Honestly it seems like people have ups and downs with their experience. Mine was perfectly fine. That being said the PW3 & 4 are excellent competitors to the Apple Watches core features.
Looks like I'll trade in my PW3 for the PW4 45mm. Why? Battery life. It feels like my watch's battery has degraded since getting it Day 1.
i used to love my Fenix 6, then I got an lte pixel watch and never looked back. it does everything and more. the upgrades from the 6 have been mostly useless and still are.
Only 2 LTE wearos. Galaxy watch and pixel watch. Biggest battery is galaxy watch ultra but pixel watch charge Soo fast that it will last enough if U charge everyday when U bathe (U should definitely take your watch off when you bathe) Galaxy watch charges much longer but lasts a bit longer.
I use a Pixel watch. Golf Pad (the app I use to track my rounds) is compatible with the watch.
Apple Watch doesn't work on Android and Pixel Watch doesn't work on iOS

The sensors and software smoothness are better, battery is a bit behind but the 45mm last 40h+
OP, may I make another suggestion for you to consider? (I'm wearing a Pixel Watch right now so don't come at me Pixel lovers) The battery life is indeed a concern on these watches. If you want Wear OS and are open to a suggestion - take a look at the OnePlus Watch 3 in the smaller 43mm size. It will be very similar in size to your Garmin Venu that you had. You can get about 3 days of battery very easily and if you switch to the battery saver mode can easily go for days longer. I had the larger 46mm size of this watch and loved it - battery life is so good - but ultimately I needed (wanted) LTE connectivity for my watch and so I got the Pixel Watch 3 45mm LTE version. It's a nice watch but battery life is not good compared to Garmin, etc. Anyways, my suggestion is to check out the OnePlus - it's a beautiful, full featured, Android watch!
I personally like the advantage of not having to keep up with yet another thing to keep track of and keep charged up every day - and that's not a perceived difficulty - that's a real thing for many people. I'm glad that you don't mind it, but many other people do. My father is now wearing an Amazfit Active 2 and he is *so much happier* that it lasts ~5 days vs having to charge every day for his Galaxy Watch 6 Classic that he had before.
You appear to not get a lot of things - perhaps the rest of the world doesn't move to the same rhythm that you do? I find it hilarious that by just responding to your statement you downvote my reply, lol - that is some funny shit. I wear my Pixel Watch 24/7 except for when it is charging or when I'm wearing a different more dressy watch to dinner, etc. I like my Pixel Watch tracking my health with its continuous HR monitor, stress monitor, etc. I paid for it so why shouldn't I wear it. For me - I would far prefer if the battery lasted for days+ so I didn't have to worry every day "Oh shit, I didn't charge it yet - let me remember to do that" because I've got enough stuff going on to keep track of.
I got mine about 2 months ago. I've gone from a Pixel watch, to an Instinct 2 to the X1. When I got it I was looking at the Fenix, Epix range, but just came away feeling that they were simply too bulky. Then I went back to a local streo for another look and by chance saw a couple of boxed X1s in the Garmin display cabinet, they weren't on display and the staff didn't want to open one up for me to take a look. I hung around a bit and read the DC Rainmaker review in the store and just bought it on the spur of the moment. So light! I use the LED torch much more than I though I would. The battery life is fine, I plug it in when I shower and that's it. Sure, it does't look like I've got half a kg of apocalypse-proof steel strapped to my wrist - and some might think it looks like a $50 Apple knockoff from Temu - but in my opinion, it's still one the best tech purchases I've made. I love it.
I am from India, used whoop for a year when the 4.0 launched. Post that I have used a Garmin, a coros, a pixel watch, a chest strap and an apple watch as well. Now I am back on whoop. It depends on one's goals actually. The apple watch is good at general tracking. The whole rings system is a good daily motivator and social aspect pushes one to achieve daily/weekly/monthly goals. The strength training part was usually an overestimate, so not much of a use unless a third party app is used. Sleep tracking was a bit hard for me cause of the comfort as well as battery/charging issues. Coros and Garmin were good for running and cardio tracking. The battery life was so good. The sleep and recovery part felt really bad on both. I used it mainly to maintain zone 2 heart beat during my cardio sessions. I returned to whoop because it was the one that actually helped me improve my sleep, my daily intensity and habits. Also the trends and data felt more usable than every other wearable. Its the best if you like optimising things based on data. With whoop 5.0/MG the battery is finally really good, the comfort for sleeping is the still the best. Yes, the tracking is sometimes off during upper body workout days, for which I used a bicep band when I was on 4.0. But, I currently only have the wrist version for the MG, so yeah it sucks sometimes but I guess I am fine. The pace of aging, whoop age, bp etc feel like a gimmick and mostly derived from the trends and data already available previously. I think 5.0 peak is good enough. I wish I could downgrade to peak, but they are not letting me do that. The only upgrade of 5.0/MG over the 4.0 is the battery life imo. Still I find whoop to be the best for my current needs. Its really good with sleep tracking and recovery estimates. Also, the RHR and Vo2max trends help me set goals. Plus it lets me wear my wrist watches.
I train for Spartan and Hyrox with trail and ultra sprinkled in. I like the Fitbit experience overall, but there's no dedicated multi sport mode (though I'm sure it's coming) to seamlessly track a triathlon. That being said, it's of course possible to swap between the three disciplines manually and if we're being realistic, that's not a big deal. None of us are pro triathletes here. You have to weigh whether you want a smartwatch or sportswatch on your wrist. I like a Garmin, but I've found the Pixel watch to be a pretty fun gadget which tracks all my fitness satisfactorily.
