"the battery lasts an honest 14 days ... to charge it, you don’t need to take off your whoop. It includes a little portable battery you charge separately and snap onto the device when you want to charge it."

"I literally just have my battery pack on a 3 inch usbc charger cable hanging from the wall in my bathroom. Every day when I shower I slide my whoop on and I've not had to even think about my whoops battery in months."

"to me its a huge upgrade just because of the battery life. ... the whoop 5.0 can last you two weeks. ... I dont think I could ever go back to 4.0 after using the 5.0."

"More importantly it saved my life a couple of years ago when I had an Atrial Flutter episode. ... I got notified of a completed activity I wasn’t doing anything and hadn’t for a bit. ... Opened Whoop and it was showing 5 activities at 20/21 over the past 5 hours. ... Checked my current HR and was in zone 4. ... Had no symptoms and went to the ER, got an ablation and was all good."

"I have heart and BP issues and have found the BP the MG predicts to be bang on with the expensive gear used at the cardiologists."

"If you are looking for highly accurate HRV and recovery information, you should use WHOOP. ... whoop provides more accurate data. ... Whoop main focus on recovery and vitals ... according to him whoop provides more accurate data. ... If you are really after the best data on recovery, whoop is imho the best offer on the market."

"I like the screen less design, I can jam it in cracks without an issue, and I like how it feels on my wrist. I don’t even notice it anymore."

"Additionally Whoop is simply comfortable to use 24/7."

"screens are just a failure point. ... I don’t need a watch, I want a fitness/health device and screens are just a failure point."

"It’s been great for balancing strain/recovery/sleep. ... so having Whoop tell me which days I should go harder or lighter has made such a difference in my training regiment!"

"What seperates Whoop from other things is how it shows you the impact of your behaviors. ... The "magic" of Whoop is that it allows you to pre-select certain behaviors that will appear in a daily journal. Each morning you take 30 seconds to check yes or no on these items, e.g. Did you consume added sugar yesterday? Did you eat a late meal? There are endless options. ... As times goes on, Whoop continues to show you how these behaviors are impacting your sleep so that you discover how far before bed you should stop eating, or what's the latest time of the day you can drink caffeine without it impacting your sleep (even though you may think it doesn't because you fall asleep quickly). ... it is providing overall health insights that I find valuable and have led to lifestyle changes that I may not have made otherwise--even as a person in great shape who works out six days a week."

"Denn ein wirklich praktisches Feature ist das kabellose laden: du lädst einen kleinen schwarzen Akkupack am Kabel auf, den du danach für ~20 Minuten "huckepack" auf das Whoop klemmst. ... In der Zeit lädt er dann das Whoop selbst kabellos auf. ... Danach kannst du den Pack wieder abnehmen und hast ~14 Tage (bei meiner Version 4.0 noch ~4 Tage) Ruhe. ... Man muss das Whoop selbst also nie abnehmen."

"Support had me go through all the usual troubleshooting steps — no fix. ... I was told a replacement had been “processed” and would ship. ... It’s now been nearly two weeks and my order is still showing as “processing”. ... I’ve exchanged 24+ emails with Support. The replies are all scripted apologies and vague “please wait” responses. ... Their site promises 3–5 days for new orders, yet for a replacement I’ve paid almost $500 for, I’ve received nothing. ... I’ve asked for a refund policy and escalation, but I keep getting ignored."

"Horrible mistake. This has completely bricked my account. ... I’ve been on the phone with WHOOP several times and we’ve been emailing over the last week trying to get back into my account, and there seems to be no fix available whatsoever. ... I can’t get on the account using my primary email, I can’t get on the account using my secondary email, and WHOOP recommended that I just make a new email address, stating that this would fix the issue. So I made a random email JUST for WHOOP, and they responded saying they updated the email address and that I should be able to login. I cannot. The account is still bricked, and I still cannot login. ... They’re also refusing to refund my money (even though I started my $300 membership just 57 days ago) but offered me a 1 month membership credit ON THE ACCOUNT THAT I CANNOT ACCESS."

"My wife got burned by her Whoop in a similar fashion last year and they did nothing besides deny, deny, deny then try to cancel her membership. ... there was a whoop burn imprinted into my wife's wrist that perfectly matches the whoop she was wearing on the same wrist. ... They said things like "their sensor logs indicated there was never any indication there was an issue with the whoop device". ... Then they went no contact."

"The thing whoop is giving me is wildly inaccurate HR readings. ... Did a casual bike ride with my child yesterday afternoon and whoop gave me a 187 high HR. This was a really slow like 4 block bike ride. ... AW said 108hr peak. Ive biked hard, ran as hard as possible doing max HR tests with my H10 chest strap and never hit above high 160s. ... Im not sure whats going on but its been doing this type of odd HR readings all week."

"HR reading on Whoop are known for being absolutely aweful. ... Better having an accurate reading every 5 minutes than multiple bad readings every seconds. ... Whoop has awesome software and data analysis, but makes it somehow unusable because of bad hr data in. ... If HR accuracy is not a problem for you, and only follow "very general trends", yeah Whoop is a cool product. But if you are at some minimal point serious about HR accuracy, for real sport / performance / improvment, you cannot relly on it. ... If a Polar device, Garmin, apple watch says it's at 80 with readings every minute or so, and whoop says 65 every seconds, your "constant readings" are not worth anything. Garbage in, garbage out. ... Even counting it manually with a timer and my finger on my neck would be more accurate. ... their linear HR sensors are poor quality, and not the ideal way of positioning them (VS circular patern)."

"I had Whoop for three months and it started showing a very bad data. Like catastrophicly bad. ... Bought Polar chest strap to check my HRV, it was VERY different and was showing me my normal data, data that whoop originally showed to me as well until three months into use it stopped."

"got rid of the monthly subscription too"

"I simply cannot fathom spending the $360 yearly ask for the MG."

"If they want me to pay all that shit up front, then it's a hard pass. ... I just saw the "upgrade fee" in an entirely different sub-menu. ... No thanks, I'll just let my subscription run out at the end of the year. What a mess."

"none of the bands are compatible with the new 5.0 or MG? ... none of these accessories are compatible with the new models, meaning sinking even more money into new accessories. ... don’t waste money on the accessories if they are never compatible with the next model"

"That the 5.0 don't let me use my bands I bought last year is so fucking bad..."

"none of the bands are compatible with the new 5.0 or MG ... I have spent lots of money over the years buying the various bands as well as some of the clothing items that you can put the sensors into. ... According to the FAQ, none of these accessories are compatible with the new models, meaning sinking even more money into new accessories. ... This might be the deal breaker for me. ... don’t waste money on the accessories if they are never compatible with the next model"

I can’t stand my Apple Watch. It always turns off during my workouts and counting “exercise minutes” is literally pointless. I bought an Ultra 2 because I wanted to have the best shot at success with it and that thing is a POS for health tracking. The whoop is so much more comfortable and consistent at tracking with better data analytics. I have the 5.0 and the band is fine. Idk what everyone is complaining about. Is it something you would wear to dress up an expensive outfit? No, but that’s not really what it is intended for. Personally, I would wear it with a suit without thinking twice because I don’t really care what other people think.

Not really sure what really negative things you’ve heard other than things that whoop doesn’t include in its hardware(telling time, seeing messages like an Apple Watch) it’s data capturing is superior to competitors in most instances and I’ve been using one for 2 years, just upgraded to the 5.0 and have had 0 issues. My only qualm would be that the new tier system costs a bit more. The “one” tier is cheaper than the previous monthly package and the “peak” is the same amount as previous generations with much more insights. Even still, it pales in comparison to the cost of an aura ring at baseline.

I am receiving my Whoop Mg today, after wearing the trial one for 20 or so days. I'm under no illusion that it's a full on medical device, however understanding the info displayed based on my daily activities has been a great experience. I can't fathom sleeping with a giant apple watch on my wrist. It took a little bit for me to get used to wearing the whoop band to sleep.. i'm used to it now and it's really not too bad.

I was pretty pissed off but it looks like the new device IS free, the wording is just super bad - I need to confirm with customer service, but it looks like if I can upgrade to the 5.0 for free and my subscription will renew again in January at the same price, *or* I can upgrade to the Mg and then renew at the higher price. If they want me to pay all that shit up front, then it's a hard pass. And all that said, it's still nickel-and-diming bullshit. I'm struggling to articulate this via text, but like, I am confident that making two devices and multiple apps have associated costs. They could have kept their costs down by making one device and then recouped it by making the app slightly more expensive, right? I think most of us would have been fine with the Mg being the only device and "hey, we've made the app and the device track all these extra things and it's going to cost an extra $5/mo or $25/yr or whatever from here on out as a result" versus the absolute mess of a rollout we got.

I canceled my Whoop subscription the day they announced their new bullshit. When they wouldn't refund me, I filed a chargeback with my credit card company. I just want very basic and accurate tracking of a few different health metrics with no screen (I like wearing analog watches) and Polar has been a trusted name in that market for a long time. For less than the cost of a Whoop subscription, I'll give it a shot.

Ditto re the battery life. I have next to no set routines so for a space cadet it is bloody brilliant… I lost my charger for over a week and a half and it’s still cruising along - vs my Apple ultra, which drives me mental with how often it needs a lifeline.

I think converting the remaining months to fewer months for MG is wrong (we already paid for that time, 18 months in your case, and it does seem like breach of contract since they said upgrades are free). That being said, if they want to increase the membership cost for future not yet paid for months that we may opt to buy, they're well within their right to do that and the hardware is still free. But the converting our existing months to less time feels icky and I'm not sure what the point is because this is just annoying and it's a temporary source of cash for them at best.

I don't think it's Will who's driving this, it's SoftBank lol. If it'd been up to Will, everyone would have gotten the MG. That was OG Whoop vibes, the best data for all. Tiered approaches are a classic private equity play because they allow for capture of more of the market.

I’m not one of the haters, and it’s helped me a lot, but I’m not going to renew once my membership is up. The MG in particular is not worth the price in the slightest! If it was cheaper, I’d probably renew but there are so many options that are just as good (if not better) for a lot cheaper. All of my friends have now left Whoop for alternatives and none of them regret it. Whoop has served me very well but it’s time for me to move on. It was innovative 3+ years ago, but not anymore.

It's not bad, the 5.0 is a very lackluster "upgrade" from the 4.0 but it's still a good tracker if you are ok with the subscription and being locked in for at least 12 month at a time. All the chaos was because of the new tiered subscription approach and wanting an upgrade fee from people if they don't commit another 12 months upfront.

I have an Apple Watch Ultra 2 as well and a Withings blood pressure monitor so idk if it’s worth it for MG tbh If there was a good app with good analytics that can leverage the data from Apple Watch I would prob dump the whoop tbh
