Based on 1 year's data from Mar 17, 2026 How it works

r/BiohackersI tested 6 sleep trackers simultaneously for 3 months. Here's what actually works (and what's a waste of money)

Got fed up with waking up tired and not knowing why, so I went full psycho and wore/used multiple trackers at once to see which ones actually match up. TL;DR at bottom. **The setup:** \- Oura Ring 4 \- Samsung Galaxy Ring \- Fitbit Charge 6 \- Garmin Venu 3 \- Withings mat under my mattress \- Cheap Amazfit as control **What I found:** Oura was consistently the most accurate for sleep stages. Like, within 5-10 min of when I actually remember falling asleep/waking up. The HRV data correlates scary well with how I actually feel. BUT and this is the kicker—the Fitbit Charge 6 at $179 was maybe 85-90% as accurate as the $399 Oura. For most people that's probably good enough. Samsung Galaxy Ring surprised me. No subscription, solid accuracy, but you NEED a Samsung phone or it's basically useless. The Withings mat was weird. Some nights dead accurate, other nights it logged me as asleep when I was literally reading in bed. Partner movement throws it off. **Biggest surprise:** The cheap Amazfit ($89) wasn't terrible?? Sleep duration was accurate, stages were hit or miss. If you just want basic data it works. **What actually improved my sleep:** Honestly tracking alone did nothing. What helped was: \- Seeing my HRV tank after drinking (even 1-2 beers) \- Realizing my "good" sleep nights correlated with room temp under 68°F \- Noticing deep sleep crashed when I ate late **TL;DR:** \- Got money? Oura Ring 4 \- Budget king? Fitbit Charge 6 \- Hate wearing stuff? Withings mat (if you sleep alone) \- Samsung user? Galaxy Ring is solid \- Broke? Amazfit Balance does the basics Happy to answer questions. Been down this rabbit hole way too deep. wrote up a longer comparison with prices and specs if anyone wants it: [https://sleepupgradehub.com/the-best-sleep-trackers-of-2025-reddit-s-top-picks-373007](https://sleepupgradehub.com/the-best-sleep-trackers-of-2025-reddit-s-top-picks-373007)

r/samsungThoughts on the Galaxy Ring?

Sizig kit is too small. Koreans I guess itty bitty fingers. IT doesn't do 02 reading unless sleep mode. The ring is nice but $400 get a Garmin bracelet $150. I wanted to like it. Inahebbtjer watch ultra but the ring just isn't worth $400 as it doesn't improve anything

It doesn't improve anything with the watch. The watch supercedes connectivity. You're wearing the rig for no reason once a watch is detected to your wrist

r/fitbitHow have you guys found other fitness devices compared to Fitbit? (as I've lost patience with Fitbit lifecycles)

My charge 5 is a bit over 2 years old and the battery just isn't lasting.  I moved to a Galaxy ring. It's not quite as accurate and doesn't track as many things, but it's simpler and so far I like it.

r/fitness30plusWhat fitness trackers are people using? I’ve been looking at the carbonox blaze smart watch to use to keep track of my workouts as well as smart watch functions.

I think you can consider it motivational too. Like i do the body scan scale every day and to be able to get into the app and see my trends is intriguing to me. But im a data guy so i just like charts. I wear a galaxy watch and galaxy ring btw. So i track sleep. Workouts. weight and body makeup. Basically i know what weeks i eat like shit. Or drink more than usual, or skip workouts. And its cool to have quantitative information how much that moves you off your baseline. I do agree if youre taking its body fat % as truth and obsessing over it. That could be problematic.

Avoid Galaxy Ring. I tried it for a week and returned it.

I don't know why this person has all three, but my credit card had a $200 benefit for Oura. I decided to try it just because of the discount, and have come to the conclusion it isn't necessary with the Whoop. I also have a Galaxy Ring, which doesn't require a subscription and seems just as good as the Oura to me. Curiosity leads me to try all of this stuff but so far the Whoop has been the most impressive device.
