"The health algorithms are second to none, and it's one of very few systems that give you a real TDEE with reasonable accuracy, instead of just tracking active calories."

"When I ran the 10 k my pixel watch was very accurate with the officials and strava was not"

"The GPS is fantastic- It's pretty much always spot on, I have only identified a few times where it got off by a few feet. ... Yeah, mine isn't that much, more like .05/mi. That's really good for a smartwatch as far as I can tell ... It's GPS is better than my old galaxy watch, and that's enough for me"

"There's been a setting to let your AOD show whatever activity was going on for a few months now. ... I never have any problems accessing my workout stats, media players, timers/stopwatches, etc from the AoD."

"And I was able to control my lights and other smart devices from the watch directly, which was nice, which I also slightly miss but is outweighed by the Venu being better for the activity/fitness tracking stuff."

"like that it has modern Android notification handling (which the Garmin didn't)"

"The only reason I have the pixel watch is so i can leave my phone at home."

"Mine doesn't scratch. ... I've had the Pixel Watch 2 since launch and my screen is pristine. ... I wear it almost constantly (not in the shower), during sports, workouts, in bed, to beaches, everywhere. There are no screen protectors, and still there is not one scratch on my watch."

"I'm not gentle with my PW2 and it doesn't have a single noticeable scratch on the screen. I've knocked it a bunch of times too."

"the Pixel is a slick smartwatch with decent sensors"

"I have budget aliexpress smartwatches with better gps tracking than my pixel watch 2. ... My pixel watch 2 wobbles all over the place. Into buildings, teleporting somewhere else then back. In the middle of lakes. This is in the countryside, in a city it's even worse. I have a 30 quid budget watch that does far better."

"the GPS would constantly drop ... would hardly record a workout at all ... I got fed up of workouts not tracking - it would either lose GPS or just never track at all. It was so bloody inconsistent I gave up and sold it, as that was one thing that was really important to me, it actually working as a fitness watch"

"Yeah the GPS on my PW2 is terrible, it's got much worse over time."

"not willing to pay for the Fitbit premium ... also need to pay for Fitbit if need to unlock all features."

"Even discounted these watches are over kill SMART watches not health trackers... so much of then is not health focused."

"It really doesn't offer me much of anything that a regular watch wouldn't. ... My phone is in my pocket, it's easier to just take it out and read a text."

"Battery life is shit ... it won't make it through the day"

"Which leads to me not fiddling much with the watch at all or it won't make it through the day which kind of negates the second point"

"If the Pixel Watch could hit an actual battery life of 3 days without being totally hamstrung only then would it be in the running."

"My pixel watch 2 screen is so scratched its barely visible."

"my Pixel Watch 2 scratched all the time, even rubbing against my sheets when I slept. ... I've owned three generations of Galaxy Watch and never scratched a single one so it's definitely not me but the Pixel Watch itself."

If you're going to go for the smaller size PW3, then just go for a PW2. They are half the price right now, and virtually the same watch.

I can't speak of the PW3. But I'm not gentle with my PW2 and it doesn't have a single noticeable scratch on the screen. I've knocked it a bunch of times too.

I went from Pixel Watch 2 to Apex 2 Pr. You give up assistant is the big thing but get battery life in return which is way better because I only have to charge one or twice a month vs every day so I was rarely tracking my sleep because I had to charge every night.

I was skeptical before I bought the original pixel watch on its release. I am now on a pixel watch 2 and I am a huge fan of Fitbit. I got 1 year of free premium with the original purchase and have been paying for premium since.

After some time with a Pixel watch 2 here are my 2p: * The health tracking and sensors are awesome * Smartwatch / phone companion features are awesome * The GPS is shit * Battery life is shit * Which leads to me not fiddling much with the watch at all or it won't make it through the day which kind of negates the second point * Fitbit is a bit hit and miss * The app itself is very badly laid out, hard to read * Activity stats are really very basic * The health algorithms are second to none, and it's one of very few systems that give you a real TDEE with reasonable accuracy, instead of just tracking active calories.

I have a PW2 I bought second hand and it's great. Battery life, not so good though. A day at a push. But it's a lovely watch and the health tracking is second to none. I also have a cheap AliExpress watch, I really like it for its build quality and battery life, but health tracking is not so good. If you want it for notifications, I wouldn't recommend it, it's very limited and you can't do stuff like reply to texts or other messages.

Pixel watch 2 has been phenomenal for me despite the small screen and the poor battery life. But it's been dependable and still has some of the best sensors available on a watch. I've recently switched from it to an amazfit t-rex 3 pro and what an absolute beast it is. Better in every way that matters to me except maybe contactless payments. Top notch sensors, a large bright amoled display, the torch is excellent and more useful that I can express, sports tracking is spot on with plenty of detail and configurability, and I can squeeze about 10 to 12 days off the battery with heavy usage. Love it.

I have the exact same watch, in the exact same Nano Pop case, only mine is the dark blueberry with yellow ring. Not my picture (or arm) but [this is the one](https://www.reddit.com/r/PixelWatch/comments/1hg79tu/i_love_this_caseology_nano_pop_case_the_bands/) I'm using. It's a bloody shame this band is no longer available... like anywhere. I have a brand new Pixel Watch 2 sitting in my closet, got it free when I bought my Pixel 9. I'm keeping it as backup if/when this watch dies. I don't like the charger on the PW2, prefer the smooth wireless chargers of PW1 than the gold prong crap of the PW2.

Idk, maybe I'm not thinking big enough. But I just can't see anything making this worth switching from PW2

I've just upgraded from a 2 with decent trade in values, I also had some store credit. Best thing I've done for a while, battery lasts over 2 days and the screen is so much nicer!

The calories burnt in the day instead of just your workout is more important. You are burning calories every second you are alive. Only focusing on calories burnt during a workout is the wrong way to go about being healthy. I have the Pixel watch 2 and it does still account for the extra calories burnt from working out. Thinking you can go work out real hard and then you're good to lay around being a couch potato the rest of the time isn't the way to think about burning calories or being healthy. Fitbit gives you the most in-depth Health metrics. Instead of looking at the calories burnt during your exercise, look at Zone minutes and heart rate. It'll still tell you if you're getting intense workouts where you're burning calories harder by what heart rate zone you're in.

Just adding my "hell yes". I went from the PW1 > PW2 and I was fairly happy. But I'm a very heavy user, 2+ hours of tracked activity every day and while the PW2 was better, I still had some very real battery anxiety and did run it out before the end of the day several times. The PW4 has been everything I wanted in my smart watch. All the features are roughly the same, but the battery life is amazing. End of my typical day it's 80%+ remaining, I love it. I went the 45mm, mostly for the larger battery, but I understand the 41mm is equally improved, though not as long lived.
