"My Apex 2 Pro lasts for about 3 days straight tracking my location, and I don't need to track when I'm stopped or sleeping. It realistically gets me 5 days of use between charges. ... If I ever do more than that, it's battery is so small it barely affects my power bank."

"I love my Coros as a navigation tool. My phone very rarely comes out for navigation now. ... Using a watch for the majority of your navigation uses way less power than using a phone."

"You can get over a month of battery life with some models, have access to time, altimeter and other features, and in an instance where your other navigation tools failed, you could then use the gps functionality to figure out where you're going."

You should take a look at Coros. I have an old Coros Apex Pro that still rocks 2 weeks between charges.

i was very disappointed with the enduro 3. sold it and back to my apex pro. the garmin apps with an s (you need like 5) were terrible. Climbpro never worked right. the mapping and battery life were great which is what i needed at PTL.

the question is really ‘are the sensors better?’ than prior or other current models. Holding out for a new Vertix or similar level replacement. As I noted the Garmin Enduro 3 was disappointing. I have loved my coros apex pro for years and love the app (simple and effective) and all the history I have on it. Need long battery and confidence in the sensors. Every sensor system I have had (Enduro 3/Apex Pro/Whoop) conflicts…

r/CorosHelp me choose my next watch: Vertix 2S vs Garmin Fenix 8 Pro vs Garmin Enduro 3
4 months ago

The battery life is not what it seems. Think atleast 20-30%less than advertised if you use any function in that watch, including HR, backlight, any of their programs to ‘help’ you run better. They all make your battery go to the wayside. Had mine apex pro die at 27hrs(40hr is the advert). Best they could tell me was to calibrate my battery(too late for that) and to not use any functions on the watch…cuz fuck me.

I have both - Fenix 7pro and AWU1. Have a Coros Apex Pro too if that matters. The Coros stays in a desk drawer. The Fenix I use for running workouts (it’s paired with Stryd pod). Strength workouts and everything else - AWU for the win. I can do without the Fenix, but like the way it displays the running info 🤷🏻‍♂️ If I had to give up the Garmin or it died, it wouldn’t bother me.

r/hikinggearBest watch for hiking/skiing?

Definetly check out Coros watches too - their Apex Pro or Vertix 2 have insane battery life (like 30-40 days normal use, 60+ hours GPS tracking) and they're specifically designed for mountains sports with all the features you need for hiking/skiing at a lower price point than the Fenix.

r/UltramarathonHow do you track a long ultra run when most watches battery lifes die after 20- 40 hrs? Also is the garmin 965 a good watch for running ultra marathons?

When I ran cocodona and bigfoot 200 I had a Coros Apex Pro, and I took it off to charge during naps so I could have it all as one activity. I ran four 100 mile runs with that watch too each on a single charge. I have seen people charge their watch while running, but that can be uncomfortable depending on how the charging port is set up.

my vote would be for a used/refurb fenix or enduro series, many can be found in local facebook marketplace or certified on ebay. my opinion is based on the following: I have owned a number of Garmins several forerunners, a fenix 3, fenix 5, fenix 6x. Instinct x2 Current setup in a 6x and pro hrm strap. My fenix 5 bricked two years ago and I sent it to Garmin for service. They told me it was dead and sent me a refurb 6x at no cost, that 5 was many years old and well out of warranty. That entire experience was really impressive. The battery life is pretty good still on the fenix and charge it every week or so. Since its 51mm I can read it without my glasses on I tend to lean towards chonky watches. Coros apex pro, just returned a pace pro today. The apex I owned was great and battery was insane, I picked it up used while my garmin was being serviced. eventually I missed the Garmin eco system. In the last few months I having been eyeing a new watch and had read about garmin going pay model so I again looked at Coros. I picked up a pace pro, unfortunately the first order was lost. It ended up being returned as I had a hard time reading it without my glasses. The screen was nice and bright at stock settings but in the three days I wore it ate through over 50% battery therefore having to charge less than weekly was a big change. From what I read they changed their settings and I could not toggle between 12 and 24 hour time on the watch or app I want military time on my wrist as I work nights in a hospital and regular people time on my phone. I had to switch my phone to military time for it to show on my wrist. Eventually I will more than likely pick up an enduro 3

r/CorosWhat actually is good in Coros?

This is not the point. It was mentioned here that coros does "no Feature lock" if the hardware can support the feature. And this is not true. Touring mode is another example. Bouldering as well. And yes some people want to do touring or bouldering with a pace, why not!? But again the point is that Coros is doing feature lock. Personally I do not miss the fishing mode on my Apex.

r/GarminWatchesMy new Garmin Forerunner 255 is here!!

Congratulations! I had Forerunner 255 and it was my first Garmin. I love that watch and miss it from time to time. High value, have all the features you need, it has gpx navigation in breadcrumb line form, great battery life, and it's very light on the wrist. I have never experienced inaccurate HR, no cadence lock, and it keeps up with the HR changes. You might try to wear it higher on your wrist and tighten the strap. I also had Coros Apex, that one was all over the place. Often cadence lock, and often late to keep up with HR changes.
