Based on the price, this is pretty good basic hily area will be OK smoothly can ride, but if high hill type of place means, maybe will have some problem

That's strange. I've been on that thing with two people and it got up the steeper parts of the hill with about 15km/h. Not amazing but absolutely serviceable considering it can't go faster than 20km/h anyways

Guess it's software limited to 20 where I'm living. I guess the weight might be the reason then.

TL;DR - Love my Segway Ninebot, saves time, saves $, gives freedom, + even survived a theft with Find My iPhone. ——— I’m 100 days into having my Segway ninebot E2 pro and I had no idea it would improve my quality of life so much. I live in Chicago & would usually take the bus -> train and then another bus to my location but now I can get around the city soo much easier and soo much faster. Sometimes a bus delay led to 20-30 min extra travel time bc I’d miss a connecting train/bus. Now trips that took me 45 min take 15 min. And I feel more freedom to be spontaneous and go places that aren’t close to major roads At first I was scared to spend $400 for a scooter but 100 days in, it’s paid for itself in saved transit fees and it’s so fun to ride around. I will never buy a scooter that’s not Segway. Just bc it has find my iPhone. Which WOW. I’ve had 2 bikes stolen in Chicago in the span on 2 years so I was scared my scooter would get stolen. Well it did! But bc of find my iPhone the cops helped me get it back the same day. 600 miles later it’s 100% worth the investment. Bonus is I never have to worry about traffic jams, I wiz by with a smile.

I did update it but this is also my first escooter so its pretty beatup and im looking for something that can go on the road and me not have to worry about being to slow where i live to go down town i have to cross a highway and right now the e2 pro just is not cutting it for a safe enough speed for crossing it and i would love not to have range anxiety anymore but i really do appreciate the advice

The Pro is over 30% heavier, FYI. That's kind of a big deal especially for youngsters. Handling will be better with a lighter weight scooter and carrying it if needed would be easier too. If they both go out together and they're not carrying it, you would be. You don't want that. Make them carry the scooter or transport it into the car. Lighter will be way better for them. Coming from a fellow dad of two. Chin and teeth protection aside, be aware that regular bike helmets are rated for 15mph. Any faster than that, you'll want an ebike helmet. NTA8776 ebike helmet rating is up to 28mph. Anything over 30mph, you'll want a DOT full face helmet.

The e2 Pro is a great scooter. However, if you're in for many larger hills you're going to get disappointed. Not because the scooter aint good, it'lll tackle hills. But it has a 275Wh battery which is about half of the Max G2. Luckily 100% of my commute is on perfect roads, this does literally everything I want it to, except it lacks power

18% hill climbing seemed like enough but it turned out it was not

This is true, it’s a damn good scooter in terms of almost everything except the motor power tbh

2x1000 will be fine, I just sold my Segway Ninebot e2 Pro because it’s 1x750 was only just barely unable to carry me

I have the same scooter. You should be able to update the firmware to unlock 19mph. Maybe you purposely didn’t, but just wanted to let you know they put out a firmware update.

No it’s a legit update. If you connect the Segway app to your scooter (which you should have had to when you got it or it limits it to like 9mph) then scroll over to updates. It should be available. No hacking at all.

Bro everyone thinks they are a speed demon. I just rode my Ninebot E2 Pro $450 15.5 mph max speed around town and I had a blast. No issues going up hills. Going down hills I saw the speedometer go to at least 25mph. That is fast enough for me. But really I like how comfortable and smooth the ride is. Easy to steer, extremely sturdy. Also I turn off Regen braking and TCS I just like the pure ride feel. And I charge to 100% and drain battery damn near empty every ride. I just use the scooter and it's been treating me well so far.
