I have found that using the magsafe magnetic mount with the 16 pro max, the dji mic mini receiver, and the flow pro 2 does not work as there is not enough clearance, however adjusting the phone using the magnetic clamp mount of the flow pro 2 will work or using a short cable to attach the receiver to the back or side of the phone
This is incorrect. I just got it for my iPhone 15 pro. You CANNOT use it via BT connection with the apple camera app. You’ll need a third party app (blackmagic or others) to use the mic via BT connection for video recording.
I bought the mini mic and the audio quality is terrible. I have a pretty deep voice and me talking normally sounds like a deep rumble and lots of static. All my friends that have tried it have said they they don't like the audio quality. I've had it for less than a week and I'm already thinking of buying a different mic. Do not buy the mini! I haven't tried the Mic 2 but it has to be better than the mini.
If you are getting the Creator combo, then get another standalone Mic 2. If not, I'd recommend the Mic Mini as the size really makes a difference. Souce: I have both Mic 2 and Mic Mini
i have the osmo pocket 3 creator combo. before i purchased this, i had the dji mic mini. so now both my partner and I film on the osmo and use one of the dji mini mics. i do see a difference in quality when it comes to Mic 2 vs Mic Mini but it’s not much. Def doable
The Mic 2 is awesome. It allows for recording without the camera so it’s like a little wireless digital dictaphone (anybody remember dictaphones?) However, the Mic Mini has a smaller imprint so easier to hide. What I did notice with the Mini Mini (I don’t know if it works with the Mic 2) is when I used the receiver, it saves each mic on a separate channel. All in all, there’s no real difference that I’ve noticed (32-bit float?) aside from the size and the (in)convenience of the carrying case and charging
I’ve just used the DJI Mic Mini on mine. It didn’t seem too bad. I plugged in the receiver and off I went. I used both mics in the pack as initially I was getting only single channel. It’s nice that I’m not chained to the desk but as they are attached to my baseball cap, I have to remember not to scratch my head too often
Mic2 has internal memory to record, and 32-bit float (that is important only for professionals). You pay for these with larger size and lower battery life. I bought mic mini and it is decent. The best thing about the battery life and the out of the box good sound quality and small size.
Internal memory wouldn't be much use to me as I am recording it directly to the Pocket 3, and although 32-Bit recording is an interesting proposition, I don't intend on recording in super high-volume environments where it might clip. It seems as though the mini is basically a DJI Mic 3 without 32 bit recording or on-board storage. Like it's next gen otherwise. At least that's the impression I'm getting with these responses.
Thanks, I think the Mic Mini is the way to go.
After doing some quick research, the Mic Mini does the same thing. (DJI even demonstrates it in the online manual). I had no idea this was a feature before, thanks for the info! I ended up with the Mini. It was pretty good sound quality. If I kept the camera I wouldn’t have regretted it for the trip. I also didn’t end up going on that trip, and I returned the camera since my iPhone 15 Pro Max had better video quality for some reason. And then the price skyrocketed on the camera. But yeah, I went with the Mini, and it sounded good. I didn’t try the Mic 2 but I doubt it would’ve been worth the extra weight, the mini was on the cusp of being heavy enough to sag on clothing as it was.
I think I’m going to go with the Mic Mini, the benefits seem to out way the cons (32-bit, no internal recording) vs (smaller, longer battery)
In USA prices of the ones that you listed and the mic mini are very similar so I would go with the DJI. Besides if you only need 1 mic you can pay less.
Seconded. The DJI mic mini is awesome if all you need is a wireless lav mic. Not sure how much more it costs than the ones you mentioned where you are. But connecting a receiver to the OP3 every time you want wireless audio seems like a huge hassle and kinda defeats the purpose of having such a simple to use, all-in-one cam.
