"An S8 would be great for vacuuming your rugs and carpets ... For $350, my two S8s are very hard to beat! ... Almost all of the ones I thought vacuumed, very, very well have been discontinued except for the S8. ... If a Mova V50 can do 80% as well as our cheap S8s I would be pleased!"

"saving nearly $1k ... it's a no brainer for me"

"If you can get a niu 100P for $200 or less it's an absolutely fantastic and well-built scooter in that price range. ... I use mine for daily commuting so build quality is much more important that getting the top speed for the price"

"Overall, I’m still happy with it! I’ve had no issues with the tires, and there generally aren’t any signs of wear. It’s held up to rain (though I’m normally careful to check the weather). ... Nothing too crazy— I’d say it’s in the standard “rain” category— not a “sprinkle”, but not a “downpour”. I’ve never left it out in the rain for more than an hour at a time. Most non-school places I’ve brought a scooter to generally have a covered bike rack"

"not nearly as good build quality"

"front suspension makes it so smooth"

"Suspension is adequate for bumpy roads. It’s no Apollo (it’s a third of the price), but it’s better than other scooters at this price. ... It handles cracks and bumps relatively smoothly. ... Our roads are also pretty awful— I’ve yet to have any issues still. I would imagine the suspension makes it a better option than other scooters in the same price range."

"Doesn't have suspension"

"I only use 2 miles a day to and from the train station so it’s got enough range for me"

"My commute is 5 miles and it uses 2 of the 5 battery bars."

"The battery on the Roomba sucks. ... It vacuumed the living room only and it needed to be charged. ... It’s been charging for 2 hours and still only at 30%. ... One room only is insane to me"

"now it takes 10 times longer to clean the house. ... What used to be a passive cleaning job while we were out has turned into an hours-long session that runs during peak time when everyone’s home, which completely defeats the purpose."

"The battery was stuck at 93% charge, once again customer service told me to reboot. ... I have literally reboot the robot about 8 times since I bought it a week ago, not exaggerating! ... They said it was a bug."

"I gave the scooter a test run today and got an error code, #03 - faulty throttle. I sent NIU a service request, so hopefully I get this thing fixed soon."

"It decelerates quick after you release the throttle. It reminds me of how people describe going from normal car breaks to a Tesla, if that makes sense. I can’t hand signal easily without it almost stopping. This is simultaneously the most annoying part of the scooter (I’m big on hand signaling) but also a feature I like since there isn’t a throttle break."

"The stem is angled, and it crowds the deck. It removes about 1/3 of the leg room. I’m kinda short so it’s not bad for me, but I can see this being more annoying for a bigger rider."

"Keep an eye out for any cracks in the frame from where the frame tubing on both side meets the stem. ... The cracks will start at the welds and I believe it’s due to how the stem is positioned and angled towards you when standing on the deck of the scooter."

r/ElectricScootersMy 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome.

OP, if you're gonna tell us that she's out grown a scooter and is one of the tallest in her class; her actual size would be an extremely valuable metric here for recommendations. I'd probably go the classic Niu KQI 100P recommendation; but this is highly dependent on weight. If she's around \~70lbs I'd say it'll likely have the range needed for flat park trails at moderate speeds (\~9mph-11mph). If you're going faster with lots of hills, stops and goes - you still might touch that range. Her weight and size is going to be a big factor in range.

I just bought my daughter a Nui kqi 100p. I have ridin it, and I am impressed by the power it has for its weight. I also have a kukirin g2 master and it would be too heavy for your needs. The niu does surprising well up hills. Good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for. https://shop.niu.com/products/niu-kqi-100p-electric-scooter?srsltid=AfmBOorv3Tj6u4LGOpcf-xSLTpIoYp1vw9LqWJKhPmgCu-mi2-LrfG-I *edit* it is cheaper at best buy, which is where I purchased it.

https://youtu.be/cZEpDJ8hGiU?si=UATHYDa0Fo_qhAjK the review of it by esg https://a.co/d/3NH6iTb NIU 100p, the quality is top notch for the price, and one of the best features usually don't get a depresses suspension which this has, it's only on the front but it does help absorb bad road conditions

I’ve been rolling on a KQi 100p, I assume it’s the same app and I’ve had no problems with it.

r/ElectricScootersDo people still buy name brands?

I recently got a NIU KQi 100p, couldn’t be happier. Not yet at 100 miles but I’ll post a proper review when I do. I only use 2 miles a day to and from the train station so it’s got enough range for me, definitely fast enough, front suspension makes it so smooth. Very premium feeling vehicle, a bit heavier than I’d like but I don’t have to carry it far. Disclaimer tho, it’s my first non-Lime/Bird scooter.

Take a look at the NIU kqi 100p it's under 40 lb. Goes up to 18.5 mph and I can get at least 8 mi from it from a full charge. I'm pretty sure it can go even further but I haven't ran out the battery fully yet. I'm just going by an estimate. 18.5 mph probably isn't super fast for you but you're going to need a little more weight to the scooter if you want it to do any faster. I actually prefer having less weight at the expense of speed.

Hover 1 Max has the best price to performance being dual motor but its a Xiaomi M365 knockoff... I would go with the NIU 100P from your choices.

More so the brand being better than hover/drivetron The segway E2 Plus II is more of a kids scooter with a very weak 22v battery. 100P has 48v, the other 2 36v. If you need power for hills the Hover will be the best power but the worse quality(m365 knockoffs are shit)

Depends how much street you'll be on. My commute is 99% designated bike path so I went with basically the cheapest you can find because I didn't need 20mph. Under $300 Niu kqi 100p. I've been commuting every work week since November, rain or shine. I'm 6'1" and 165 lbs, Goes 17 mph on flat ground and up hills 9-11 depending on grade. Not the biggest battery. My commute is 5 miles and it uses 2 of the 5 battery bars. But once you get deep into 3 bars (2 bars left on display) it starts to lag on power. No complaints here.

I also got an NIU 100P, currently being shipped to me. For my use case I don’t really care about hills, and I liked that it has a bit of suspension. One thing I did see was a few reports of cracked frame - at the base of the two suspension springs. Just search Reddit and you’ll see. That said, I’ll probably be gentle with these and plan on checking the frame before every single ride
