BLUElightCory 1.0Great mic, definitely more "modern" and bright than most ribbons. These are my favorite mics for recording a singer/guitarist in one take with two mics.
Of the ones I'm most familiar with: 1. Coles 4038 2. AEA R44 3. Beyerdynamic M160 4. AEA R84 5. Royer R121/R122 6. Royer SF12/SSF24 7. se Voodoo VR1/VR2 All are awesome.
manewitz 1.0I use one live for guitar amps and it rips. I got the VR2 (active) for recording since I don’t have a high gain preamp but since I’ve ended up using it for loud amps I could have gotten away with the VR1 (passive) and saved a little money.
