I've only used the mic in a discord lobby with a friend but it works well enough for that and from tests of my own audio it seems to be good on the latest firmware. What I will say is that the pro headset is seriously the most comfortable headset I have ever used. Comfort was the number one thing I was looking for and I rolled the dice on these based on a couple other redditors saying they were comfy and wow. Top tier comfort + awesome sound quality. I've worn them seriously for 8-10hours straight, basically without even feeling them on my ears/head vs the immediate discomfort I've felt with both my Corsair sets. Highly recommend the alienware pros

I’ve got mine recently, used it for a couple weeks, the sound quality is nice (after tweaking in Dolby Atmos) the build quality is comfy, I thought that the lack of rotation in the cups would be bad but honestly it’s been perfectly fine. The mic is meh, you’re not getting a studio quality mic but it’ll work fine for gaming (Ive done testing for myself and it gets the job done, I wouldn’t use the mic for streaming though). Battery life could be better but it does work wired so that’s not a problem for me. It doesn’t come updated out of the box so you’d have to install their drivers from dells website (I wouldn’t recommend using AWCC as it’s a pretty atrocious piece of software and completely unnecessary, the headset actually tries to install AWCC automatically when you plug in which I don’t like but you can simply cancel the install). Any sound tweaking can be done in Dolby Atmos which you get a free license provided with the headset. Overall I don’t have any issues or regrets in purchasing it, I like the color (I got the white/grey ones) the sound quality is surprisingly good but then again it does have some nice graphene drivers, between this and a set of Astro A50s I think I’d take the Alienware since I haven’t had any big issues like I did with the A50s as of yet but then again I’ve only used it for a few weeks now so we’ll see. I’d say if it’s in your budget it’s a good option

I ran anc on for about a week, only humming/crackling sound I had was when menu music would fade out in video games otherwise I haven’t had major issues.

You don’t need an activation code it will appear automatically once you connect the headset to your pc and open Dolby Atmos

I only had a crackling like noise when lobby music would fade out for me (in apex specifically actually haven’t had it in other games), if I’m listening to music or not playing anything at all there’s no sound at all like a normal headset. Are you using 2.4 or Bluetooth

I’ve only used 2.4ghz, have you tried downloading drivers from dell? I also have my dongle plugged in directly into my motherboard not through the usb cable, don’t know if that’d make a difference but it’s been working for me.

Alienware got it right with this headset. It is on the same level as the Logitech GProX2 if not better.

I have both the AW 920 H and the Alienware Pro headset. The difference is the build quality. The AW 920H has a fatal flaw the earcups break off. I am on my third pair and I take great care and they still broke. The only thing they should have done with the Alienware Pro Headset allow the earcups the ability to rotate flush like the Logitech G Pro X2 wireless.

I have both the Alienware Pro wireless and the Logitech G Pro X 2 headsets. The Alienware has slightly better sound and noice cancellation. The Logitech is built solidly and sounds good if you use DTS Sound Unbound or Dolby Atmos. I ended up getting the Logitech headset on EBay for about $120 EBay refurbished from the Logitech store and they were brand new. The only advantage of the Alienware headset is louder volume and noise cancellation. I have a Alienware 18 Area 51 and I rotate my mice, keyboard and headset with Alienware and Logitech products. DTS Sound Unbound and Dolby Atmos are really similar and with the Alienware I use Dolby Atmos and with the Logitech DTS Sound Unbound.

Own Alienware and Audeze even the Playstation Pulse Elite aren't bad Maxwells are amazing but cumbersome this was further made apparent when I used the TurtleBeach Atlas Air no one talks about these open back headsets best Open Back in a decade which in return made putting the Maxwells uncomfortable Alienware Pro a recent purchase are light aesthetically perfect for gaming and I've used them gym wise also. Nice balanced sound and a good thump at the end

I was say which system? Console or  PC. Console wise Maxwell not even close mobile app gets a lil janky but EQ with @Gadgetry Tech on YT excellent sound profile. Alienware is decent on Console excels on PC with Dolby Atmos and again Gadgetry Tech lol. Smooth audio once you adjust AW bass it's dominant after that butter love the comfort and good ANC and Transparency mode I rock them at the gym also beautiful sound .Maxwells are to heavy but sitting still relaxing Audeze nails every genre in my opinion.

It's a loaded question sorta lol hear ne out Maxwells sound like an audiophile level headset it's amazing but they are so heavy Yiu will feel the fatigue especially long sessions. Alienware is a nice headset not as robust but above good lightweight they feel "adult" like they make sense? The look works home and out in public crisp neutral sound similar to Maxwells and consider your gaming also FPS RPGs Single player Maxwell isn't great at FPS but excels everywhere else Alienware is even across the board not amazing but really really good

With the pro headset out I would strongly encourage looking at those instead. WAY more comfortable, better battery life, no 0% battery bug and a better design without the hinge that has been known to fail.

At full price I would say no, they are priced too high, but at that price I would say yes for sure. I really like the Pro Headset, it's comfortable and has good sound ( for a gaming headset ). It's just priced too high when there is no sale IMO. I would go as far as to say they are easily the most comfortable gaming headset I have ever had. What are you using them with? The only downside is if you are using a system that does not support Command Center 6.0, as it will want that. If you have an Alienware system that uses an older version of Command Center that won't let you install 6,0 then it also won't let you install it for just the headset. If you have a custom build then it should work fine as you can install 6.0 on those.

I have not had any issues on the 2.4ghz with mine. I used them via bluetooth as well, they just don't sound as good due to not having the EQ settings when connected that way.

With the AW on sale + a 10% newsletter rebate it was like $100 difference for me, and even if I had the money I'm stearing clear of the Maxwell with all the problems I've read, however better they undoudtebly sound. I was pleasantly surprised with the AW. It sounds a lot better than my current Sennheiser Game One and Arctis 7 and I wont keep forgetting I have a wire when I get up. There was so few reviews but it was mostly positive, so I took a chance and was ready to send them back but so far it's been great. Did have to play with stereo mix to fix them missing the first half a second of pretty much everything after a minute of silence.

Mic is still awfull. It has incredibly agressive noice cancellation that'll keep cutting the first syllable of words. When I told Dell of this problem 6 months ago they thought it was the unit (I was certain it wasn't as the problem was known) so they sent a new one and it's the same thing, across 3 computers. No amount of playing with settings will change that until they fix the firmware. I am told to repeat pretty much everytime I use this mic instead of the other mic I got because this one is shit. Amazing sound, terrible mic.

It depends on your use case. I went with the Alienware Pro's personally because I wanted an all-in-one headset that I would also be able to use if I were to throw it in my backpack and use it in a cafe. The Audeze Maxwell wouldn't do well for this because you need to treat them like glass to a certain extent. I'm pretty happy with the Alienware Pro's and the sound quality in general. The Audeze Maxwell's sound quality would be better though, but I think the imaging for footsteps would be worse. So it's all a trade off and depends on what you're looking for.

Like I said, it really depends on how you're going to end up using those headphones. Both Asus rog delta 2 and a50s are very solid choices, though the Asus rog delta 2's have a better mic but worse sound than the Alienware Pros. Is that something that matters to you? You should judge that yourself. The Astro A50X are an awesome pair of gaming headsets from what I know, but they require a base station to use, so you won't be able to use it in planes or whatever if that matters to you, but the A50X have a better mic and better sound than AW Pros AFAIK And neither of these headsets have ANC if that matters to you. Only AW Pros does. I recommend you check out the reviews for these headsets by GadgetryTech on YouTube. He has really good reviews. If price is the only thing that matters to you, then go for the AW Pros. They won't disappoint you.

Just got the Alienware Pro's. They're pretty good for music and gaming, but they're not perfect, but also, neither are the Audeze Maxwell's frankly. It's all a tradeoff. Mini Alienware Pro Review Cons: - Sound is great, but the treble is not the best. Most music and games sound amazing but music with a lot of treble like electric guitars or games with gunshots noises doesn't sound the best and can be ear piercing. - No simultaneous BT/wireless - No multipoint BT - No game/chat wheel - No action button so can't quickly pause music - Mic Quality is meh - can't store eq on the headphones Pros: - Great sound quality - mediocre mic quality, but it's super clear sounding and background mic noise isolation is good - passive and active noise cancellation is awesome - they're good for travelling / moving around. I bought a random headphones case for them from temu and I feel pretty confident about the durability of these if I through them in my backpack. - switching between the Bluetooth and wireless is quite good. Better than Maxwell from my research. - very comfortable. Overall, happy with my purchase. I just don't think the perfect wireless gaming headset exist on the market yet. There are a lot of good compromises, but I think everything has its own tradeoffs atm

I tried so many headphones and headsets it's crazy. The Maxwell is fine but really heavy and meh mic Rog Delta 2 has a good mic now and easy to EQ, but too expensive for what it is Razer is just average at best for most of them. Astro is great, but f the dock. JBL Quantum series sound is very average. Great bass Corsair Virtuoso Max audio quality is insanely below others at the same price point. Alienware Pro is 100$ too expensive, ears gets hot unde an hour and mine lasted 4 days. I heard good things about the Atlas Air.
