Modmic wireless, it’s $130 which isn’t cheap but it has great sound quality and decent battery life. Another option is to just get a new headset, valve index and bigscreen beyond both have great mics

It seems overkill to use recording mics for video calls. Have you considered just a headset mic? Antlion make some decent headset mics that you can just stick onto the side of your headphones. I use the Modmic wireless with my Sennheiser HD650 headphones and it works well as a combo. Antlion Wireless for sure, depends on your headset, though. Quest 2 mic is totally decent, while the Quest 3 mic is utter poopoo. Antlion Wireless isn't stellar quality, just handy and decent for streaming; don't expect it to be like a studio condenser, it's basically just a reliable lav mic on a bendy arm (not that that's a bad thing). You're paying for convenience and reliability, not necessarily AMAZING sound quality. Could also go for a wireless Lavalier Microphone or "Lav" mic. A lot of options on Amazon, even some reliable cheap options. Main advice is always go to youtube and search up the specific model number to find a review and mic test; there's always someone that's tested one so you can see yourself. Main things to look up are battery life, mic quality (hear it yourself), and if it's reliable (doesn't disconnect often).

May I recommend the Antlion Modmics? Especially the wireless one is really handy and you can attach it to any headset with a snappy adhesive/magnet combo. Coupled with the Wireless headset that I use, it feels amazing being completely untethered while streaming. Feel free to check out some of my VODs to hear how it sounds like.

I run HD6XX's with an external mic (a modmic turns them into a great headset). I almost exclusively use them for gaming at this point, but they're phenomenal headphones as well. The HD58X's are excellent as well and easier to drive. Both headphones are around $200 on Drop, give or take sales they have going on. I'm sure they'll have something going on for black friday.

Modmic from antlion is the goto option, but is it really worth it to drop money on a mic that costs almost as much as your headset? [This cheaper alternative might be better suited for your needs as it doesn't require as big of an investment](https://youtu.be/K9npz2hxPYM)

Antlion Mod Mic is good. Uses a USB-A Dongle to connect. I use mine on PS5 but it is PC compatible.

I have an Antlion Modmic for mine that's pretty awesome. The battery lasts a long time, and the sound quality is solid

Antlion modmic is brilliant. I bought it in 2021 and have been using it ever since. The great thing about this mic is that you can position the boom right in front of your mouth, allowing it to pick up even whisper-quiet sounds. This is impossible with the Quest's open mic. (The noise cancellation mutes whispers, so when I'm doing ASMR at a decent volume, my family ends up knocking on the door!) It's lamentable that this microphone is still the latest model. I've been waiting for an upgrade for ages!
