I've got a WA-14, clone of the 414. Maybe the real version sounds a lot different, but it's got a pretty unpleasant sharpness in the high mids, especially in fig 8 mode

I think the nt1a is perfectly sufficient compared to this list of mics with the exception of the KSM32. The wa-14 is a good buy, but only because of the pattern options, which is super helpful to have a pair of. Rent/borrow/return as many mics as you can and do direct comparisons.

Not hidden, but warm audio wa14 is killer. I’ve compared it to its akg counterpart and have no regrets with goin with the wa14
