Astro (Logitech) - A40 TR (Gen 4)

Hi, The A40 TR Headset, A30 Wireless Headset (can be used wired), and the A10 Headset are all available. However, if you are looking for the best audio from your console, the A50 X would be a great choice as it supports 24-bit audio quality. Is there a reason you prefer wired headsets?

Hi, The A30 Wireless Headset and A50 GEN5 and X use LIGHTSPEED wireless technology. I'll be honest, you'll need to be very good to tell any difference between them and the A40 TR Headset as the latency really isn't that high even on wireless. I used to have my A40 TR Headset as my daily driver but have since switched over to the A50 X for my Xbox and my PC and it matches up perfect to everything on my display from gaming to YouTube, etc. For battery life, the A50 X and GEN5 offer 24 hours which I think it perfect for a single session and you can dock it in between to top it up. You can also use it with a charging cable to play and charge at the same time. Obviously it's all down to preference, but wireless headsets have come a long way.

The only wired ones I tried was the Astro A40 I dont own the mixamp but they still sounded pretty good just connected to controller.

Think theres the gen4 astro a40s before the buyout and honestly they are really great the last time I owned a pair.

If you want to stay using wired, I would actually recommend the Steelseries nova pro wired. They have great sound stock but also great with wicked cushions. Prior to switching to the nova pro’s I was using a pair of a40tr’s with amp. If you want to jump to wireless you can’t go wrong with the a50’s I recently switch from the nova pro wired to a50x and love the sound and mic quality. For an out of the box suggestion, A good pair of IEM’s for when you don’t want the weight of a headset on your head. Personally I use the Simgot Supermix 4. If you’re on console these are great if you don’t need a mic otherwise you’ll need a USB MIC to go along with it.

I've switched to Astro years ago and never looked back. Amazing audio, comfort and durability. Have both the a40 tr (10+ years old) and the A50.

if you wanna go crazy i recommend astro A40s or the 50s if you prefer a wireless headset

i've had mine since they came out(Gen4) imo their amazing especially if you get that 3d sound set up amazing for siege and hella comfy plus they go on discount every now and then think their only 130 right now

i have the a40 trs and i hear everything with the comtac 5s. if you want, you can also use fxsound and bump it up a little

Cloud alpha in my opinion , I got the 2’s and the surround sound makes everything muddy, without it it sounds solid and clear , the alpha is a perfectly balanced sound (I have the wireless btw) and I’m honestly really happy , coming from astros A40 TR; although not as loud as the astros they are clear . Astros for immersive games like battlefield, single player games and what not …. The alphas for rainbow six which is my preferred and any game you need to listen for sound like footsteps , my brother has the steel series artic headphones and for the money they aren’t far off from each other either

I'm using the Astro A40's TR with the MixAmp for years

Astro A40 TR + MixAmp is a gem! I've had mine for over 6 years, it's very sturdy and comfortable. There are mod kits for the A40 available for €20 to change the microphone foam and headset color. It has a long lifespan, very good sound quality, and a very good microphone – truly a gem! 😉

Gen 4 A40 best , you’ll go into a closed back headset if you choose A50 or A30, get a new pair of A40’s. You using mix amp?
