to travel a longer distance.

Apollo customer service and repairs is sooooooo bad. Literally had to go back and forth with those bastards 27 times to get an issue fixed and had to send my scooter back in for looong repairs three different times to fix a single issue because they're so incompetent and kept sending it back either incorrectly repaired, or not repaired at all. I lost an entire season of riding to their bullshit. Then when I finally got it going my battery was hosed and dropped from 20 miles of range to just 9 miles. Then the power started shutting down randomly and the run flat tires repeatedly ran flat. Experiencing their bullshit then seeing asshats like Electric Scooter Guide calling them one of "the most reliable brands" is just nauseating. What a pack of shills.

After 3 years and more than 5k kilometres on an Apollo Air, just changed to Apollo Go and it would beat any of the Segways in build quality, features and performance. The only issues I had with the Air was a couple of flat tyres and the plastic accelerator replacement. I expect less issues with the Go as it has self healing and better tyres.

I own Apollo Go, Stellar, & RS Midnight 2.0. Coming from a original nightmare Apollo Phantom 60v. The go and the stellar are identical and built like tanks. Stellar has more power, better lighting, better suspension.  RS Midnight is a race machine with race features. The Apollo is a smooth power house with sidewalk capability. Both are amazing.  I prefer the Apollo Stellar despite being Apollos biggest hater. RS midnight has to be maintained, screws tightened, controllers replaced. It's like a race car with easily replaceable parts. You may need to repair it out of the box or down the road.  The stellar is rather dumby proof. Puncture proof tires, Regen 90% of the time. Better in congested areas. Smooth throttle control reduces fatigue and evokes confidence in tight spaces. Plenty of power. Ludo is almost too much without proper traction control. RS is more stable, lower to the ground and better for fast takeoffs with its Gyro and Traction control. If you like to race and brake to each intersection, RS is more fun. If precision and reduced fatigue are your priority. Stellar!!! My 2¢

I’m a large man too and I drive an Apollo Go with no issues. Dual motors help on those hills and packs up light so I can haul it into the office no problem.

I was looking for about the same thing as you and was debating between an Inmotion Climber and an Apollo Go. Settled on the Go, 700ish km later, no regrets. Lots of people have had issues with various Apollo products but I’d guess lots more have loved theirs like I have.

No Apollo Gos are snapping, different frame/design. Other models have had issues though, for sure.

Gos are a different breed in the Apollo lineup. I have just under 1200km on mine, it's a tank.

I own an Apollo Go and am a little heavier than you. I have put about 1600km on it since purchase. No problems carting me and my gear around, and only the steepest hills in my city give it any issue. It is extremely solid, of a different design than other scooters in the Apollo lineup that have had stem issues. Very much like the portability, easy to fold and carry, no problem for the elevator at work to my desk. The thumb throttle and regen brake are both great; I basically never use the hand brake unless I need to stop in a hurry. I owned a Max G2 previous to this and I definitely like this scooter better.

The regen brake is separate from the handbrake, so you can throw on both for quick stops. I honestly rarely use it, the regen is good enough for like 95% of my braking. Range is decent but not outstanding due to my weight and the lightness of the scooter. I live in a hilly city and get probably 18-20km range driving reasonably aggressively. I always keep it in Speed Mode (3), which tops me out at about 42km/h, plenty for my city needs (legally only allowed to go 25 km/h here on the streets on a scooter). But when cruising or wary of my battery, I sometimes switch down to Cruise Mode (2), tops out just over 22 km/h but greatly increases range.

Apollo had a lot of QC problems with certain models, stems snapping, poor customer service experiences, etc. That said: I have had my Apollo Go now for over 800km and that thing is built like a tank, no problems besides a broken fender thanks to my own shitty driving skills, heh. I think some of the hate for them is earned because of their QC problems/poor customer service problems, but it's way overblown in this sub IMO.

I personally ride an Apollo Go, an entry level "commuter" class scooter that prioritizes portability and lightweight construction (only 44lbs & folds up nice) but also packs dual 750w motors to help me power up hills and such around HRM. As a commuter scooter, I can definitely recommend it, all the speed you need to get around, decent (but not insane) range depending on your load and very easy to fold up and carry into an office and up some stairs/into an elevator. Fits nice in a car trunk/backseat too in case you want to explore trails/places outside HRM. Built like a tank too, unlike Apollo scooters in other classes that had some welding issues. Disclaimer: I am a mod over on r/ApolloScooters, so this might seem like a bit of a shill, but I had my scooter and enjoyed it before that happened, hehe 😉
