And don't try to save money by buying any "open box" or refurbished. Those are all used by some teen wanna-be influencer who broke it, lost the accessories, and returned it. 3 failures out of 3 (Podmic USB) and finally just ordered directly from Rode. But the USB version is a bit out of OP's price range. The XLR-only isn't, though, if he has a preamp.

Not a professional by any means but I've been using the Rode PodMic for a hot minute. Sits right at the $100 mic and sounds pretty damn good. Doesn't come with an arm/stand but I've been using a generic boom arm. Easy enough to set up and tweak to get good sound, so that's my two cents.

I used it for my streams back when I was more active and have dedicated it to being my daily use mic and it's very reliable. Hope it's what you're looking for :)

I'll be that guy. If there are two of you you should both be using dynamic not condenser mics. Is your room treated? Do you have a decent audio interface? (RODEcaster Duo is top of the line IMO) As for mics. At my station I use an EV-RE20. By far the gold standard for broadcasting. After that the Sure SMB7 after that you can get away with the rode Podmic provided your room is sound treated and you have an interface like I mentioned above (focusrite is also good) Don't go cheap on the interface or mic. Sound matters

i had the hyper x for a bit and it shit out within 2 years of having it. even after changing cords the input is choppy or gets fuzzy and their customer service sucks. i reccomend going xlr route (i got the rode podmic recently and it sounds much better but havent had it long enough to say how it lasts over time)

Depends on your setup. For USB: Blue Yeti or Audio-Technica ATR2100x. For XLR: Shure SM58 or Rode PodMic. I us an ATR2100x with Podcastle AI for podcast editing - . Unless you're doing in-person interviews regularly, start with USB and upgrade later if needed .

Rode gear is awesome. I like the podmics and their customer service is amazing (at least it is if you’re in Aus).

Probably the PodMic, purely from the RODE Connect support, which essentially gives you the same DSP processing features and more as the RODECaster products. But both are solid mics. *Disclaimer: I'm Head of Podcaster Support & Experience at Captivate*

Sounds like a way to get going. Just bear in mind, if you haven't bought it yet - the SM7B is quite an expensive mic. You could instead go for a cheaper MV7X or RODE Podmic (both good, dynamic XLR mics) and balance out some of that cost going into the Rodecaster Pro/Duo. The SM7B is overkill for your setup, and the audio interface sounds like the more important bit than the mic. Don't want you dropping €1k just so you can work and play!

I use a [Rode PodMic](https://rode.com/en-gb/products/podmic) - they have a [bunch of arm/stand options,](https://rode.com/en-gb/accessories/stands-bars) run into a [Focusrite Scarlett 2i2](https://focusrite.com/products/scarlett-2i2). Not sure if this fits your budget or might be slightly over, but there are Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas sales coming up, so those might be good times to grab these.

Rode Podmic. Hands down my favorite mic for electric guitar. I regularly choose it over much costlier, fancier mics. And it's not a 57 knockoff, it sounds so much bigger and less harsh. Retails for $99, frequently on sale and used for 70 or less.

Yeah i love it. I got it after watching the review by the youtuber Podcastage. He actually came away from the review not liking it that much, but the guitar sounds he got were exactly what I've been looking for. Despite trying out other stuff, I pretty much always prefer the podmic on electric guitar, especially on distorted electric guitar. https://youtu.be/6FaBq9DLi_U?feature=shared
