"It does a way better job of not picking up steps. ... Sometimes, it still does, but usually after 18 hours in a tractor and only 5k steps, it's probably pretty close."

"I am a power lineman, so I needed a rugged watch that could get banged around, be exposed to energized high voltage, and very harsh conditions. The TREX has worked flawlessly through all that."
"never had an issue with it. ... I've had it for over 2 years now and it still works like new."

"Garmin is years ahead of Amazfit in terms of software."
I am using an Amazfit trex 2 since last 3 years and it's an amazing value for money smart watch. You can check out accuracy comparison videos for this with garmin, whoop or apple watch on YouTube. Its a common consensus in fitness community that it delivers good value at the price point. Amazfit has recently launched the next version of t rex 3 pro which is an amazing watch too. I have recently heard very good reviews about hart ring by fittr in my network too.
The watch so many people have no idea exists, is the Amazfit T-Rex 2 or 3. I prefer the 2 as the size is perfect but the 3 is larger. These watches can do it all and have a battery life on a single charge of 27-30 days. Yes, it tracks your health, phone calls and messages etc. You name it, it can do it. I was dead set on Garmins top watch and stumbled on the Trex at Best buy by accident. Saw it was a couple hundred bucks and can't find anything like it for the price. I had the T rex 2 and I loved it! Such a good watch for the price. 3 will definitely be worth it
Can't walk right now due to a broken toe, but I use an Amazon T-Rex 2 watch with the android Zepp app for walking
I've had 3 different Samsungs, 2 Pixel, a One Plus 3, an Amazfit T-Rex 2 and a Nothing. I'm going back to an Amazfit Active Max. The name brand ones I've had just don't work for me like the Amazfits do. They just work. Otherwise, I like smartwatches just for the tinker with factor...
Did the same thing, but I went back to my T Rex 2
No need to read these reviews. If you want real world tests of smart watches there are only 2 channels you need to watch to form an opinion i.e The Qualified Scientist and Chase the Summit. In saying that I still use my Trex 2 and still working great for my needs.
Ive used almost all brands... in the end what matters is battery life... ever since I switched to Amazfit T-rex 2, Ive settled.... but Im assuming you might not like the G-Shock inspired design of the T-Rex watches... Any Xiaomi/Amazfit watch will do if your main concern is battery. You may explore their watches, most of them easily give you arnd 3 weeks with Always on Display.
Amazfit BIP was very nice. Still miss that MIP screen. Had BIP U Pro, T-rex Pro, T-rex 2 and their screen wasn't nice as BIP's MIP. And yes, Garmin is years ahead of Amazfit in terms of software..
Im in garmin ecosystem for 1 year and I dont see such problems as other users. I mean, im using a Fênix 8 51mm solar now and didnt notice bugs and the battery doesnt reach as much as advertised, but performs very well. My former epix 2 had some bugs, but Garmin fixed. Charging port its ok. However, my old t Rex 2 from amazfit had magnetic charging port, which was nice.
You could say this is a poor man's brand I guess. I bought the trex2 when it came out due to the price vs other big name brands. I work with my hands and I'm quite rough with my stuff and my smart self often forgets to take my watch off when I start something. My trex2 has been thoroughly abused and it's still working. The only issue I've had was the stock band broke about a year in. The watch itself still functions like new. I'd like to upgrade at some point, but this one is still going strong, so I have no need to. The only smart functions I use are the compass, the step counter and the hiking/running functions so I don't need anything too fancy. Edit to add: I'm currently active Army and have used my trex 2 compass function during land nav with success.
Using a T-Rex 2 since it launched and it has never let me down. Does the navigation duties, counts steps, is decently tough, and comfortable to wear throughout the day. The watch is absolute value for money and looks good. Coming to the brand as a whole, it has eye catching and feature rich watches. The accompanying Zepp app has improved over the years. A costly Amazfit is better than a mid-range Garmin.
