"Don't get Samsung Galaxy watch if you want to connect with H365. ... The step sync with H365 is always less by atleast ~1000 steps. ... Doesn't sync sleep hrs and MVPA at all. ... I'm losing the points because of this. ... I tried to change some settings from online reviews and also tried reconnecting with app/watch etc. Still same. ... Checked with both Samsung and H365 customer service. Both useless and don't have a solution for this. Both sides blaming the other for this issue. ... I can't return the watch because the 14 day return period is over. I don't like it but still using because no choice. ... My previous apple watch and Garmin was great. Everything sync perfectly."

"GWU is probably one of the better WearOS watches for exercise tracking, and it still sucks. ... Right now I wear the GWU most of the time and a Garmin Fenix 7x for exercise."

"Galaxy watches don't play nice with Strava. ... I lost data several times & it would stop talking to Strava and I'd have to reset it. ... I had repeated problems, and when I googled the specifics, there seemed to be quite a few people who had had the same problems."

r/GalaxyWatchBest utility for sleep/health tracking?

Honestly, I've had a galaxy watch8 for a few months and the sleep tracking has been garbage - with random gaps all over the place. It's already been sent away and repaired twice, and I need to send it away for repairs again because they didn't replace the faulty sensors in the first place. I guess if it all works as it's meant to...it would be pretty darn good watch as the metrics and analysis provided are quite useful (I have a few chronic medical conditions so sleep tracking is of some importance to me). Interestingly, I've never encountered the random gaps in sleep tracking issue with any prior devices I had which just worked properly without the need for mucking around with settings in the random hope that it will track sleep somewhat correctly.

Bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 for the price of SE with promotion and the discounts. Missing out on ECG doesn’t sit well with me, even though all I use my watch is for step tracking.

r/ouraringRandom question — why do you actually wear an Oura Ring
19 days ago

I do too, I found watches were always getting sweaty and trapping the moisture whilst I was asleep, yuuck Unfortunately there's no other good rings aside from Oura. Best watch replacement so far looks to be the Samsung Galaxy watch 8, does the menstrual tracking via temperature + very good sleep tracking, as good as Oura, according to that scientist guy on YouTube

If you like battery life, I can't recommend the Watch 8. I just got it yesterday, and after tracking two 1 to 1 1/2 hour workouts — beginning at 80% charge — it was out of juice already. It also took 20% just while sleeping. It was also in sleep mode.

It mostly depends on how you use your watch. If you do a lot of workouts and want to track those, I don't believe that's too great of a pick unless you have some chance of charging it a lot. Everything about the Watch 8 is pretty cool and I like it a lot, but the battery life seems atrocious to me. It's how you use it and nothing else.

It'll do perfectly fine then. After doing some research and testing, I can tell that the AOD takes quite a bit of power as well. Once I turned that off, it was quite fine.

Mind telling me how you use it? E.g. do you have your AOD on? That's especially curious since I also use the 40mm.

r/PixelWatchanyone switched from galaxy watch?

From an older Galaxy Watch? Yeah the Pixel Watch will be more accurate. From a Galaxy Watch 7 or 8? It will be roughly the same. GPS was an area of difference but the GW7 has been improved with updates and the GW8 is pretty much par with PW. For most cases any of the major smart watches like the GW, PW or even AW are close. So I wouldn't make your decision on that basis. Comparing the Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch I'd look at what device you're pairing it with and the unique features each offers.

r/GalaxyWatchDo you think that galaxy watch 8 reliable in health and fitness monitoring
7 months ago

I've been eaten alive for saying this, but I'll say it again. Most information available comparing smart watch accuracy find them pretty close to each other. If you want something to generally track this information then Galaxy Watch is a perfectly fine pick. If you're doing more extreme sports then someone more rugged like a Garmin smart watch might be a better pick. If you want the absolute most accurate measurements then get a medical device that measures that. Smart watches are not designed or claim to medical devices. Just accurate enough to be useful overall. You may have times where it misses something or has blips but the overall result is accurate to be actionable. And Galaxy AI can offer suggestions that may be helpful in improving your health or exercise routine.

You might have problem finding $300 watch with both eSim and 3-4 days battery life... Huawei Watch 5 is probably the closest you can get to it, but it's payment system is a shit and outside of China you need to do some workarounds. Maybe Galaxy Watch 8 would do, but the battery will be more like 2 days (which is still better than your current watch). The ultra version might give you 3 days, but it's closer to $500. Oneplus watch 3 is promising, but still lacks LTE outside of China. The rest is covered, 5 days battery. Upcoming Pixel Watch 4 is great SMARTwatch, but has a shit battery and iffy swim tracking. Of course there are Suunto, Garmin and Coros with battery life of over a week, but no chance for esim in this price range. Only Fenix 8 Pro, but its $1300.

Liked the 8 until I saw it in person. Love the squircle case shape. Hate that the screen stayed a circle with the case shape.

Love mine, had it for 3.5 years. Will upgrade to the 4 now. I also wear a Samsung ring, Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, and Whoop band. Oura has been my longest worn device and has provided tremendous insights as it's gotten to know me and my routines/cycles over the years.

The Galaxy watch 8 internal speaker is a big downgrade no one is talking about, it sounds very low. In fact the galaxy watch 4 speakers sound louder than the galaxy watch 8. Anyone facing this similar issue?

Most recently had had galaxy watch 6 classic 43mm, watch 7 44mm, and watch 8 40mm, all great watches . Wanted to go back to pixel watch since all the improvements so I sold my watch 7 and got the pixel watch 4 45mm.. it's my favorite of them all now. Great display and battery life is the best out of them all.
